Horrible incident in Alberta – I can’t seem to shake this story

A crazy man got onto a Greyhound bus, went to the back of the bus and sat next to a 23 year old boy. Crazy man took out what one witness described as a “Rambo type knife” and proceeded to stab the boy numerous times, and then cut his head off and threw it towards the front of the bus. At this point all the passengers were off the bus and had barricaded the door to ensure crazy man didn’t escape. That’s all the news I have for now.

So horrible and so sad. I can’t imagine what that poor boy went through. This has really gotten me down today.

Was horrified when I saw this on the news this morning.

Between the twisted mother who did something to her 2-year-old, the pastor who murdered his wife and kept her body in the freezer, and now this, the stories are getting more and more gruesome. People are sick.

What a scary place the world is becoming. I just read a story the other week about a poor women who was held captive and tortured for something like 17 hours. I won't go into details about it because it is truly horrifying but that story really stuck with me also. It seems people are getting more and more crazy.

Beavs...I was thinking the same thing when I read it. Battling my depression is hard enough without seeing crazy horrific stories like this. No offense to you Marta.

My mom's choice of travel when she goes to Miami to visit my siblings is by Greyhound. I'm always worried sick about the crazies out there. But I guess crazy people are everywhere.

I can't imagine what that young man's family must be going through. I mean I lost my sister tragically but this young man was killed so brutally.

stuff like this makes me not want to leave my home... and sadly sometimes scared at night too.. :( What I don't get is how when I go to walmart and walk down the movie isle half the movies are gruesome horror flicks..
I know many of you would say that its just "entertainment" but how many people feed off of it and have this kind of stuff constantly around them to influence them? Its known that many killers were motivated by movies or musicians that encouraged evil behavior. Now how is it "entertaining" to see it in a movie but real life is so awful. Well not on a soap box. I just noticed that at the store the other day. There were some movie covers in plain view that I don't feel are even appropriate for children. A seperate rant I guess. sigh.
But, I'm so sorry for that young man and his family! :( I just can't imagine.

Jess, I agree with you about the violence in today's entertainment. I was in France a few years ago and was watching tv with the family I was staying with and commented to them about how surprised I am at the amount of nudity and love scenes displayed on basic cable. They were shocked I said that--they feel the same way about American tv and movies with our violence. They couldn't believe that I blushed and turned away at a couple making love (not pornographic or anything but there was a bit of nudity) on television but that I watched violent tv and movies in America. I thought it was a very interesting point and one that I still contemplate today.

I don't think either one is necessarily appropriate but I do think the point that was made was interesting. We watch people blow each other up and murder others, etc. a great deal in American entertainment but shudder at the thought of any type nudity. I don't know...I'm rambling. Just a thought.

No offense taken ladies. I just needed to get it out of my system. All day I have been out of it. I can't believe how much this story affected me. :( Did not workout today. Just didn't have it me. Had a vodka instead. Most unlike me.

Heard this story this morning on the way to work, HORRIBLE! I was just asking my DH last night after listening to the news, "why do we even bother getting out of bed in the morning". I know there is alot of good out there, but it seems all you hear is the crappy stuff.

I wish I didn't read this post and then see this story on the news sites I visit. I was thinking about this last night in bed and it popped into my head this morning while pouring my coffee. It is beyond horrific; I cannot even believe this happened to that poor boy and those people on the bus. I wish this type of "news" was left out of news.

:(

I know there's a GOD..........

On the news this morning, I heard about 3 or 4 boys swimming when an ALGATOR came from NOWHERE and grabbed the boy by his arm, took him under the water OMG…..OMG……..I cried. The little 11 year old boy swam back to the top, MINUS his entire arm, the other boys ran for help and by the time the police got there the boy was still in the water. They recovered the little boy’s arm from the alligator belly or mouth.

I believe the mother of that child had to be a praying mother! Lord watch over my child…….and he did.
