Hardcore check in for June 2017

ok girls getting ready to get cathe live (I think) so am I understanding that you can view any way once you have the service? Because I just want to watch thru my laptop and I don't have chromecast I was just going to watch thru the web option, so that all goes through this site?

Athletic Training today so much fun doing some different workouts with this rotation
 
Today I did Ripped With Hiit Low Impact Hiit 1 and 2 combined, 51 minutes, 325 calories, heartrate 137 average 173 max. I then did Ripped with Hiit bonus abs 1 and 2, 23 minutes, 74 calories. Total time 74 minutes, 400 calories. 5,159 steps.

Roselyn, yes you can just do Cathe live via your computer. When I ran it from my phone I ran it from the internet and streamed it. That is the same thing. I also streamed it with an HDMI cable from my computer to the television. The thing is, my laptop upstairs is old and does not have HDMI so I either used just it or had to drag my laptop from downstairs up. You shouldn't have a problem.
 
I would have posted earlier but didn't have internet all day. Today I did RIPT90 Arm Annihilator. Second time with this workout and loved it!!! I went higher than last time and actually did the chin ups with my assisted bands. It was awesome and I sure did feel them even with the assist.

This is the workout:
Bicep Curl to Overhead Press: 12's - 3 sets/15 reps
Hammer Curls: 12's - 3 sets/15 reps
Jumping Jacks to Triceps Pushups: 10 sets/5 reps - non stop
Dumbbell Curls: 15's -10 sets/5 reps
Triceps Dips: 3 sets/15 reps
Chinups: 10 sets/5 reps (Was able to do 8 sets, I was wiped out by the last two)
Situps: 3 sets/50 reps (I did regular crunchs, crunchs w/heel lift and reverse crunches)
My abs were BURNING!!!

Workout was 38 minutes, Avg. HR was 80, Max was 123, burned 89 calories. (1 calorie less than last time and I upped my weights AND did chins - WTF?)

Then I walked on my treadmill for 2 miles.

Debbie, your heart rate and calorie burn has to be off. Nice looking workout today too.

This morning I did Strong and Sweaty Boot camp, 45 minutes, 277 calories, 119 heart rate average max 161. I then did Ice Boot Camp Circuit timesaver no abs mix 4, 37 minutes, 230 calories, average heart rate 122/ max 157. Total time was 82 minutes, calories burned 507. Steps 3,973.
I feel that SS Boot camp is more intense than Ice Boot Camp because of the type of cardio and the compound segments. I wonder at the accuracy of the heart rates. Ice Boot Camp is not near as hard.
 
Today I did Cathe Live Quick Fix Kickboxing with 100 Rep Challenge and Core. I used 1 pound gloves and 10 pound weights at the end for all of the compound exercises. I had to modify a couple of them because I cant do lunges but I still got a great workout in! Workout was 1 hour and I burned 531 calories. My average heart rate was 137 and my max was 178! I was drenched by the middle of the workout and I had a hard time catching my breath after the Tabata blasts.

Debbie, nice workout for the arms today. I am glad that you like your bands to help with your pullups. How tight do you wear your Fitbit around your wrist? Mine is snug so it doesn't slip. Also, do you have lotion on where your Fitbit is located on your arm? I heard that can interfere with your fitbit read. Trying to think of why your burns are so low...

Diane Sue, nice job on the workout! I am sure loving the variety of the Cathe Live workouts I am currently doing this month. I am sure I will loose some muscle mass but I am not going to stress over that if I can loose some fat!

Roselyn, you should try Cathe Live, there are so many workouts from weights to cardio to choose from. I am really enjoying them this time around because I had gotten to a point where I was so bored of what I was doing.

I did work out today, just didn't have time to post. I did Cardio Coach 3 this morning and had a great workout.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 312 calories (TM said 371), ran 2.73 miles and went 5582 steps. Avg HR was 130 and Max was 171.

Jolie - I keep my FB tight on my arm, it doesn't move when I'm running or lifting. And no, I never put lotion on my arm. I don't get it. Nice workout!!!

Diane Sue - I know, I'm shocked at how low my calorie burns are. Oh well, I'm not stressing about it, it's just annoying. Nice workout today!!

Roselyn - I loved the assisted pull-up bands, I recommend them highly. Nice workout today!!!
 
Today I was going to do Back Breaker but my upper lats are sore from doing chin ups on Tuesday. I will do BB tomorrow. Today I just walked on my treadmill for a while as I had a headache and didn't feel like doing much more than that. At least I got some steps in.

Workout was 46 minutes, went 2.3 miles, burned 252 calories and went 5563 steps. Avg HR was 90 and Max was 142 - not sure how that is possible because every time I looked at my HR it was around 86 bpm.

Today I did Cathe Live, Upper Body Sculpting for 2014. I loved this workout!!! You hit each body part really hard, higher reps with NO rests between sets. I used DB's the entire workout which is easier on my joints. I added Deadlifts at the end to work my lower back. My hip flexors and hamstrings are sore so I could not go as deep as I usually go. Workout was 1 hour and I burned 459 calories. My average heart rate was 118 and my max was 157. My body is in total shock from these workouts. All the workouts go hard core for at least an hour, no breaks and a lot of reps and different rep patterns. I am so sore but I love it!

Debbie, great job getting your treadmill work in today even though you weren't feeling it! Something is better than nothing!:)

Roselyn and Diane Sue, I will be back in a while to read your posts. Legs and Glutes is one tough workout!!! Back in the day it used to kill me!!! I love Cathe's older workouts, I am not sure why, but I do.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Pump workout 1 cardio boxing, 31 minutes, 191 calories. That is all that I had time for today

Debbie, I really think the Fit Bit does better with the step count and does not necessarily take in the heart rate. I get the same thing with using Fit Bit with Map My Fitness, both are using the same heart rate, but it depends on settings with Map My Fitness , for instance I get a lower calorie burn with aerobics as the setting than I get doing the same workout and using martial arts or cardio circuit. I just go ahead and use workout on the setting with the Fit Bit because no matter what I put, spinning, kickbox, etc.., it seems to be low. But, if I do something with a lot of steps, even it is a lighter workout, I get a higher calorie burn. It doesn't make sense. It is just a guideline anyway. At least you know you are not allowing yourself too many calories when you log nutrition if you use the Fit Bit stats. I also wonder if some of the updates have caused the Fit Bit Blaze to have a lower calorie burn. My averages have been much lower lately.

Jolie, which Fit Bit do you have? Just curious!
 
Roselyn, that is such a good workout. For some reason time passes pretty quickly when I am doing it.

I think that I should have went ahead and did STS this week. Some of the activities this week have changed. I went to Walmart today and purchased 40# dumbbells for my husband. When I put them in the cart one of the guys that worked there was helping a woman buy adjustable weights and saw me. He asked if those were 40# and I said yes. He said "You must lift weights" LOL Funny the lady wanted them for her son and wanted 40# and adjustable to add weight to.
The Fit Tower workouts are coming soon :) I am excited that Cathe is going to get the towers for her live class and do some workouts using them in her live workouts. That means even more ways to use it. Although I have already used mine without a specific workout for it.

Today I did the RIPT90 Back Breaker and had an excellent workout!!! Man, I love this workout. This makes me like working my back. I'm shocked my upper body hasn't been hurting, glad it hasn't.

Back Breaker
Sets 1, 2 & 3
Wide Grip Pullups
- 8 reps
Standard Grip Pullups
- 8 reps
Chin Ups
- 8 reps
These are done all in a row three times through. Did all these with my assist band and it was awesome!! I love those bands, so glad I got them. I will be sore in my lats for sure.

Sets 1-5

Double Arm Rows - 20's
Double Arm Explosive Rows - 20's
Plank One Arm Row - 15's/12's - did
Did 5 sets of this sequence for 10 reps each. Last exercise was being in plank position and doing a row. It was 5 reps each side.

Sets 1, 2 & 3
Reverse Flyes - 12's - 3 sets/10 reps

Sets 1, 2 & 3
Pullovers - 25# - 3 sets/10 reps

Sets 1-5
Pushups - skipped
This was supposed to be 5 sets of 20 pushups. I did enough pushups on Monday.

Workout was 39 minutes, Avg HR was 79, Max was 134, burned 107 calories.

Walked on my treadmill for 2.5 miles.

I'm taking next week off as my DH and I are on vacation. So probably no checkin's after today. I hope you all have a great week and I'll see you when I start back!!!
 
This morning I did Jari Love Extremely Ripped 1000, 79 minutes (this is a bit longer because had to let Gertie in and out during the workout) average heart rate 131/max 172, 548 calories. This would come out to a met value of 6.5 which I don't think is accurate for how hard I was working. I did the step option and generally stayed with the higher weights and more advanced moves. There was a couple of should segments that I kept at the 5# Jari and the other women used since even the advanced one in the back was using 5 , I figured I would be in trouble with more. I remember doing this one quite a lot though. That was all I did.

Debbie, great workout. Too many push ups make my shoulders hurt. I hope you have a nice vacation. Enjoy :)
 
Today is a rest day for me. I am sore and tired so I thought I better listen to my body. It is hot at night now so I do not wake up feeling refreshed.

Roselyn, I didn't order the new Fit Tower Workouts but if Cathe does a Live class, I will defiantly try it using something else if I can. I use 40 pound DB's only for 1 arm rows in STS Meso 3 with low reps.

Jolie, I have the Blaze too. I was wondering because sometimes my heart rate is near where yours is on workouts and I get way less calories. I wonder what exactly is their method of figuring calories. Debbie has the Blaze too and hers is way low on heart rate. It doesn't make sense. It seems most things calculate by average heart rate , but then I am noticing with some it depends on what type of workout you are using in settings too. Not just average heart rate. I sometimes get annoyed with it. I checked metabolic rates and for the calories I used today it would have only been a met value of 6.5 and I know I was working harder than that. Also, Fit Bit actually had me at 409 calories. I went between that and the 647 calories Map My Fitness had and the Fit Bit along with using the calories burned net calories on my calculator which is what I used and also looking back at the over 600 calories I burned in past workouts. I just think it is wrong.
