In search of a good sneaker for step...

Does anyone know of a good brand of sneaker that has extra cushioning for the balls of your feet? My sneakers are fine for strength training, I am currently wearing Nike cross trainers, but not for step. The balls of my feet are taking a beating and no sooner do I get them under control, I do Imax 2 and I can feel them blistering all over again.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks, Melissa

HI,

I bought a pair of Nikes a few weeks back that are all air from toe to heal, one solid chamber of air. Like jumping on a cloud. I forgot the name of them as they are a new shoe from Nike, NOT the Air Max (they are good too but not as much as the new ones). They are over $200 in Canadian dollars, but so worth it as my feet and knees are not botherd at all and they were before doing step.

Just hijacking this thread to say welcome, Brigitte, from a fellow Canuck just down the QEW from you in Hamilton:)

Ryka N-Gage Studio is a great shoe for studio aerobics, including step. They are mid-cut, so they provide good ankle support and are wonderful shock absorbers.

Hi Shelley,

I am actualy a transplanted New Yorker ( I fell in love with a Canadian). I have been in Toronto for almost 4 years now and love it! Bit of a more mellow pace (i live in the Beaches), but it is good. I will be going for my citizienship soon as i can have dual... better to travel with as the world does not love Americans so much anymore thanks to the idiot Bush!

Thanks for saying hello!
