I know Cathe is the best but who else do you like?
Please list all of them & what's their specialty.
Step, Weights, Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Kick Boxing, etc.

I am also wondering if it's worth getting Cathe's older DVD'S.
I need the 40 DVD discount package to complete my set.
I have a 20% discount from ordering STS Cardio that will expire the end of April.
I'm hoping she will offer that discount amount again because money is tight right now.
She has learned a lot since those were made, but lots of variety is a good thing, isn't it?
Thanks for answering. Brenda

the only thing i stray from cathe on is stretching. for that i use classical stretch, led by miranda esmonde-white.

Amy Bento, Sharon Twombly, some Jari Love (not anywhere near the best by far though), Chalene Johnson, Tracie Long, Kelly Coffey-Meyer, Kimberly Spreen, and I've recently bought a set of k (CLX...tough, Turbo Jam...FUN), and most recently I've purchased a set of kettlebells and have a couple of kettlebell workouts on the way. I love a variety and go through periods where I don't touch my Cathe workouts. When I do come back to them they are fresh and fun and I remember why I liked her in the first place. I have a lot of instructors that I'm disovering are "the best." I totally passed on STS but I preoredered the Shock Cardio. I'm really looking forward to that.

My favorites:

Strength / Circuits - Cathe, Kelly Coffey-Meyer. I dont have much equipment at home anymore because I switched to strength training mostly at a gym. Kelly has a fun, minimal equipment style that I can still do at home. My strength workouts that I make up for the gym are still inspired by Cathe's DVDs.

Abs/Core - Cathe, Tracey, Kelly

Cardio - Sean O Malley the Cardio Coach. I also like Grace and Keith of iTrain but the top spot is reserved for Sean.

Kickbox - Tracey Staehe, Kelly Coffey and I really want to try Ilaria. Just from the clips her form looks superb. I love Cathe Kickbox too, but it has been long since she made anything new.

Step - I dont do it anymore, but when I did it was Cathe. I got Cathe's moves without struggling although they were not exactly basic choreography. I found her workouts a lot of fun and very effective.

Yoga - Shiva Rea, Erich Schiffman, Rodney Yee, Baron Baptiste, Alan Finger (of Yoga Zone), Sarah Kline of Yoga Today

Honorable mention workouts that are my favorites - Hi/Lo Medball by Tracey, HWC by Patrick G, Rainbeau's Sacred Yoga series, Rumble by Amy.

Brenda,

I have never regretted a Cathe DVD purchase.

Cathe dominates my home-ex DVD collection; however, Amy Bento's floor cardio routines are starting to make inroads (A-Team Boot Camp; Hi/Lo Xtreme; Hi/Lo Dome Challenge; All Cardio Hi/Lo Knockout; Kickbox Xtreme {this one's much lighter}; and a couple of others whose names escape me. And Mindy Mylrea's Interval Express step-interval workout is one of my favorite step-interval routines. Please note too that each of the above also offer strength- and muscle-endurance workouts as well; those are not my personal cuppa tea but those are also quite popular with other home-exers.

However, I also agree Vee - you can never go wrong with a Cathe purchase. And many of her older cardio workouts are as tough as or tougher than her more recent releases.

1. Weight training - I use Cathe exclusively. I've tried Jari, Tony, Tracey, and Amy but I always come back to Cathe. I just don't think she has a bad workout in the bunch. I'll add my voice to the chorus and say that I've never regretted a Cathe purchase.

2. Cardio - another HUGE fan of Sean O'Malley's Cardio Coach audio guided workouts. He will give you the best workout you'll ever have on a machine, as well as for running. (A-Jock, someone wrote a review on the CC website raving about the great workout they got using Volume 3 in the pool! Was that you!? :p :D)

3. Kettlebells - The Kettlebell Way 1 & 2 with Anthony DiLuglio and Beth Chamberlain. AWESOME workouts!!

4. Stretch - Classical Stretch with Miranda Esmonde-White.

Miss Lee - I was not the one who posted about the great aqua workout s/he got with Cardio Coach, but I'm now seriously intrigued! Not for myself, but for others who might enjoy a real difference from the traditional uses for Cardio Coach! Was this a recent post? Can you post a link to it?

Yes, it's recent and here it is! http://www.cardiocoach.com/miva/mer..._Code=V3MP3&Category_Code=PRO&Store_Code=CCPS

You might talk to Beloved Heather, too, because she sometimes uses Cardio Coach for water aerobics.

Brenda -- I have ALL of Cathe's DVDs, so I would highly recommend that you purchase the ones you don't have. I had a lot of Cathe's older ones on VHS and about 3 years ago I splurged (with my Christmas bonus) and replaced them with the DVDs. You can't go wrong because by having all of these, you can rotate the cardio, weight training and circuit workouts to a point where you won't do the same workouts in months. Plus the premixes on most of them are awesome!

That said, I do like to take a break from time to time on doing Cathe (just to change things up a bit). Some of my favorites for step and kick box are Amy Bento, Kelly Coffey-Meyer and Tracey Staehle. I also like Kimberly Spreen (kick box). I also like a lot of the CIA workouts (Sharon Twombly, Gay Gasper, etc.) I also have the Live Advanced Taebo workouts from Billy Blanks. I would only recommend the Live ones (they are only available on VHS) because his later ones are just not intense enough (in my opinion). I got mine several years ago on E-bay for a few dollars each (there are 12 volumes).

Hope this helps!

I think all of Cathe's dvd's are worth the investment! I have the classics and cardio hits(her oldest step) and thoroughly enjoy them!
The only two I'm not considering is Hardcore Extreme and Imax 3. They seem to be insanely difficult:eek::eek:

I just discovered Christi Taylor for step. She is really upbeat and fun to workout with. Her latest dvd Fit to Dance gets rave reviews. I just ordered it:) Also, Fantastic Four, a compilation workout.
You can view most of her workouts here:

(click on her name to the right)

Kickboxing....Cathe, Illaria, Tony Horton, Kimberly Spreen

Besides Cathe, I like Tracey Stahele and Amy Bento.

Cathe is definetely the best in weight training, and you will never go wrong with a Cathe purchase. Out of all of Cathe's dvds I own there are only 1 or 2 older ones that don't peak my interest.

Amy Bento I would say is my favorite for Hi/Lo cardio, her step workouts are also fun but are very complex IMO. Her weight training is good, and her music selections ROCK!!

Tracey is fun and energetic, she also uses great music. Her step is complex and her ab work is great.

But like everyone has said you can't go wrong with a Cathe purchase.;)
