Jari Love's Get Ripped to the Core

All right, so I wanted to start the intermediate rotation and this past Sunday, I did RTTC. Its now wednesday and I can barely walk, I can't sit down without almost crying. I don't want to get discouraged but I was hoping this serious DOMS would be gone by now. I haven't been able to workout ever since. Mabe tomorrow I try some cardio, I am just stretching out today. Has anyone experience that??
I been working out lately, not much leg work other than cardio, should I consider something else??

Please any help will be appreciated

Sorry you're having such bad DOMS. I've been there, believe me. For me, walking really helps to loosen up my muscles. It hurts for a few minutes when I start, but quickly gets much better. I find doing no cardio makes my DOMS last longer. I think it has to do with dispersing the accumulated lactic acid. In the short term: Ibuprofen helps, taking Espom salt baths, and increased potassium intake (eg. bananas).

You don't mention what weights you used in RTTC, but I would strongly suggest going lighter, and/or doing fewer reps next time to make sure you don't push yourself to the point of injury. I like some DOMS, but not to the point where I dread ever doing the work out again. Good luck and HTH!

Thank you Jonahnah

I mostly used 3 and 5 ponders and I really felt it. I am doing much beter today, for it's being 4 days, no cardio no nothing. I just strecthed out. I think you're right about cardio. I actually wanted to jump on my elliptical for 20 mins just to get the legs moving but my DH kept telling me, NO YOU need to stretch. Tonight for sure I will be doing cardio and will try another RIPPED TOMORROW

I think Jari sneaks up on you. I believe she is more advanced than some give her credit for and I know I experienced DOMS from both RTTC and Ripped and Chiseled when I haven't done them for awhile and when I first did each workout.

IIRC, when I did Slim and Lean (I think that's the one I started with Jari) I couldn't believe I was tired from lil' 3 pounders when I've been doing Cathe type heavier weight workouts for years. I've since been able to increase my weights and not suffer as much from DOMS.

I do feel that I've gotten leaner using Jari once or sometimes twice a week and actually see improvement in my core even though she doesn't directly focus on it much.

Good luck!

I'm a huge fan of Jari Love:D They are always challenging.
I can't wait for her new workouts!!!!

Which new workouts? I checked her website and couldn't find anything, I love her workouts, even when they kill me.
By the was, I just finish CCV8 and I feel MUCH better, tomorrow, I will try to do slim and lean, hopefully

Any of you followed her rotation??

Fit44,
I recently purchased Jari's Get Ripped DVD's (except the original one) based on your recommendations. I started the rotation using RTTC and S&L that you posted in another thread.

Luprisi,
I did S&L yesterday and RTTC on Monday but i used pretty light weights (3&5lb). I can feel some muscle soreness but it is not uncomfortable, just that "nice, I feel like I worked out feeling". Give yourself enough time to recover before doing it again...I think Jari actually mentions that in S&L somewhere.

Did anyone notice that she uses the exact same music as Cathe's basic step and body fusion DVD?

They announced Jari just finished filming about 2 months ago, but no word on when they will be released, or what the workouts are. Apparently, Jari does not do pre-sales. I keep checking her website for new on the release, and nothing yet:(

I followed her advanced rotation and it was great! I plan to do her intermediate and advanced rotation after I finish STS next winter.
