Good Morning Ladies!!

Once again just up bright & early starting my day.

Figured I'd get us rolling today.

We have our taxes to get done today; so just not sure what I'll be doing for my workout.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone..

Vilma: Good job getting those taxes done early..I am waiting for hubby's W2..Then I can get started..

Today's workout will be some type of cardio. I was thinking of doing Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge 2 or 3..

Talk to you later..

Hey Vilma & Kathy!!

No big plans today. DH is home (took night #2 off for his oral surgery, now he's off Fri, Sat & Sun. So it's not so much OSIF for me. I don't mind going to work when he's home w/ the boys!).

I started to read STS Guide last night, and fell asleep (always do that). I'm going to try during the day today. It's very VERY cool. I might do a couple of lower body 1RM's today, just to try them out. Maybe a stretch. I have serious DOMS from Chest and Tricep AND Back 1RM's this week! One thing I didn't realize with STS is, there is a rest week after each 4 weeks. Hmmmmmm...not sure how I feel about that...

And once again, WELCOME BACK IVY!!

Good morning!!! I woke up in such a fog -- so tired! It took me a minute to realize what day it is and I was so happy once I did!!

Yes, welcome back Ivy! Good to hear from you -- we were worried about you!

Vilma, maybe doing your taxes is your workout! :D I hate doing taxes!!!

Chris, yes, a rest week in between the mesos -- a good opportunity to do that balancing yoga you love so much! No, you can do some of your old favorite full body or circuits with light weights I imagine, right? I can't wait to see the guide book!

I rested this morning -- did about 20 minutes of stretching is all. I'm really sore from the back & chest work I did yesterday.

I just joined facebook yesterday -- finally coming into this century.

have fun today!

-Beth

Hi everyone!

Vilma, I had to laugh at your thread title! Eww, taxes. DH finally got his W-2 today, so I'll be doing them this weekend. I don't mind, as long as everyone stays away from me for a couple hours, including DH!

Chris, glad it's not such a OSIF weekend for you! I was wondering something about the 1RM. Maybe the guidebook addresses this? Since you're likely to build strength after each cycle, wouldn't it make sense to do just the 1RM tests for the exercises you'll be doing in that cycle? Since your 1RM would probably be higher after doing a cycle? Then when you're ready to move on to Meso 2, you do those 1RM. That way they wouldn't seem so overwhelming, too. Since you'd only be doing 1/3 of them at a time. And, you could do them during the rest week between cycles. Someone asked this question I think on the Ask Cathe section here, but it hasn't been answered yet.

Kathy, after finally getting the choreo on Amy's step workouts, I love them! Have fun!

Ivy, welcome back!!! I totally understand about the time online. That's why I'm not on here too much on the weekends. I try not to turn it on when I get home from work, not that there's any time! Check in when you can.

Beth, have you done all three Push workouts now? What do you think of them? I've thought about joining Facebook. It would be fun to see if any old grade school or high school people are on there.

Today was Burn Circuit 3. One more week of the Burns and I move on to Push. I also did the abs from KCM kickboxing.

Gotta run...BBL...

Joanne

Hey Beth: I just joined facebook too..Look me up...I put in my full name...Kathleen Mclean Rossi..(I went by Kathleen when I was in school..But, I always prefered Kathy) Anyway, I only joined to look up old highschool buddies...So, I have joined the century too!LOL

Chris: I know I was thinking about that rest week too. I think on those weeks I will concentrate on cardio and light weights...What will you do?

Joanne: Thanks..I don't know how well I will get the combos. But, as long as I sweat it is ok how I look doing it! LOL

Kathy, I just send you a friend request on FB -- cute picture! Maybe sometime in the next decade I'll get pictures up. :p

Joanne, yes, I've done all three pushes now. I really like push (since it's not combo moves). My upper back is sooooo sore -- not so much my chest. I'm looking forward to the second week of it next week.

to work!!

-Beth

Hey Beth: You are now "a friend" ...on facebook!!

Checking back in with Amy's Advanced Step Challenge 3...

Joanne: I think I got most of it down...I can't seem to get that "dorothy" move at the end of combo 4...I also mess up some on combo 5 too. But, I got most of it!!YEAH!!!

Thanks everyone!!! Again, I'm super happy to be back!! That's so cool that most of you got the
STS already. I can't wait to hear what you all think about it.

Beth: I'm on Facebook too!! Can I add you on my list? My email is [email protected] incase it's ok.

Kathy: Hey! I added you as my friend on Facebook. Just waiting to get approved :)

If anyone else in here has Facebook you can look me up by my email [email protected]

WTG on your workouts today!! I can't wait to workout on Monday! I'm going to do Cathe's
January Rotation and added cardio 6 days a week. So on the days that she only has weights,
I went in and added a cardio.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Hey Again!

I've yet to do a workout. I had this weird feeling in me today, I wanted to go out to lunch with Dh so bad! We haven't been out for a meal together probably since summer of last year. So we went to On the Border, and I ate way too many chips and salsa. And then I had this "sugar crave" and bought and ate a box of DOTS in the car and then camehome and ate M&M's while I read the STS guide! DH said Cathe would be ashamed of me!:eek:

Anyhow, I just needed to "let loose". And I did. I'll eat a very light supper (if any) and then we plan on a movie night with popcorn for tonight.

I've yet to do any 1RM's for the day. After the boys come home and get settled, I'll probably do some for lower body.

I saw on STS Forum that SNM answered about the "21's". They said you CAN'T do a 1Rm for them (yet when I viewed it on the disc, it said to use 60% of your 1RM..how do you figure that???).

Beth: Oh yes! The balancing "relaxing" Yoga for rest weeks! BAHAHAHAH!!! You are funneeee! Oh the circuits sound good! Or TJ's, right? Maybe I'll even be running by that time? I sure hope so. Good job on a nice stretch! Love seeing you (and Kathy and Ivy) on FB!!!

We need Vilma and Joanne now!!

Joanne: As far the retesting 1RM's, i wouldn't think so. I mean, you just increase from what you start at with your first 1RM. You are increasing and gaining strength/muscle that way. Plus, it would be a major PIA, I think!

I'm thinking I might start out with Cathe's February rotation next week. And find out when Cathe is starting STS. If it's TOO long, I might just start on my own. I'd also like to see others start it, and hear about it, before I start, to work out any kinks.

Chris: I am going to do the same thing and see when Cathe is going to start STS. If it is a long wait, I may go ahead and do it. But, for now I am thinking I might do whatever she puts up for Feb. Of course, I could change my mind...

Ivy: Again, good to see you again. Thanks for the messages at FB..Look forward to seeing you there too...

OK, looks like I need to move into this century and join Facebook! I feel left out! If I get a chance, I'll take a look this weekend and see if I can figure it out and join.

Chris, after I wrote that question about the 1RM I thought about it and figured it actually didn't make sense to do them before each phase. There's probably alot of the same exercises and you're right - it would be a PITA! We all have days like those - you just need to hang out and eat bad stuff!! DH and I rarely go out alone - we need to. I'm waiting for the day when we can leave the kids for an hour or two and not worry that the house will still be standing! Actually, they're not that bad, but I'd worry WWIII would break out they way they sometimes fight.

Kathy, I have trouble with that Dorothy move, too. I was too pooped by the time combo 5 came along last time that I couldn't finish it. Yea, you sure do sweat! You have such a pretty name!

Almost the weekend - not sure if that's a good thing or not! Medicare just called my mom and said the hospital bed will be delivered tomorrow morning. Gee, thanks for all the notice! They were supposed to give us a few days notice. We'll be over there tonight clearing out the room. DH isn't too happy, but what can you do? My mom is really stressed - I'm not sure how long she can keep this up. My dad is needing constant care. I think she may need to increase the caretaker's hours. Oh well, one day a time, right?

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Joanne

hey guys, sorry I've been MIA. I had my period, I was trying to do a lot in lab, and generally grumpy. Wednesday I did the HSC despite feeling icky all over and worried about my calves but what can I say, I like jumps and it left me feeling better. Yesterday I ended up taking an unscheduled rest day which involved eating pizza hut too but then I realized I hadn't taken a rest day in almost 10 days so it probably was a good thing! This morning Joe told me stay home since my cramps were bothering me so much and it was the last Friday I'd be able to flake on in months (since I'll have group meeting starting next week). It was a really good call, I needed it mentally and physically. But the really exciting news, I just came back from doing a workout. I had popped it into the xbox because I thought, I feel remarkably not crampy right now nor do I feel like that I am retaining water at all....guess which workout??? Imax3! I got through the whole thing...sort of. I did at least 75% of all the blasts and there were a step combo or two that I needed the TV to do one round so I could figure out what I was doing. I took an extra 30-60s recovery for some of them but I did it all. It is surprisingly fun when your feet aren't killing you. I hope to try it again so I'm more familiar with it and then I can really push my energy into it. (I have to say, I did sort of hold back on a lot because I wasn't sure when my body was going to go -- WHOA!!) Good start the the weekend after such a bad day yesterday -- I just feel a bit more accomplished after having so many little things fail on me yesterday. And I hope that the feet problem has to do with water retention...I'll have to talk to the specialist about that.

Yay! Personals!

Kathy - I'm waiting for Joe's W2 and then we'll probably finish our taxes early too. Good for you for being such an early bird. How long does it take you guys to do the Bento step work? I wonder if I can set up some kind of equation to help people figure out their learning curves based on the instructor. Hmm...

Chris -- did you get your workout in? I'm so jealous you have STS! I personally think its *awesome* to be reading the STS guide while eating M&Ms.

Beth -- facebook, eh? I dare you to try and find me. (It's pretty easy knowing what you know about me though!) You guys are constantly making me think of about CLX!

Joanne -- well, I'm glad the bed is coming but yeah, that's annoying about the warning! You know, this is horrible to admit, but something when I have a bad day like yesterday, I almost want someone to give me a reason to yell at them on the phone so I can get my frustration out on a perfect stranger who I'll never deal with ever again! Man, I would have just chewed someone on the phone about that delivery. But I am glad that your father is getting what he needs!

Vilma -- what did you end up doing today? (other than taxes)

Ivy -- oh, you are such a cardio addict! Was it really intense stuff you did on weight days or did you at least do it lighter?

Did I get everyone? If I didn't I'm sorry if I missed you, I need to totally nosh on something!

Ivy, I couldn't invite you to be my friend on fb.... something about you having some privacy thing. Now how in the world can you expect to have privacy on facebook?! :p I did see you listed as one of Kathy's friends, but I cannot click on your name. So, you will have to find me on Kathy's list and invite me. :) Hottie, watch out, I'm on the lookout for you.....

Great workout, Hottie! IMAX 3 is so tough! Good for you.

Joanne, good luck with getting ready for the hospital bed. Hopefully he will be much more comfortable with that set up. Hope you and hubby can have a relaxing weekend after that (even if you don't get to go out sans kids)!

Chris, how is your husband's mouth feeling? Good enough to eat chips? ;) I have had a couple of crap eating days. I read a tip recently that says if you slip up, make sure your next five meals ("eating opportunities"?) are clean. I can't seem to keep to that ratio!

Stayed after school so Travis could play basketball with a friend. While he was doing that, Dylan's friends were daring him to jump off the high play structure, which he did, and hurt his heel. So, premature end to the basketball. He seems better now. Frankly, I'm happy to be home and know it's the WEEKEND!!!

Have a good one, whoever is still reading!

-Beth

Hottie: YAY! WTG on Imax3. That was my very first Cathe DVD. Yes, I’m a cardio addict, lol!!! I LOVE cardio, especially if the STEP is included. On the Weight days I decided to do not too light and not too hard kind of cardios so kind of in between, but I‘ve also chose a couple of light cardios like LIS (Original). I’ve also made sure not to do step everyday which I love. We’ll see how it goes.

Beth: REALLY! I can’t believe that came out. I’ll try to add you through Kathy’s profile. I’m also on the search for Hottie on FB, lol!
