Hardcore Rotation Checkin August 1 Monday

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did TLP Dynamic Strength and Power. I am not really feeling well this morning. I guess it's a good thing I did an easier workout. I'm not exactly sure where I will fit in these "functional fitness" DVDs. I guess on my recovery days or every once in a while for a change.

Have great workouts everyone. I think I'm going to start the August rotation tomorrow. (if I'm feeling better)
 
Good Morning Everyone!

My DS starts karate camp, so I had to get my butt out of bed early to get my work out done. Today, since we're not starting the rotation until Fri, I plan to do an interval run on the treadmill and a total body work out. I'm leaning towards ME, since I haven't done it in awhile. I thought I'd give the Hardcores a rest this week.

Lora ~ I hope you're feeling better soon. Good luck with the August rotation!

edited to say: Holy crap Lora! What time do you get up? 4:30A?! You and my DH, now that is motivation! I just looked at your posting time. You go girl!

Nicole ~ Thanks for the book recommendation. I might swing by the bookstore and pick it up today.

Sabrina ~ Your vacation does sound fun. School doesn't start until 8/24, so I'm still trying to squeeze in one last hoorah. I'm going to keep bugging him. What are the ages of your kids, if you don't mind me asking? I have a 7,5,2 year old. The two older kids are pretty good swimmers. On a another note, I sent you an e-mail about those tech pants.

Susan~ How are you feeling? How was your weekend?

Marietta ~ Where have you been?

Diane Sue ~ I already said this in yesterday's thread, but I'm amazed you're still getting your work outs with all thats going on at your house? Is your Dh home yet?

Hi Ladies,

This is what I have done the past few days. Friday was a 5.5 mile run and ME express. Saturday was my 11 mile race and Sunday I did a slow and easy 5 miler and stretch max..

The Aug rotation looks great, but I think I will wait and do it in the fall. I think I want to keep more running in right now with the long days and great weather. I was also thinking of subbing my running for some of the other cardio in the rotation, but doing all the weight work and circuits. I might give that a try..

Who else is doing the Aug rotation?

Happy Monday Everyone!!

I haven't posted since Friday so let me tell you guys what I've been up to.

Saturday - Cardio/Weight class and KPC
Sunday - Rest (can't believe I didn't work out at all)
Monday - Legs and Glutes and I'll also go for a run today at lunch.

You guys...the August rotation looks REALLY good to me. I just saw it this morning. I'm really tempted to put off the A-Jock rotation that we've been discussing. But...I can always do it another time. What are you guys going to do?

Lora...I hope you feel better. I see you are going to start the August Rotation tomorrow. That's great!!

Beverly...Congratulations on your run...those hills and hot weather paid off for you...again I say...YOU GO GIRL!!!!

Hey Dallas! I've been around. Usually, I don't get to check in over the weekends...I'm always running around like some sort of mad-woman.

Susan...how's goin hot momma??

Nicole....I read in other post about the book 30 days to a Simpler Life. That sounds like a good and practical book. Who is the author?

Sabrina...You vacation sounds fabulous...We have a GWL where I live. It's really coo!! Have fun!!

Well, Hello there,

Wow! I am very intrigued by this month’s rotation, much more so than the one by A-Jock. I think I've changed my mind and will do the one Cathe put out.

Sunday, I went for a three-mile jog.

This morning I did BodyMax with the 200 jumping jacks and 40 push-ups. I've always taken pride that I could always do my push-ups on my toes, but today I couldn't. :( This was a long one! It took me 95 minutes to complete.

Sabrina, your vacation sounds like so much fun!

Dallas, I try to squeeze in as much fun as I can during summertime too. School starts where I am on Sept. 12. That's great that you're kids are good swimmers. My 5 year old is still getting used to going in water. We had a HUGE accomplishment this weekend. We got him into the lake wearing a life jacket and just float. My husband took a couple of pictures; I'll try to post them when he sends them to me.

Nicole, that book sounds interesting. I'll look into it this week. I'd love a simpler life!

Lora, after owning just a few of Cathe's w/o's I one day decided to order her Packaged Set. I was overwhelmed by all the DVD's at once, it was hard to decide which one to do and when. So, I can empathize with you.

Marietta, Feeling good! Don't worry about taking Sunday off. I took Saturday off. I did nothing!!

Beverly, do you use a walkman or something when you run that long. I get so board, and I only go for a half hour.

Diane Sue, your workouts are as great as usual.

Susan - I meant that I don't know what category this "functional fitness" workouts should fall into, i.e., weights or cardio.....because they're really not weights and not solid cardio. They sort of fit into their own category.
 
Hello Ladies,

I sit here trying to decide wether to start the Aug 05 rotation. I am in a tug of war with myself! WHat is the rotation A-jock has that you were thinking of doing? Dallas can you send me a link.

Nicole-I will look into that book it sounds interesting and I could us a simpler life for sure.

Also my concern for cathes aug 05 rotation is that I don't see alot of upper boddy work. I love working upper body!

Someone help me decide...LOL

Marietta I am going to attempt to do the August rotation this week. I am psyching myself up to do BodyMax for today}( I am really not sure I want to committ to a WHOLE month of this rotation, but....... HEY maybe you can talk me into it :7

Susan the book is called "30 days to a simpler life" by Connie Cox and Cris something? I am doing it with a friend, but would LOVE if any of you would care to join me for this 30 day rotation ha ha.

I had to register my oldest up for Middle School this morning. Boo Hoo! They are getting older so fast!

I am not sure what workout I am going to do today. I have a lot of things to get done with leaving next week. Plus I have a birthday party to go to later and my DH has to work late. It is never ending!

Oh no, everybody has bailed on the A-Jock rotation?! Just when I had psyched myself up? OK, I'll go for the Aug rotation if that's what you guys are doing? I'm such a follower! :p I was going to wait until Sept when the kids go back to school, so I can dedicate more time without feeling a time pressure.

Nicole, did you do the BMax, etc. today. I didn't, but let me tell you I can feel my muscles now. I did ME and a treadmill run. I forgot how tough that one was. I had to go lighter on my weights. Maybe later I'll do those 200 jumping jacks and 40 push ups. So, I'm not so off on the first day.

Let me know what you plan to do. It does help knowing you guys are being tortured as well. }( I'll jump right in!

I do agree with Beverly though, I think for some of the cardio I might stick with running. I don't have all the DVDs yet.

I know I said I wanted to do it...but I didn't think you guys would go for it...:eek:

Okay...so did Legs & Glutes this morning and I ran at lunch because I didn't even see the rotation until this morning.

I think I can play catch up though....I'll start with Body Max tomorrow if we are really doing this...

Let me know if you do the august rotation but doing running as your cardio. Id be interested in seeing how you would make that rotation up. I too prefer to run while I can. At least when its not so humid in NY and if I can get some good runs in before the snow flies Ill be happy :)

Sorry if I hijacked your thread -- Id follow the August if the runs arent too hard for me :) You go girl on your race too !! Congrats!

Lora, I apologize I misunderstood what you meant about your functional fitness workouts. I know you recently purchased a lot of new DVD's and that's what I thought you were referring to.

Marietta, Yeah baby! I'm doing this months rotation. BM was a good start for the week. I was fine until I got to the power lunges. Yowza! Luckily, I got by breath and kept on going. How would you catch up? Double up by adding Friday's exercises onto another day? heh heh}(

Susan...I think I can catch up if I start tomorrow. I can combine my Sat and Sun workouts and be on track by next Monday.

What do you think about that??

Hi! I have been looking over the August rotation and trying to decide what to do.

I really like week 2 and week 4. I would definetely sub running for some of the step cardios. Do interval runs for the IMAXs and steady runs for the step only workouts.

I really need to figure out what I am doing before I get off of work to go workout..

I think I will start with week 2 and take it from there.

You ladies are a lot fun to check in with and are kicking butt as well with all your workouts... Let's bust our butts this month... :7

Ok, I was looking at this rotation again. Shoot, I have BMax (which was for today, but not Imax One for tomorrow. So, what would you gals do? Do Bmax tomorrow or do an interval run on the treadmill? I have SJP tivo'd, so I don't have all of that work out. So, for Wed. I'll have to tack on more cardio.

TIA for your suggestions.

Dallas...I don't have IMAX One either...I figured I'd sub with one of the others. But you could also do running intervals. You could play the DVD and pick up the pace on cardio blasts that is if you have a treadmill...Just a thought. Otherwise you can still do the intervals in whateve way you usually do them.

I just got back from the dentist and I have to go back this week and next week. I will follow the August rotaton as much as I can. I'm a little bmmed about all of these appts..
