I want to purchase the barbell/weights that we used on ...

I know I should have paid more attention to the brand name, but I was a little distracted with all the stuff that was going on during the trip--lol

I've looked at the links on the site but nothing looks like what we had???

Anyone know what equipment it was that we used??

I do have bodybars from 9-18 lbs., but my DH thinks that I'd get more bang for my buck if I bought the equipment we used on the trip instead of buying the heavier bodybars(24 and 30lbs.)

Thanks!!

Mary-

I didn't go on the trip but isn't SNM in the gym? Can you email customer service and ask them the brand name? I've found them to be very helpful with stuff like that in the past. HTH

Oh, and I think your DH is right- always keeping room for improvement in there is a great approach! :)

RE: I want to purchase the barbell/weights that we used...

Thanks for your reply!

Sometimes I wonder why I make things harder on myself than I have to.

I called Cathe's gym and the person told me that they used the "Troy light bar" system. So I went to google and found a set that included the bar, (2) 7.5lb., (2) 5lb., and (4) 2.5 lb. rubber plates and the clips to keep the plates on for $96.00 with free shipping. I decided that since I got free shipping that I would get (2) 10lb. rubber plates too. It was too good of an offer to pass up. If anyone is interested in the company I used, just email me, I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to promote any particular company.

Hope this helps anyone that's thinking of buying this equipment.

Please post the name. We always post links to sources for equipment like that here. No problem (unless YOU are getting some financial benefit from recommending the company, and do not divulge that).

I think I actually might have gotten my Troy set for a bit less, even with shipping added, from fitness1st.com , but it's been a while, so I don't remember. Free shipping on anything heavy is a great deal (that's how I got a weighted vest).

Kathryn,

Just out of curiosity, what exercises do you do with the weighted vest? I've been thinking about ordering one. When I worked out with the personal trainer, she used to have me do every conceivable variation of walking lunges weaing one of those things. She would also have he do step ups and squats off of a step. It was a great w/o.

Nope, no monetary benefit, just trying to give out some info.

I went to Ironcompany.com.

I had originally thought about getting some heavier Bodybars, but the 30lb. bar was around 60 dollars or so and with shipping it would have been even more. Plus, I would not have the ability to add or remove weight either(in case I was feeling stronger or tired that day).

Mary:)
