Jogglers October 2013

The project will be done by next Monday. I am tired. I am sleep deprived. I am going to do a meditation, I don't have time for exercise.

I am stressed. But, the good news is that I have been working with my Boss aka my Dad and we are both holding it together. Nobody is biting heads off.

Interesting topic, I have also run the gamut of diets. I think I have tried them all. What I have learned over the years is just to avoid what plumps me (I haven't been doing very well there. .) and to fill up on things that give me real energy. I don't avoid the carbs too much, I try to focus on slowing burning ones like double fiber bread or brown rice or even baked potatoes with a higher protein topping (cheese.) I do eat veggies, like squashes, carrots, or cabbages. I don't eat cabbages or cruciferous raw because it interferes with they thyroid. I do eat green smoothies sometimes (spinach, berries, coconut milk.) I don't drink a lot of cows milk anymore except in recipes. I prefer the unsweetened coconut milk for the lower calorie count and also the benefits from the coconut. For me the biggest challenge is getting my butt into the kitchen to cook and then remembering to pack my lunch and to stick to my guns and pass on eating out. Its hard for me to do the latter when everybody else is eating something that looks hot and delicious:eek: I don't avoid healthy fats but I do shun the Omega 6 fats like nut oils and soy oil. I tend to avoid soy in general because of the whole thyroid thing and the excess estrogen thing.

For me a successful day starts the day before with food prep, washing my workout clothes, and a meditation before I sleep telling myself to stick to my plan. Without all three of those things it falls apart.

Jane- I hate putting away laundry too. Well done on your run!! I have got to get back to running.

Tricia- I hope the pups sleep through, that you get a chance to exercise, and that Stephen's software does its thing like its supposed to.

Not doing much today except work. I did manage to make oatmeal for breakfast and didn't eat junk. Yeah me!

Catch ya' later.

Hi Ladies,

Today will be a wicked workout. I'm going from memory here but this is what we have planned.

12 Rounds
12 BOSU Jumps
12 Deadlifts
12 Tire Flips
12 30# Med Ball Over the Shoulder Drop

Alisha ~ I'm happy to hear that your project will be ending soon. Also glad that you and the boss man (;)) are getting along.

Meal prep is so hard. I wish I had more time to do it, because I would fill my freezer with so much stuff. I do the best I can and I guess that's enough. It's why I eat very simply and the same things over and over.

Good job on the oatmeal for breakfast. Keep up the good work!

Hi Tricia!

Evening ladies!

Jane - Glad you're all better! I'm finding that the Nordic Diet's points are the same as clean eating. Nice workout for tonight! I think I would have fallen asleep if I had to read a 128-page document, especially in my field! Zzzzzz. . . .

Alisha - Glad you're almost done with your project! That sounds like it was a real bugger! I think I'm going to stick to my raw vegan during the day, which I was doing great with, and good, clean eating at night. My biggest thing that I need to do is stop eating out completely! I'll bet I start seeing some results when I do that!

Didn't workout last night, but I did both days on the weekend. I did Hard Strikes Sunday. Tonight we had our last Chinese class meeting at a Chinese restaurant where we had 12 different dishes from 5 different regions of China. It was delicious! Just got home about a half hour ago, changed and fed the pups. Finally sitting down. Tomorrow I will get back on the workouts for this week.

Take care and have a great night!

Hi Ladies,

I had to cut that workout down to 6 Rounds instead of 12. It was too hard....cardio smoker and those ball tosses over the shoulder were brutal. I guess I could have gone to a lighter weight but I was too lazy. The med ball was bigger than usual and it was a workout in itself....legs, shoulders and abs not to mention cardio.

Today will be a 3-4 mile run. We've been having nice weather...50's in the morning and 80's in the afternoon. No a/c or heat needed!

Tricia ~ Your last Chinese class sounded delicious. It's hard to eat out and eat healthy unless you are going somewhere that is healthy. That is nearly impossible to find here.
