Hardcore Rotation Checkin Wednesday 8/3/05

Hi Everyone -
This morning I did Step, Jump & Pump premix of Step, Hi/Lo & Weights, as it was 65 minutes and I wanted to try to keep my workout time to 1.5 hours. It ended up that it didn't have the ab segment, so I had to go back and do abs and then the workout ended up being the same length as the original version, but I didn't like the way it was set up with step segment then a hi/lo segment and then a weight segment. I should have just stuck with the original workout. I still ran out of time and only got to do 10 minutes of the leg drills. My legs were cramping ....I think from those walking lunges yesterday.

Today is my added in rest day, so I will do the SJP tomorrow. I have a question for those who are doing the SJP plus the kickmax drills. When are you doing the drills? After completion of the whole video? I was thinking of stopping after the leg/cardio stuff and before the upper body stuff(been a while, so will view it tonight), inserting the leg drills, and then finish SJP and stretch. It means swapping DVDs in and out though. Just curious what others will be doing, because I will join you on this work-out tomorrow.

This is actually my second week of ramping up the exercise. Last week I upped my swimming to 12000 yards for the week, plus did HC weightloss rotation. I was really tired by Wednesday last week, but this week I am feeling really good even though this rotation is more intense. I am still taking the rest day to be cautious, but am happy with the way I feel.
 
Hi! How is everyone doing? I am better today. I was pretty tired yesterday. I did get in a 7.5 mile run, but not the PLB floor work. SO, I am doing a shorter run today and then the PLB floor work.

Hello my Fitness Buddies!!

I am doing excellent this morning! I did IMAX3 and then went outside for 200 walking lunges. I may do a very short run this afternoon...no more than 4 miles.

Lora...sounds like you had a good workout. You sounded a little disappointed, but I think you great!

Beverly...glad you feel better today. Probably the big run last weekend had you a little worn down.

Hi fit Ladies,

I'm doing excellent also this morning! I did SJP. The only thing I skipped were the planks at the end. I read that those should be avoided for me at this time. I then did the KM Leg Drills. I did not add my ankle weights, since IMAX2 is on tap for tomorrow and don’t want to burn out. Today's workout took about 90 minutes.

Lora, I know the premix you're talking about today. I agree about the way it's arranged. At least you did it! :)

Beverly, I agree with Marietta. Your legs may be getting tired.

Marietta, I wouldn't necessarily call 4 miles a short run. hahaha

Diane Sue, As soon as I read your post yesterday, I now DO remember the topic of walking lunges with Cathe. It was a while ago. But what really stuck in my memory (I think I'm correct) you said your daughter uses a 50-pound bb doing them!

Terri, speaking WL, how do your legs feel today?

Sabrina, thanks for the tip on doing levitation hold!

Nicole, Yeah, this rotation does kick it up a notch! I'm really hoping to stick with it.

Susan-they have some doms but not too bad. I am moving forward with day 3. Last night I even added bi's and tris in the evening. I am use to working weight for an hour a day and cardio for an hour and usually some abs. SO I added in abs yesterday and the bi,s and tri,s in the evening! Over all I feel good!

Looks like everyone else is doing good too.

Did anyone else see the thread on Videofitness.com about the August 05 rotation of Cathe's? I was shocked to read such negativity about Cathe. Is this common over there?
 
You know what??!! I'm about to lose it with all the negative comments about the August rotation!!

IF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT AND IF THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT...THEN DON'T DO IT!!!

If they don't have enough sense to realize that you can modify it to meet your level of fitness or time contraints and that you don't even have to do it for that matter...then they have a major issues.

If I were Cathe, I'd say...forget them crazy people!! She's providing the rotations as a bonus...she is not obligated whatsoever to do the monthly rotations.

There are so many other rotations out there to choose from...find the one that works for you and then get on with it...goodness!!

Can you tell I'm fired up about this??

I usually don't go to that website, but did read Cathe’s rebuttal to why it's so challenging. She made some excellent, valid points. I'm glad she can be tough on us.
 
Hey Susan...can I call you "little-foot"? I'm still thinking about the post I read where you wear a size 2.5 child shoe.

Thanks for leading me to Cathe's rebuttal...she responded way better than I would have...obviously. I was getting so mad reading the complaints that I never went back there...that's sad isn't it?

I'm glad she can be tough on us too!!

Looks like you had a good workout...that's on tap for me tomorrow. 90 minutes...huh? Good to know, guess I'll have wake up early again. There is weight work with that right?

Terri...sounds like you are doing great with the rotation...keep it up!!

Hello Everyone,
Today I am going to do SPJ and KM leg drills. So far I have to say I am feeling pretty good with this rotation as well. I never have pushed my self quite this hard. I think doing all this cardio is going to do GREAT things for my body (like losing that layer of fat on my belly :7) It has been shrinking little by little, but you know that saying "first hired is last fired" ha ha. Hey I still say ya gotta love those walking lunges..

Marietta I to do not understand "why" people get upset with a rotation that they are not even going to do???? If you have nothing nice to say........ Don't say anything at all.

Susan I am hoping to stick with this rotation as well:7

Dallas happy to hear you got the book!! It is a nice doable book that really gets you thinking. Let me know what you think. I am on day 3. Enjoyed your story of your little guy:D

Sabrina the book is called 30 days to a simplier life by connie cox and Cris ?? It's just a easy little organizing book that gives you a to do list for 30 days.

Hi ladies!

Yesterday I ended up doing power hour. I need some cardio for today but other than that I have not idea what I am doing. Do you think shopping is considered cardio? Haha I have to get some shopping done before we leave early on Monday morning.

Afternoon everyone!

I got up early to get this all in. I did SJP, but since it's the Tivo'd version I added LM step only. The step portion is omitted in my SJP version. I know I have to order this one. I then did the KM leg drills and then the KM stretch and SJP stretch. I think tonight I'm going to add some abs and a stretch max segment. I always forget on these work outs that I have to go lighter on my weights. After doing GS for a month, I forget.

Marietta ~ I agree with you getting mad about the negativity about this rotation. No one is twisting anyone's arm to do this and there are so many wonderful rotations to choose from here. I wasn't thrilled with last months because it didn't seem like enough for me. I simply chose another rotation.

I feel like a taxi driver today. I've been in and out of the car too many times to count. I have to leave again, so I'll check back later when I have more time.

My boss was here earlier and I couldn't really type....but that thread over at videofitness is titled "cathe .....deep end". It says that they think she's finally gone off of the deep end and they said they couldn't believe their were "idoits" doing this rotation. I couildn't believe that there were 16 pages of this nonsense before amoderator locked the thread! Anyway, not to stir up negativity, but I was shocked. I

I just hope Cathe doesn't stop doing the rotations because I really appreciate the fact that she takes time to put them out for us. I'm also glad that this month's catered to the Advanced crowd.

Nicole - How long have you been exercising? I noticed the other day you stated you hadn't been exercising that long.

Susan - Cathe responded to the Videofitness thread? or are you talking about the response she made in the Ask Cathe forum?

To those of you that are contemplating the Aquajock Rotation - have you done one of hers before?
 
Hi all, I have never posted in this link before but I just wanted to add that agree I just don't understand what about all the negativity regarding this months rotation is about. I am not all that advanced but something about this rotation just clicked with me and so I am attempting to do it modified of course to suit my need and with what videos I have. I think I just like the originallity of it. So far these 3 days have been wonderful. I hope I can stick it out to the end.

So I did SJP and some of the leg drills, but my son need ed me so I hope to finish that tonight and stretch

Nicole...I promise, we will "FAUX" it after this rotation...No matter what!

Sabrina...NO!! Shopping doesn't count as cardio unless you are "sprinting" from store to store!

Lora...you didn't stir up any negativity in me...it was already there!! I was thinking my thoughts but was prompted to say something based on your post...so don't even worry about that.

I too would hate to see her stop posting rotations, but I wouldn't blame her based on the "ignorance" of some and all the "crap" she's having to listen to about one single rotation. Hopefully, she is bigger than that, but I know it gets old after a while.

You can never please everyone and that's just life...so I was raised to not say anything if I didn't have anything nice to say.

Man...I couldn't imagine going to another forum as I'm hopelessly hooked on this one and I don't need another...

I have been exercising for 10 years on and off which is GOOD because I have been collectiing all the things I need and I have them now ha ha. I have been working out CONSISTENLY for the last 3 years.(That means 5-6 days a week) I belong to the YMCA but I find I like working out at home to my dvds better. Although I may start to go when my baby goes to kindergarten this year. (I want to try and work on my cardio more)
