I thought I'd share a pic of my new *ride*.

Awesome bike Jess! I currently have a Trek hybrid and I see people flying by me on their road bikes and I just wanna have one! I went out riding on Fri & Sat...it was so beautiful here in MN and we have endless miles of state trails.

Enjoy your new bike;)

JJ

Oh, come on now!! You guys have all enabled me enough around here! LOL I have a Trek Hybrid also, the 7200. I do like it and it's great for rougher roads, but for the triathlons that I've been doing people just FLY by me. Next year... watch out!! Jess is on a road bike! I have endless cornfields here in IL to see. LOL

Congrats, Jess!!! Your new bike is so cool-looking, and the photo of you and the girls is adorable!! Happy anniversary! :)

Thanks, Leanne! I love how speedy it looks... and thanks! The girls were all sweaty after our ride but so proud of their accomplishment. It was a gorgeous night, we'll do it again soon I'm sure!

Oh yes, always the helmet when I'm on the road. I'm just scared of the clip in pedals. I used to race motorcycles so you would think I would get over the fear of skinny tires and clipping in :D. I would definitey go the aero bar way for maximum wind deflection, and for a little rest on long rides. I bet you won't wait a year for those...speed is too much fun ;)

Me too. I was afraid of them also, but once I got them and clipped in it's no big deal! The only thing I worry about is during a race if I get bumped or something... guess I'll have to live & learn! Very cool that you raced motorcycles! My dh just got his motorcycle license... I think he bought me the bike so he can get a motorcycle w/out feeling too guilty! LOL I know, I don't know how long I'll hold out for the aero bars. I definitely want a trainer for the winter! I was looking at the Cycleops fluid trainers, but at $300 it might be a Christmas gift! LOL

Very nice pictures Jess! Thanks for sharing. I am with you on those types of gifts also. If I don't specify, I get something I don't want or need. We can always use more fitness stuff huh? :D

Jess! CONGRATS!!!! Nothing like a new good bike to really take your riding to a whole new level! I just got a Cannondale R5 triple chain ring bike in July and already have 400 miles on it. I just want to get on it and RIDE!!! And I had an old road bike, but it was nothing like my new "steed".

So, what did you name your bike? :p

Thanks, Mary! I learned early on that if i don't specify I end up w/ something I don't want! LOL My dh just expects either a very detailed list or he just takes me shopping (which is more fun anyway!). No surprises, but I'm ok with that! Oh yeah, we can ALWAYS use more fitness stuff... there's always something new out there! LOL

Thanks, Christine! It's definitely taking my riding to a whole other level... love it! Ooh, a Cannondale sounds awesome! I know you're into biking. Do you have a trainer also? What kind do you recommend? The Cyclops Fluid trainer looks pretty nice!

No name yet, but I told a friend that I felt like Pee-Wee Herman showing off pics of my shiny red bike. LOL

I have the Cyclops fluid and like it okay. I might go with the Blackburn fluid if I had to do it over again. There's a plastic yellow piece that is what adjusts the fly wheel and I find it tough to use and flimsy (I broke it once - REI replaced it). The Blackburn looked more sturdy. This is my third cyclops trainer, too - of course that's been since 1994. :p

And of course - SPINERVALS!!!! My first Cyclops came with a training video by none other than Coach Troy. He had long hair back then - quite funny.

Have fun!! I'm eyeing a metric century or perhaps the full (I've done the 50 mile LiveStrong ride) in October. As I said - I just want to go and ride, and my life as a Cheetah has me hooked on revents. I'm actually going to work with a pro cyclist to see about perhaps racing a little. Or at least getting my riding skills to the point where it would be possible. :D

This is my baby, by the way - http://video.cannondale.com/images/08/bikes/CUSA/large/8RA95T_clr.jpg
