I volunteer at our local shelter (not a no-kill, but they do their best to find a home for all healthy cats that come in, and keep some for almost a year if necessary and if they have the space). It always p....s me off when I hear the reasons cats are brought in: moving (where, to Mars? where are cats NOT accepted? Why can't you go to the trouble of finding a place that accepts cats? I did!); had a baby (and?). Child (who could barely walk) was "abusing" the two cats (???? Rather than getting rid of the cats, teach the child kindness, or get him to a psychiatrist if he's a sociopath!). Woman suddenly "became allergic" to her two cats (16 and 18 years old--real adoptable, huh?) she's had for many years (and they had to be euthanised because they were sickly and considered unadoptable--no one goes to adopt a "grandpa" or a "grandma"!). People suck!
This time of year, people are bringing in kittens, often with the motehr (and, no, not all of these are stray cats, but their cats that "somehow" got pregnant, and they didn't want the babies OR the mother. Some people not only suck, but are dumb as dirt!)
