Has anyone ever bought from QVC or HSN?

I'm so busted I have been buying too much from hsn and qvc. My husband is overseas so I thought that I could spoil my self a little bit, But then he called me one day and asked why I'm spending so much money and what did i buy?
I was wondering if I'm the only one with this habit of buying from tv. I only get jewelry I love some of the items from Heidi.
Today I talked to him and I promised I wouldn't buy any more but I don't know if I can keep that promise.
I live almost 2 hours away from the shopping mall and I spend too much money on gas. So I just turn on the TV and there it is. Ive been thinking about blocking those channels, but then I think I will shop online, so I'm just a horrible person!

I used to be addicted to ordering the skincare and beauty products on those channels. It's the show host's job to suck you in to order, so it is best just not to watch. Maybe you can limit yourself to 1 or 2 buys a month?

My grandmother was practically an addict, a new box must of showed up everyday for a while. I have bought from them twice, once for hip hop abs, and another time for Wen haircare, but from their website, I don't watch the tv show.

My aunt does this in England. I get the weirdest jewellery from her as gifts. Girl, addiction is addiction, regardless of the addictive activity. If you can't stop, and are feeling shame over your activity, and trying to hide your behaviour from those that are close to you, I'd say you might have an issue you need to deal with. Get help the same way you would for any other addiction- if you try to deal with it alone, you are setting yourself up for failure and more shame, and the cycle WILL continue. You CAN do this - but we have to work to make positive change in our lives.

I definitely think that you should get help for this, too. Is your husband in the military? Mine is, and I've heard of lots of marriages (and credit scores!) being ruined by this. As a military spouse, you can get free counseling for this. In the meantime, try to find other activities to fill your time...working out, taking an online course, books from the library, etc.

Thanks Girls

Thanks for the advice, I definitely needed to heard this so I can do something about it, I needed someone to open my eyes and see that this is not healthy at all..
And yes I can stop, is not like I buy every show, I only got 3 things, and I'm not going to risk my marriage for this. There is more important stuff then shopping.
Thanks Eunice

I buy from them a lot (more than I should).
I've discovered that it's a good idea NOT to watch at night (when will power is low).
And if something isn't a 'special value' at a great price (and I NEED it), it's best to take down the number, wait until the first surge of 'I want that" passes, and then decide when I have a cooler head whether I really need/want the item.

Better yet: keep a list of things you need/want to get (not prompted by first seeing them), then if it comes up on QVC/HSN for a good price, get it. (I did that with my bed).
