Have any of you got into a slump?

I had been doing the rotation that she had a while back, the leg and bodyfat one. Well 3 weeks into it I felt like I couldn't get up in the morning and when i did I wasn't into it. I usually get up at 5 o'clock with no problem. I also since then been eating horribly. If anyone has done the same thing what causes this. I'm doing fine getting all into my workouts and the next you know I am jepordizing everything I work so hard for. I have exercised too long to have this visit me. Maybe there is something I am doing wrong. So you educated people PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your help.

Honey, don't worry about this? Most if not all persons go through this. When this occurs I just order a new set of DVDs. Variety is the spice of life. Also, when I think about how much efort I have put into exercise and fitness already, I just do it. You just have to remind yourself that fitness is a lifelong committment.BE LIKE A NIKE AD AND JUST DO IT.

thanks for helping me believe that I'm not the only one. And boy I order dvds about every month. My husband says I've become addicted to cathe workouts. I have about all of her dvds. The others are on vhs and I slowly but surely trying to convert them. I guess I have to pick myself up again and get back on those weights. The food is the only thing thats disturbs me, but I have another meal to try and do better. Thanks for your words of encourage. I knew I could count on the knowledgeable people in this group.

Thanks,

will have to remember the Nike saying.

Hi Kim,

This actually happened to me several weeks ago. I simply didn't feel like working out, which is so unlike me. I love getting up every morning and working out with Cathe. What worked for me was to cut back on my exercise a little, I usually do 2 workouts per day. Cutting back to once a day for a couple weeks and adding in a few extra rest days is what helped me through this slump. I am up and running now so..good luck. Take a few days off and see if you feel better.

When I eat badly it also makes me sluggish. I just don't want to get out of bed! Once I get back on track and eating right for a couple days the energy comes back.

It also sounds like you're in an exercise rut. Since you have a lot of Cathe's tapes, start exploring some of the ones you haven't done in a while or even better start playing around with some of the premixes. There are some interesting and very challenging ones to choose from!

All of you ladies are right. I have been working out too much and not eating as strict as I ought to. My exercising consisted of aerobics in the morning and weights, abs and stretching and by the way I love her stetch tape. It will be hard for me to cut down the time but I will give it a try. I always feel if I didn't do alot that I wasn't getting a good workout. But I think everyone has given me good advice and I am going to start this week off refreshed and ready to go.

Thanks everyone and I will let you know how it turns out.

Kim~

I just went through the same thing! I went on spring break and then took off most of April. I have been getting up at 5:30 every morning since August, so this was not like me at all. Plus, my eating has been terrible.

I have talked to a few people who have been "off" in their routines since the time change. Friends have reported being more tired than usual and a larger appetite. So we are not alone!

I need to take the advice given to you...don't work so hard and eat better! The fat loss rotation from Hardcore really kicked my butt!

The good news is that I am back into my routine as of Friday. I had to go down on all of my weights, but I feel so much better already!

Good luck to you on getting back in the groove! I will get out of my slump if you do too!

Jenn

Sounds like you have been pushing yourself hard and your body probably was telling you it needed a rest.

Do you have a rest day? I found I got much better results when I incorporated a rest day.

I'm coming back after 8 months off and am actually feeling pretty good now :)

I think I have shortened my workout for the May rotation. I told this answering the may rotation question here. I split up the GS upperbody and doing 1 per day. I had 4 or 5 days of cardio with ab, and My cardio will be mostly 30 or 40 minutes. This is cutting stuff short for me but I'm going to give this a shot.

If you get into a slump where you just don't want to do what's on your rotation - do something else. I have been doing a muscle building rotation for almost 2 months (each body part twice a week). Friday I felt like I would rather stick needles in my eyes than start my second half of the week and I haven't exercised since Thursday. I'm planning to start anew this week with an endurance rotation instead. Granted, I felt like I was coming down with something on Friday and was still out-of-it a little on Saturday, so I'm factoring that into my excuse.

My feeling is...it's much better to change the rotation than to not exercise at all.

I have to confess that when I do a rotation, I get bored really easily. I am the type that likes to do whatever I feel like doing that day, not necessarily what's on the rotation. If it's a cardio day, I do whatever cardio I feel like doing. If it's a strength day, I do a strength video. If I can't decide, I do bootcamp or something like that. I try and throw in a core segment or two but I find that following a rotation doesn't work for me. I lose motivation when I "have" to do a certain thing. In some areas of life you have no choices so this is one area where I can exercise (bad pun) mine. I figure it all evens out in the end as long as I do something.
