Hey P90X Rut Busters...

Where did you all go?

Last week I finished the Lean Rotation. I had to do a few weeks over due to vacation or illness. Results: No weight loss, a definite improvement in my upper body muscle tone and ab and overall strength.
My husband bought P90 as a result. I'm getting compliments about my shape now.

How did you all fare? Did you quit the rotation? Did you finish? What were your results?

Hey Congratulations! That is one tough rotation. I am on day 2 :p (just finished plyometrics or I should say it just about finished me!) I am doing the classic rotation. Did you subsitute any Cathe workouts for any P90x workouts?

Have you ever tried any of their other workouts? Any tips or advice you'd like to share?

KarenL:)

Hi Karen -

This is the first Beachbody workout I've ever done. And yes, I did substitute some Cathe workouts. Her workouts are just more fun. I subbed KPC for KenpoX and StepBlast for CardioX and a few others.

I think you'll be very happy with the results of P90X. Some say the leg work isn't as good as Cathe's, so you can sub there as you feel necessary. I did Gym Style Legs once in a while, but pretty much stuck with P90X leg work.

Let me know how you like this!

What did you think of the leg workouts for P90x? I think one of the reasons we can handle P90x is because Cathe has us so well trained and I agree ......her workouts are alot of fun!

Hi,
I liked the classic rotation and would add cardio here and there. No weightloss but obvious improvement in the arms. Torso got a bit too wide though...didn't like that. But the arms look much better.

I did the Classic rotation quite some time ago & I'm now infusing both HC & P90X together. I love both programs & wanted to do them together instead one & then the other. Its been working out great so far. Kathy:D

Glad to hear of your results. Last summer men would do a double take & look twice at my arms. One man on the train complimented me by saying to his friend "Look at that woman's arms, she's in some shape." And a co-worker of my mine yesterday caught me coming out of the bathroom in my fitness apparel & paid me a lovely compliment on my shape. Both programs are fantastic. I'm loving my rotation right now.

I have thought about getting these workouts but....I worry as some say they bulk your legs or thicken your torso. I would hate that. All I want is my legs a bit more defined. My arms are very defined. Any thoughts?

Terri

Where did you hear that it will bulk your legs or thicken your torso? I've read a lot of P90X posts, and have never heard that!
P90X will NOT bulk your legs (the lower body work is light or no weight) OR thicken your torso (no weighted ab work, but lots of core work that will help tighten the area--that's what it did to me).

Hey all :) I have to admit that I pooped out on this rotation. I got a little sick of the same workouts over and over. I did about 10 weeks into the classic rotation and I did notice overall strength gains and a bit more definition.

I think that if I did this rotation again, I would shorten it up a bit (maybe two weeks of each phase instead of three) and mix in some other workouts for variety. I understand the concept of the rotation, but after being spoiled with Cathe's variety and spunk, it is hard to tolerate the same workouts over and over for three months.

All that being said, the workouts are DEFINITELY worth buying and I plan to incorporate them into a rotation either next month or just after the Cathe trip.

Christine :)

hubby and i just started p90x on sunday.... so far i'm liking it... but we'll see if i get bored with the same workouts as time progresses!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

I started it in February with the Rut Busters then became very sick and couldn't work out for a long time. Much later, I started it again (from the beginning) and I am almost done with Phase II.

Once done with Phase II, I may stop again. I am very pleased with my upper body definition but really don't want any more muscle growth!

I added a Cathe leg workout to the Classic rotation and that seems to have kept my lower body strength. I also run on the treadmill 5-6 days a week.

It is a hard series to stick with, IMO. It isn't as fun as Cathe, the music blows, and the workouts are pretty boring. But then the next day you have the perfect amount of DOMS or you catch a glimpse of your firm self in the mirrior so you keep going!

Sarah,

Your pictures are very motivating. Thanks for sharing them and your success. This is a great goal for me!

Karen:)

Thanks so much KarenL! I plan on updating my picture trail as soon as I finish Phase II...this is the last strength week of the Phase and next week is "active recovery". I may just have DH take some pictures this weekend.
