Is the Eastern coast still with us?

Cathlete
I'm just checking on our east coast friends out there. From the looks of things you may have washed away, with all the rain out in your part of the country.
Hang in there, I'll send this nice weather that we're having over to you. I think it should come sometime later on this week. But for sure by next week. (You know how the us mail can be!;)

Kathy

Haha, thanks Kathy! We're still here in NY. Very wet, but starting to get out from under. The weekend proves to be sunny and in the 60s. Whoot.

I'm not gaining weight. I'm retaining food.

Thanks Kathy! You're a GEM! It's been a long haul this past winter and beginning of spring in Ohio. Can you send it "Priority" PLEASE?

Yes, PLEASE send us some spring! :p

My backyard was entirely under water until this morning. I don't know why my backyard has such a drainage problem, but it was one giant swimming pool. Poor little Max refused to go beyond my back stoop, which became his temporary potty. Oddly enough, while my basement floors & walls were damp, there was no standing water at all.

Other than that I took a sick day yesterday (icky nasty cold!) & it was actually kinda nice curling up on the couch & hybernating during the monsoon.

Glad to hear that you aren't lost in the ocean somewhere!
Ok, I'll try priority, but, I'm not sure about the cost. So, it might just have to go slow boat.
I'll surprise you. How's that! You won't know when it's coming, but it'll be soon.

LOL! I'm so darn funny!
I hope that this brought a little sun to your dreary days.

Please send us some spring! My cellar is my new swimming pool! Send us some sun and WARM weather.

I live in Monmouth County. In fact, I live one block from the bay. We had no trouble. Our lawn and front sidewalk look like small lakes when it rains normally so this was no worse for us!:p I thought they said the coast would be hit the hardest...they were wrong...AGAIN...no big surprise there!:7 There was TONS of school closings all over NJ and NY due to this storm. Our county had NONE as far as I know!

My MIL and DIL live about 40-50 miles north of me and they were flooded. Their places of business were shut down. They were stuck in their houses because of the flooding. MIL had it worse the DIL but both were up all night pumping water out of their basements. :-( DH is on his way home now from MIL's house. He went up their to get their water heater going again. The water in the basement was high enough to short it out. Thankfully he got it going and it didn't need to be replaced. It's only a year or so old!

Hi!
I live in Stamford, Ct. My daughter and I had to evacuate on Sun. The river behind us completely flooded! If I did not leave when I did, I would have lost my car. I am lucky, though, because, I only lost the stuff in storage on the lower level. Some people lost a whole lot more. Cars were under water, and houses were destroyed. I am finally back at my place today, Wed.after being in a hotel. So, no,I didn't wash away, and yes,I am still with ya:) !!Anyone else have major flooding??? Hope everyone is dry, Nancy J.~~~

Thanks for asking!! We've made it through the worst of it....Now If I could get the water outta the basement....x(

Such a huge problem for so many people. We live in a kind of a valley & many folks lost a ton of stuff from their basements (this is one reason I store NOTHING in my basement).

Would you believe our FD had 80 calls in one day? That's almost unheard of for a 2.5 square mile town--it's like 2% of our households. A lot of short circuits, car accidents, sewage backups (those poor guys, trudging around in sewage--YUCK! They keep one set of spare gear & I'm sure some of those guys have, ahem, outgrown their spare stuff but had to send their regular gear out for decontamination).

Can't wait to see the PD's report.........

Ok girls, and if there are any lurkers, guys, I have it all set up for. Starting this weekend, things should start to dry up out there and the temps will be more seasonable.
(Yeah, yeah, I just looked at the weather channel, that's what they're saying!):D :D
