Hi Cathe. If I am working out every day with your Boot Camp, IMEX, and Step Jump and Pump Videos...(about an hour a day) How many calories a day would you reccomend to get the best results from your dvd's? I am a 30 year old female.. 5'10, 155 pounds..thanks for your response!:)

I'm interested to know what other active people's caloric intake is. Not that it's any of my business, or that one person's metabolism is anything like anyone elses. I'm still trying to figure out my own ideal intake after loosing about 40 pounds and gaining more (visible) muscle. I think I can maintain at an average of about 1800 calories a day at my current workout level. I'm 45 and 5'9, weigh about 149 pounds. Anyone else?

I workout 6 days a week usually, I am 46, 5'2", 125 lbs and want to lose 10 more. I eat between 1400 and 1600 a day, I eat clean and this seems to suit me, however I haven't lost anything in a while still hanging on to the last 10!.

I am 5'10", 36 years old and weigh 148 lbs. I am eating 2500 - 2800 kcal a day to maintain 148 lbs. However, in order to lose 8 lbs I have to go down to 2000 kcal/day. I lose every year those 8 lbs because it is swimsuit season.;-) But I am most comfortable at 148 lbs.

I am working out 6 days a week and am otherwise very active.

Thanks for everything you guys posted..I am trying to lose 10 to 15 but I try to stick to 1300 calories a day...I am not sticking to it as well as I should but I do work out every day now..

I am 5'7 and 122 pounds. I workout about an hour a day 5-6 days a week. Usually just 5. I do 3 cardio workouts and 2-3 weight workouts.
I eat about 2300 calories a day and I am really happy with the way I look. In no way is my diet clean but I eat a real variety of foods. I love pie and my husband is great at making it so lately we've been eating a lot of that for dessert in the evening. Everyday I have to have a treat or two but I generally don't count calories or restrict myself from something that I want. It's all about moderation and lots of variety for me.

I'm 42, 5'8 and 125# and maintain on 2300-2500. I workout 4 hours a week with Cathe. If I work out more, I have to eat even more to maintain muscle.

1300 seems too low for someone your height..and you're working out everyday, wow that really seems too low to me.

It is very interesting to hear where other active people are able to maintain and not lose muscle, good thread. I'm quite active (95% Cathe), working out 6 days per week, 1-2 hours per week. I do 5-6 cardio workouts, and 3-4 weight workouts on top. I'm still trying to figure out my ideal intake too, but so far I seem to have lost some fat and gained muscle at about 1500-1800 (but enough protein is definitely required). I think to just maintain muscle I can go to about 2000-2200. I find it quite hard to keep very exact track of calories, cause I eat a ton of veggies and berries every day, and I'm really not going to start weighing those...;) So far it's worked to keep it in the ballpark.
