Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Barry's Bootcamp Fat Blast Upper Body followed by Mission Advanced Legs, Advanced Abs and Advanced Upper Body. Workout was 74" and I burned 509 calories. I used the Booty Band for the workout to see how it felt on the legs. Still might add weights to the leg work next time.

Have great workouts everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Today I will be planting trees. Dh and I got some for the yard yesterday. We got 3 pink dogwoods for backyard and one weeping cherry for front. I also want to plant some grass seed, etc. Also gonna do upperbody plus again and ab work (10th week today). I haven't been able to consistently workout 6 days a week straight because of sickness, etc. Been frustrating.

Lora,

Great workout. That is alot of calories burned! Forget it is green day today. My eyes are green. lol. Well I tried my lovepotion pink perfume yesterday. It is so damn light in smell that dh did not even smell it. My son said he couldn't smell it either. I'll probably just stick with BPAL then.

Morning Ladies -

I did 4Day Split - leg work and didn't have time for upper body so I did 68 push ups and 40 tricep dips and then some abs.

Slept a little late - gotta go!

Have a great day!

Ally

P.S. how do you all know how many calories you burned? Do you have a special heart rate monitor? If so, which brand is best?

Good Morning, I am feeling somewhat better today. I started out with Turbo Jam Total Body Blast because this is mostly cardio with some core and lower nonweighted work, then I did 4Day Split Kickbox. I am going to go back in a little bit and do 4Day Split legs premix and add on the calves, floorwork and abs from the Pyramid dvd and 4DS Kickbox abs segment. I am having two of my grandchildren over for tonight. I also need to get that Easter shopping done.

Had an awesome workout today. Puke status, actually. This is the WORST day of this rotation and I'm glad it's over. This starts week 8 so tha tmeans next week I have the week off from lifting. I will still do cardio, though. 3 sets/18 reps. KILLA!!!!

2 minutes rest between each set

CHEST/BACK
Incline Dumbbell Flyes:
27's - 18/18/18 (up 2#)
superset w/
T-Bar Rows:
55# - 18/18/18 (up 5#)
***Nice superset. T-Bar rows use to be one of my favorite exercises but I'm not too sure anymore. Those were hard!

SHOULDERS/QUADS
Lateral Raises:17's - 18/18/18 (up 2#)
superset w/
Squats w/Heels Raised:
85# - 18/18/18 (up 5#)
***This was hard, my shoulders really burned and then I had to put the bar across my shoulders. This is where I kind of felt like puking.

BICEPS/TRICEPS
Incline Hammer Curls:
20's - 18/18/16 (no increase but last week I did 18/17/14 with reps)
superset w/
Weighted Bench Dips:
60# - 18/18/18 (up 5#)
***This superset did me in. When the 3rd set was up I just wanted to say NO WAY!!! Defintely felt like puking here.

That is all....

Hey, Gene and I are going to look at motorcycles tonight. We went out yesterday looking around but no one was open. We need to do something this summer with these freakin' gas prices. So a bike is just the ticket!!

Diane Sue,

Glad your feeling better. My throat was killing me yesterday.

Debbie,

Your weighted bench dips and shoulder work blow me away! I got 3 more weeks of X and I CANNOT WAIT TO DO HEAVY LIFTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bikes sound like a good idea. Dh was gonna get me the FJ Cruiser, but with economy being what it is..I will probably just stick with what I have for now.

Morning Maniacs,

This is kind of my rest week before I start the the next heavy rotation, so I have no real game plan just winging it as I go along. Today I grabbed Bootcamp and just matched Cathe for weight, didn't try to set any records. On the intervals though my chest felt tight, so I am wondering if I am not getting this virus my kids had. I sure hope not, but this would be a good week to get it, if it has to happen.

Debbie - Sweet workout! I feel for ya, I know what a tough workout that is. Thanks for the info on the BSS's, maybe now that I'll lower the step I won't hate them so much.

Lisa - If you stop in - Did you get my email?

Char - Those are some pretty trees you got for your yard.

Nice workouts everyone!

Linda

Hey Maniacs! My workouts have mainly been mt. bike riding for the last week or so....Yeah! I've sure missed it! Went on a 3 hr. mt. bike ride on saturday in St. George (that's about 4 hrs. from my home...lots warmer there!) Had a freakin blast! My totally boring base-training on the stationary bike has really paid off. Dh said he couldn't believe how great of shape I'm in for the first of the season. This is the first year that I've been able to keep up with him, I'm mean, like right there with him the entire time. He didn't have to wait at all.}( The weather has turned cold again, so I'm not sure how much mt. biking I'll be able to get in this week. Hopefully, my trails will not be to muddy. Yesterday I did P90 3/4 sculpt/circuit for the first time and was surprised at what a great little workout that is. I'm actually major sore this morning. Today will be some yoga.

Lisa- I use my weight bench (about 6 or 7 risers high) for Bulgarians split squats. All the examples I see on the internet show the exercise with back leg on a bench. When I go lower (which I do sometimes for a different angle) it's easier for me, so I keep my back leg up on the high bench most of the time. I use db's for better balance. I can go heavier with a barbell, but I can't balance well. I think higher isolates the front leg muscles much more. But, if it hurts your back like it does Debbie, I'd lower the back leg.

Toasty- have fun planting trees! Digging counts as a workout ya know.}(

Ally- welcome! Yes, some hrm's have calorie counters. I can't even remember what kind mine is, but it's the same as Debbie's.

Diane Sue- Sorry you've been sick. So far, I've dodged any colds. I'm sure the grandkids are your culprits.:)

Debbie- Great job on the puke status workout!! You would look killer cool on a motorcycle!}(

Lora- Happy St. Patricks day to you too!:)

Gotta run...work calls!

Linda,

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GET SICK! BTW, I did those 12 pullups after you hollered at me a few days ago. Kissed the bar at the 12th one. hehe

Bionics,

You are having too much fun! I am gonna look at map and see if I can find some new routes for biking. Good hearing from you. You wearing green today?

I finished my workout. After the cardio I went back and did 4DSplit lower body and calves premix, then I did Pyramid calves and floor legs using 5# ankle weights, I finished with Pyramid abs using a 10 pound med ball for everything but the pikes, and finished with 4DSplit kick box abs and stretch.

Charlotte, I have still got the scratchy throat going on:( WIsh it would all go away.

Dallys, Children get more colds per year than adults and are still building their immune systems. They just love to snuggle too LOL

LMAO! I know..me a rebel too!!! I am not wearing green either and my daughter comes downstairs and pinching me. She has these very large green foamy shamrocks earrings on and a green blinky button.

Char - That's exactly why we want a bike. I'm SO SICK of paying for gas. My dh pays over $50 a week just to get to and from work, I put about $30 in mine a week. That is just highway robbery. Bastards. Can't wait until you do the heavy lifting again!

Linda - I HIGHLY recommend you take a week off totally from lifting. I swear you won't lose any muscle mass. In fact, it helps build that muscle. You need the break after that rotation and you will be glad you took it when you start back up again. Are you doing this rotation again? If so, I'll send you the chart I did. The one I'm doing is funner.

Dallys - Killer cool! LMAO! I like that! Nice going on your biking. You are an animal my friend!

And I'm a rebel too. I'm wearing PINK!!!!

Well I am wearing BROWN! lol.

Deb,

Yeah, we know your a rebel..you ain't gotta tell us that. Cost $67 to fill up my old truck with gas, but I usually don't go far so it last a very long time. When it gets warmer, I plan on biking to grocery store for a few items I can stick in my back pack and then use that as more weight to get up hills. hehe. Yeah, I don't see how many can afford to do much these days with prices so sky high.

Well I got done doing my ab work. I am eating now and will plant trees. Think I will do this as a warmup before I start Upperbody Plus. I only have 4 to plant.

Hey I am a complete rebel too, I am wearing gray and blue and DD is in pink! DS did wear green to school though, but he's in kindergarten!

Debbie - I know your right about taking the week off, but my birthday is in 46 days, so I feel compelled to do everything I can to reach my goal! But I promise no weights anymore this week, only cardio. Oh and I definitely doing this rotation again, so bring it on! But I am not sure how 18 reps of anything done in supersets can be funner! LOL! BTW, what do you have planned to do next? Because won't you be starting your burn phase?

Linda

Linda - Ok, I'll send it to you tomorrow. And you're right, the last two weeks just suck no matter what. 18 reps suck out loud no matter how you slice it!!! I found a cool rotation from the men's M&F magazine I'll be doing. I'm going to start doing one body part a week again. Looking forward to the change! Ok on the no lifting for the rest of the week. You won't hurt youself doing that. Keep your foods in check and you'll be fine.

I like this macro breakdown.

Hope you don't mind me hi-jacking your thread for a question :)

Deb: What software do you use to get the macro breakdowns?

Also I've been reading New rules of lifting for Women as well as Muscle Chow cookbook. Muscle chow recommends drinking two shakes a day when you want to lean out. Do any of you agree with this? I eat 6 meals a day. Always making sure I have a protein/carb/fat. Was curious as to what you Hardcore women thought.

Toasty: *Standing on my head* smiling at you--um what are you doing in your picture?

Hi Everyone,

Okay so I'm a rebel too, not a bit of green on me. I totally forgot about it being St.Patty's day.

Debbie great workout, is that the one I'm supposed to look forward to doing??? Ummmm. Sore just thinking about it. Which w/o are you doing from MS? My hubby was doing the latest one, but then went on the website you gave me and he's doing something from that, he loves it! I'm going to finish this rotation of yours that I'm doing, am I doing the one that you are about to finish? What's a good one to do after this one, should I do like Linda and do this one again or maybe try one body part, or is it just something for me to decide. Other than areobics what can I do to shrink my middle and the fat around my back??? I have a hard time with that, but since doing this rotation it's helped that area some. Do you think good mornings would work. I haven't been as active with my cardio, so I know that would help. Any suggestions?

Charlotte the trees you got sound so pretty and I'm so ready for spring!

Hi Linda, Dallys, Diane Sue, Lora, and anyone else that follows. I'm at work so gotta cut it short!

Have a great day everyone!
