Hi All! We are planning to hit the beach on the 4th even though it will be crowded. We plan to drive real early and just be in the area when it opens.

Any suggestions as to what beach to go to? We want to try someplace new. We want to go where the action is. Thanks for all your replies and HAVE A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!

Hey Nette!

Come on over to Seaside Heights & I'll meet you there! Seriously, that's where I will be. The board walk is about 10 blocks long & has all kinds of games, shops, food & rides. We also have nice beaches. The area is very family oriented & you will find the crowd a mix of older couples, families & teenagers. There are a few crazy looking kids but not as bad as the Wildwoods.

Ok, Cape May is supposed to be nice, Point Pleasant is nice. Of course, there is always Atlantic City. It depends on what you are looking for.

Anyway, e-mail me if you want to hook up....

Hey - I'll be in Wildwood - that boardwalk is huge. Could do some serious powerwalking (especially pushing a stroller with my 17lb son!)!!

I'm packing as I type this! I have family in the Asbury Park-Pt Pleasant areas so between family visits we plan on hitting the beaches of Ocean Grove (a very charming Victorian town, similiar to Cape May but not as far from NY) and Pt.Pleasant. From Ocean Grove on, the beaches are beautiful! Enjoy!

I shall be in...

Stone Harbor, NJ, all of next week! I've gone there since I was a baby and I love it!

It's near Wildwood and Cape May and Avalon...

Enjoy wherever you end up!

RE: I shall be in...

We head to Sea Isle City (next to Avalon & Sone Harbor).
I was a Wildwood girl growing up, but have gone to Sea Isle since I was married 12 yrs ago.

Wildwood is one of the only free beaches left, though (except for Strathmere, which is just past Sea Isle).

Ocean City is nice, too.
