Hey Maniacs! My workouts have mainly been mt. bike riding for the last week or so....Yeah! I've sure missed it! Went on a 3 hr. mt. bike ride on saturday in St. George (that's about 4 hrs. from my home...lots warmer there!) Had a freakin blast! My totally boring base-training on the stationary bike has really paid off. Dh said he couldn't believe how great of shape I'm in for the first of the season. This is the first year that I've been able to keep up with him, I'm mean, like right there with him the entire time. He didn't have to wait at all.}( The weather has turned cold again, so I'm not sure how much mt. biking I'll be able to get in this week. Hopefully, my trails will not be to muddy. Yesterday I did P90 3/4 sculpt/circuit for the first time and was surprised at what a great little workout that is. I'm actually major sore this morning. Today will be some yoga.
Lisa- I use my weight bench (about 6 or 7 risers high) for Bulgarians split squats. All the examples I see on the internet show the exercise with back leg on a bench. When I go lower (which I do sometimes for a different angle) it's easier for me, so I keep my back leg up on the high bench most of the time. I use db's for better balance. I can go heavier with a barbell, but I can't balance well. I think higher isolates the front leg muscles much more. But, if it hurts your back like it does Debbie, I'd lower the back leg.
Toasty- have fun planting trees! Digging counts as a workout ya know.}(
Ally- welcome! Yes, some hrm's have calorie counters. I can't even remember what kind mine is, but it's the same as Debbie's.
Diane Sue- Sorry you've been sick. So far, I've dodged any colds. I'm sure the grandkids are your culprits.
Debbie- Great job on the puke status workout!! You would look killer cool on a motorcycle!}(
Lora- Happy St. Patricks day to you too!
Gotta run...work calls!
