JOGGLERS APRIL 2013

Jane- The pollen is getting to me too. I think this makes me the 'Sneezy' dwarf, even though I'm not quite that short. But, only just. That looks like a good circuit. Its too bad you don't do that kind of construction work, you could come to my house if you did and help out. Of course, you could come to my house any time but its just a bit of a long drive:p

Yesterday's Hip Hop disc was fun but required a lot of spinning and twisting. I'm on carpet so it didn't really work for me that way. It was sort of a blast from my past, like the boy band stuff from the early 90s. New Kids on the Block come to mind. I won't be getting this one unless I get hardwood or some other smooth flooring.

I'm doing my one of my Tai Chi discs this morning. Then I get to go take measurements at a college for our new contract. Its nice and sunny. I hope that it stays down in the 70s/80s. That 90 degree day was a shock to my system.

Tricia- Did you get a workout today?

Alisha

TGIF!!

I am taking a rest day. I have a 5K race tomorrow that will be run on a runway. The money will go to WWII veterans to assist in transportation, lodging, meals and other costs so they are able to go to the WWII memorial in Washington DC. Looking forward to the flat course.

Alisha ~ I wish I did that construction work too but I think I would be terrible at it. I'm not good measuring stuff and if there is someone else that could do it, well I'm happy to pay them.

We had some rain last night so it washed some of the pollen away. Everything is blooming here. I checked my blueberries last night and they are looking good!

I hope you had a great workout today.

Hi Tricia!

Happy Saturday!

The rain is done and we're supposed to warm up the 50s today. Will the sun show up and stay for more than a few minutes? Time will tell! My seeds are being delivered today, so I can plant tomorrow! Very excited!

Alisha - Hope your tummy has settled down! It must be frustrating to battle your digestive system all the time! :(

I like that you like to read about ultras! That's me with surfing! As terrified as I am of the water, I've always loved watching surfing and when I was in my 20s I read all the surfing mags! Very exciting about sitting for your exam! When do you think that will be?

The new juicers are much easier to clean! I've done tons of research, of course. I've got my heart set on an Omega J8006. I won't have to buy a separate wheatgrass juicer with this one.

Glad you are seeing some warm temps! We are having spring. It was really cold yesterday! Had to bring out the big coat yesterday.

Jane - You have broken my heart! I thought you were really handy! ;)
Oh, well. Still, at least you're getting these things done! lol

I've been having late afternoon/evening headaches a lot over the last week, too. I believe it is the weather even though we haven't had anything pollinating yet.

Hope you did well on your race today! It is definitely a worthy cause either way!

This last week was a bust for me with workouts. Between the late days at work and my attitude, I did nothing and i ate cooked dinners most of the week. At least my breakfasts, lunches and snacks have been raw. That is pretty much set now. I don't even think about it! That's progress! :D

Stephen is going to the marina to check on the boat today. Hopefully, the guy he is supposed to meet with shows up because he never confirmed the appointment with Stephen after he asked when Stephen could come in. I hope he's there because we really want the work done on the boat so they can get it in the water as soon as possible and beat the crowd!

Going to get a workout in today while Stephen goes to the marina.

Have a fabulous Saturday ladies!

Tricia- Yeah, it is really tiresome to battle GI yuck. Its no fun at all.

I heard that the Jack LaLanne is a good one.

I don't know when the exam will be, probably early next year.

I think that getting breakfast and lunch is major progress. Its still 2 out of 3 meals. Thats a lot. Don't worry about the workouts. Its ok to have a rest week. They say mostly about diet anyway.

Jane- Good luck on your race. Those berries sound tasty. I love fresh berries.

I'm not good at measuring things either!

Today is a rest day. I am going out to do more measuring. My Dad is here so my brother is off the hook.

Alisha

Alisha - The Jack LaLanne ones are very good juicers, but at 3600 RPMs, it is too fast for my needs. It will heat the juice and destroy a lot of the nutrients that I"m trying to preserve. It's great for occasional juice, but it also won't juice wheatgrass, which is another thing I want to start getting every day. I"m literally saving my pennies for the Omega!

Good luck with all your measurements today!

I was up a lot last night, I just don't feel like working out. I have to go to work with my Dad anyway. It involves lots of walking. I will work out tomorrow.

Alisha

I was kind of sick last night, terrible headache. Today will be a yoga workout and some of Petra's 'Belly Fat blast' I will probably do 3-4 segments (30-40 min.) and then 25 min of lunar yoga with Desi.

Alisha

Alisha - So sorry you were so sick! Glad you're feeling a little bit better today! Hope work wasn't too bad yesterday!

I went grocery shopping tonight and listened to news on the horrible events at the Boston Marathon today! How awful. So far, all the people I knew who were there are okay and safe.

Very sore from Afterburn on Saturday, so I just did a quick stretch tonight. Relaxing with the pups and watching Ever After until Stephen gets home from school. He pulled the motorcycle out this weekend, so he's riding again. I sent him out this morning with some Reiki protection. I do that every time he rides the bike! He doesn't know I do that, but he doesn't have to!

Hi Jane! Hope Monday has treated you well!

Hello!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. I just been busy.

I ran my 5K race on Saturday. It was a great race and I felt great and got a good time. The weather was beautiful. I came home and laid 45 bales of pine straw with my sister. That was exhausting.

I got up early to run on Sunday morning went outside and it started to lightening. Came back inside for about 30 minutes and left again because the radar was semi-clear. We got in 6 miles. I wanted to go longer but it was thundering again so no go. Did stuff around the house most of the day.

Yesterday I had to drive mom to the oncologist in Gainesville, FL for her 6 month check out. I got home at around 3pm and did an upper body workout.

So sad to hear about the events from Boston. A high school track teammate of mine was running her 2nd Boston. She was having a bad race although she said if she was on the right pace she would have hit the finish line at the same time as the explosions. She was actually stopped just past the 25 mile mark. She said people came out and gave them water, food, blankets and a use of a cell phone. She was able to get in touch with her husband who was suppose to be waiting at the finish line but was somewhere else instead so they were both safe. She said she would absolutely run Boston again in the future.

Alisha ~ Hope you feel better soon!

Tricia ~ Hope the stretching last night helped.

I will be doing a leg workout tonight.

The Boston bombing has really got me down:(:(:( I don't even know if some of the podcasters I listen to are ok :(:(:( I did workout this morning. I did Kathy Smith's Fat Burning workout. I was too sad last night to do a yoga session. I'm a bit sad now.

I will workout tomorrow. We also had rain, thunder, and lightening (very close to the house).

Jane- I really hope that your friend gets to run Boston again. I would hate for this terrible event to make anybody cancel an opportunity to run Boston. I am so glad that she ran slow and her husband was somewhere else.

Great job on your workouts. How is your Mom doing?

Tricia- Sometimes its the prayers of our loved ones that we don't even know about, that have the greatest effect.:) My Dad used to ride a motorcycle until he was in a bike accident.

Alisha

I am doing 'Cardio Knockout' this morning and some yoga this evening before bed. Its sunny and breezy today. I might go for a little bit of a walk. We are in the 70s today, but we should be back up to the high 80s by Friday.

Alisha

I am going for a 4 mile run tonight. I feel better today. Yesterday I was tired and my sinuses were bothering me.

Alisha ~ {{{Hugs}}} The events at Boston make me sad too. I try not to watch the news because it's just endless and doesn't really accomplish anything except to freak people out and make people sad. I hate these all the time news stations. Report the news and them move on.

Mom is doing really well. She is feeling better than she ever has and her movement is coming back as well. She started going to a massage therapist in February and it has done wonders. She goes every couple of weeks. She says she also plays music and twirls around the house listening to it. Which is great because for so long she was walking very poorly. We still have to wait for the results of her test on Monday but I expect it to be good.

I hope you get outside and enjoy the sunshine. It is 80 here.

Hi Tricia.

Evening ladies!

Took a little nap with Peanut this evening. It felt good!

Alisha -Boston was terrible! I'm impressed with the investigation so far and the spirit of everyone who was affected by all of it. Part of me hopes the Boston mafia finds the people who did it before the police do. I hope you get good news about the people you know who were at the marathon!

70s! Hope you had a nice walk! We had a nice day today, too, but I had to work. :(

Jane - Great job on your runs! Glad your mom is doing well and hope that her follow up tests come out fine! Glad your friends are okay! The stretching helped a lot, but I haven't worked out again yet.

I've been getting a headache every day at work since last week. I come home and my head is pounding! It doesn't happen on the weekends. It has to be something environmental at the office. One of my other co-workers is having headaches too. I sure hope this doesn't keep on for much longer. :(

I'm tired. Waiting for Stephen to get home. He should be in by 10-ish. I'm finding that I'm about ready for bed by 9 pm! What is up with that?

I get little enough time to relax and now I want to go to bed by 9? I don't. I make myself stay up until 10. Am I getting old? Oh, no! I know what it is! I have nothing to keep me busy all day so I pace myself - very, very slowly. I almost fall asleep at my desk sometimes because I will count between each page or each word or letter to stretch stuff out so I can have something to do until 5. That takes a lot of energy! That must be why I'm so darn tired every night!

Have a great night you two! See you tomorrow, hopefully, with a workout report! :p:confused::D

I will do Kathy Smith's Total Body Lift which is a whole body strength training workout. My brother has a bad tooth, we have to take him to the dentist this morning.

Tricia- Yeah! Sick em Irish Mob!! My head is hurting too. I wonder if its pollen. I tend to get tired at 9 pm too. I was always a morning person.

Jane- My sinuses have been bothering me too. Yuck. I hope you feel better. I am glad your Mom is feeling better. I hate the news too. I try to avoid it these days. When I finally get slim I will do a workout video for 'Twirling' on the youtube:eek:

Alisha

Here is tonight's workout:

Upright Rows
Tire Flips

Tricia ~ I get ready for bed at 9 and am in bed by 9:20 but usually I read for about 30 minutes but it is lights out by 10 or before. I get up at 5:15 during the week and am usually up early on the weekends too - Saturdays for a race and Sunday to get my longer run in. That is my normal bedtime even on weekends. I'm not saying I'm old it's just what I have to do it get my sleep in.

Alisha ~ Sending healing vibes to your brother. Enjoy your workout. I think both you are my mom should do a twirling workout together. Tricia and I will be in the background.

Alisha - I'd feel better about being ready for bed by 9 if I were a morning person!

Jane - Great workout! You are a regular early riser, so I can understand you getting in bed around 9!

When Alisha does her twirling, we'll have to coordinate outfits and learn some background moves to enhance the routine! lol

Today was the first day I didn't have a headache! I froze to death all day though. They turned the AC on at 9:30 this morning and it ran all day non-stop. I forgot my fleece jacket at lunch. Have to remember to take it tomorrow!

Glad tomorrow is Friday! :D:D:D:D:D

Can't wait for 5 o'clock tomorrow! Stephen may be going out with the finance PhD students tomorrow night. One of them got a paper accepted so they may go out to celebrate. I'll be home alone, again. Wish we all lived close so we could get together on nights like that!

Have a great night you two!

Jane- Twirling videos and back up exercisers/dancers. .sounds awesome to me! Thanks for the healing vibes.

I didn't workout yesterday. I went for a jog/walk this morning. My energy fizzled in the evening. I will do that Kathy Smith workout tomorrow. I might do some Lunar yoga tonight.

My brother is doing very well. We have some pain medicine for him but overall he is doing ok. The dentist (Dr. Kolber in Elk Grove) did a really good job.

Tricia- My headache is coming/going. I hope that it just goes and never comes back. Lols- circadian rhythms are just something we get born with. My brother and I are literally night and day; he is night, and I'm day. I always have a sweater in case of overenthusiastic air conditioning.

Alisha

Hi Alisha!

Well, good news - Boston and MA can rest easy tonight. The second brother has been caught and is in custody. Whew! It was taking so long to find him, I was afraid he might have slipped out somewhere.

Glad your brother is doing well. Today, I remember to take my fleece jacket and didn't need it. They never turned the AC on, which surprised the crap out of me!

Do people have reset buttons? I need one! Although I didn't eat badly today, I feel like I did! Had my green smoothie for breakfast. Wasn't feeling like much at lunch so had a few almonds with vegan chocolate and a small piece of raw lemon cheesecake. Too much sweet - raw and healthy didn't matter. Tonight, Stephen was supposed to go out with the PhDs to celebrate one of their professors getting published. I usually will get something out on those nights, but just didn't have a taste for anything so I cooked t home. Didn't have anything bad all day, but I feel out of whack. Reset! Reset!:eek::eek:

Oh, well, tomorrow is another day . . .

Sleep well!

Run, Jane, run! ;)

I did the butt/upper body segments. I will do the legs/tummy segment tomorrow.

My brother is doing a bit better. I'm going to the Orchid festival this morning. I need to make a lunch to take with me.

Tricia- I wonder why you feel out of whack when you aren't. Maybe you needed more raw calories. Btw, don't forget you can try a gymnema if you over eat sugars. It does work. Last night I had some Joe'Joes (trader's oreos) and I took a gymnema because I had a couple too many. But, I think I'm ok anyway.

Jane- Did you get a good run?

Alisha

Alisha - Glad your brother is feeling a bit better!

The Orchid Festival sounds like fun! Hope you had a nice time and the weather was good.

You know, I was wondering about the difference between calories and nutrition. Theoretically, if you ate 100% required nutrients, but your calorie intake was only 800, would you be okay or does the body still need a certain number of calories to function in addition to the proper amount of nutrition? In other words, are they equal or two different things operating together to create the right balance?

I don't know why that question hit me all of a sudden, but I think I need to ask a nutritionist!

I don't know what gymnema is, but I'll google it.

I read an article by one of my raw food coaches that I follow today (I think she knew where I was mentally/emotionally that she happened to post it yesterday) about the drawing up of old stuff as you transition to raw and there are a lot of things to deal with and heal from or it can turn you topsy turvy or something like that. I think this is what is happening and I just have not been prepared to deal with it. Now that I know what's going on, I think I can start dealing with it. She's doing some follow up articles on how to work through the changes. I'll keep you posted on how that all goes!

Jane - Hope your race went well today!

Oh! And I did get a workout in today! I did Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit!
