I need a distraction

Shaaalllaaaahhh,

I'm good. How are you? :)

My weekend plans are to call you and to workout like a fiend so I don't smoke.

If you need a distraction why don't you try rewriting the lyrics to the theme from The Flintstones?

Hey Shelley!

HAPPY HAPPY HUMP DAY, girlie!

So what's up w/you chickee-doodle?

I'm doing a couple of street fairs on saturday that are going on in the area where I grew up. I'll be taking Joey and going with my best friend and possibly my mom too. DH is supposed to be workin' O/T this w/e so it'll be me and Joey against the world! ;) Should be fun. Could be bad for the diet }( :9 }( but fun none-the-less. :+

Sounds like fun stuff.

I'm doing the usual weekend errands/grocery shopping thing, Sophie has her voice lesson on Saturday, taking a cake to my sister for her birthday. Might do a bit of shopping and take Sophie swimming on Sunday.

Or maybe I'll just crawl into bed, pull the covers up and commence hibernation:)

Hey Shelley,

How ya doin'? What's up for your weekend?

I'm off to an antique show Saturday morning. This particular show features mainly 18th and 19th century American and English antiques. I can't afford to buy anything just now but I'll have fun looking just the same. I like to collect business cards from my favorite booths.

My brother's band is playing in a tavern downtown on Saturday night and I always enjoy going to hear them.

The big thing, though, is happening tonight. I signed up for an Italian language course and the first class meets tonight!! OMG, what have I gotten myself into now! I have to admit, I'm excited but nervous. I hope I don't make a fool of myself. LOL!

Michele

Michele - I'm so jealous. I love antiquing! It's so fun thinking you might find that "diamond in the rough". Is there anything in particular you're looking for?

What kind of music does your brother's band play?

Ooooh, have fun with your Italian course! You'll be fine. Just remember, everyone there is in the same boat as you:) And Italian is a fairly straightforward language.

Hey Shelley--thanks for the encouragement. My mom was from San Bartolomeo, a hill town northwest of Naples. She never taught Italian to her children for some bizarre reason. We might be going to Italy in May so I thought this was a good time to take a class.

I like colonial American decorative items. I would love furniture but I can't afford it. I'm always on the lookout for needlework, pewter, silhouettes, miniatures on porcelain, blue and white porcelain, tea boxes, paintings,.....I love it all:) ;) :D :p

My brother plays in 2 bands. The one mostly plays oldie rock-n-roll stuff, the other plays southern blues. I'd compare them to the Allman Brother's Band, Actually, they play alot of Allman Brother's Band tunes. They're pretty good. The thing this weekend is a band reunion. This group of guys used to have a band in the 70's and they hold a reunion concert every fall. It's really fun to go to.

ETA - How about you--what do you look for in antiques? Should I keep my eyes open for something in particular that you want?

Michele

Hi all! We are going to our very first clam bake in our old neighborhood this Saturday. Can't wait. I guess we will switch our movie-nite to Friday this week. BTW, any of you seen "Just Like Heaven" yet? Great movie and funny too! Safe travels to all and Kas, give Al a big hug from Aunt Deb.

Everyone's plans sound like fun.

I have to work this weekend, but I am off Monday. If the weather cooperates, I may try to get to Hawk Mountain. It's a mountaintop sactuary in PA, along the path that hawks take on their fall migration flight. You sit on huge rocks on top of the mountain with fellow birders, watching the Red Tails, Sharped Shins and Goldens soar by. Wonderful place if you are interested in that kind of thing....

Shelley -

I'm doing what comes after all of those voice lessons for your daughter. My 12 year old has an audition with the Children's Musical Theater of San Jose on Saturday for a role in the musical "A King and I". So, I get to take her there and pay a small fortune for the privledge of auditioning and being part of the musical (everyone who auditions gets a role - even if it's a very small role).

Then it's grocery shopping and cooking for next week.

i get the eerie feeling that we have to go to M.I.L. i am going on a long run before we go, it usually puts me in a better mood.

Hey Shellers!

Hmmm, weekend plans... well, our subdivision is having a cookout on Saturday that we're planning to go to. They're grilling hot dogs, so I'll be bringing my own veggie burgers. :)

And I've got to pack for my big trip to Canada! Woo hoo! :D Just 8 days till I get to have dinner with you! If I don't get stuck in a collapsed mine shaft first. I'll get to wear one of those hard hats with the headlight on it, how cool is that? ;)

Oh I have a BIG weekend planned. It start off with a tooth being pulled(maybe surgically) at 8am saturday! WHOO HOOO I can hardly wait. If anyone needs me I will be off crying :(

Terri

I have to work this weekend...;( ;( , but still better than having a tooth surgically extracted!!! Ouch!!!

I really need to clean up my office at work, and will hopefully have a chance to do that on Saturday afternoon, after we close.

Well I think that I am giving you all enough notice that you can all come and hold my hand! I am a chicken :( Plus Shelley I need you there to keeo the bitchy dentist in line!

Terri

Terri - Good luck, I'd much rather work than visit the dentist. Tell him (her?) not to hurt you, or will all come smack him (her?) upside the head
