HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR TUES NOV 23

Yesterday, I did Santa Monica (Art of Strength) minus the rope segment. Holy night that is a workout :D 8 rounds w/ about 1 min rest in between rounds
1. figure 8 to hold-3 min
2.turkish getups-5 minutes straight!
3-swings(one arm and alternating)-3 min
4-chest press/squats to jump squats
...5-overhead squats/high pulls/staggered squats (one leg)
6-shoulder press to windmill/suitcase deadlift to row/flip to squat
7-press to get up/plank w/ hip drop/snatches
8-reverse lunges w/ twist/squats to hold and jumps/open palm presses

I woke this morning with a squeaky voice and sore throat. I turned off the alarm. Workout was shorter than planned. I did Body Max 2 w/up & power circuits then Body Max Power Circuits finishing with Body Max 2 str. Workout was. 67 min and calories burned was 463. Max HR 157.

Today was cardio and I received my new Cathe workouts yesterday. Thought I'd give Intensity a try so I chose the Step/Hiit Lo premix. Didn't like it. Too much jumping, plyos, etc. I should have known this workout would be like this. I did about 20 minutes of it and then said screw it. My right knee started to bother me and I figured it wasn't worth it.

Pulled out a workout I have never done before. It's Cathe's Low Impact Step - the one where she has the really small step instead of the regular long one. It was a pretty basic step workout but I got my HR up pretty well by making some of the moves power moves. It was a fun workout.

Then I did the Ab work from High Reps. That was a real burner and one to work up too. I had a hard time getting all the way through it, especially because the tops of my legs were burning so bad. I'll be doing this one again and again. Loved it.

CARDIO STATS:
53 minutes total
2 minutes below zone
12 minutes in zone
38 minutes above zone
432 calories burned

Not too bad. I'll probably do Intensity again, but not sure it will be a favorite.

I got home from dropping off my granddaughters. Took awhile to get back here. The grandbaby put pillows up against the fireplace screen(it is a gas fireplace) I went in the bathroom to dry my hair, door open, and came out and they were smoking:eek: So I had to throw them in the sink. Then she dug dirt out of the plants I brought in from outside. Then I go outside to dispose of the burned pillows and I lock myself out:rolleyes: I had to use the keypad to get in through the garage. Not much time for anything around here. She is shutting herself in the dog crate now. Maybe I should lock it heh, heh. Just kidding! SHe was trying to get the dog to come in too but the dog said no way. Fortunately I washed the dogs bedding last night. She is so busy. I had in the back of my mind to do yoga but think I will skip it for now. I used 15 and 20lb dumbbells and a 45lb barbell for the Body Max power circuit workouts. I will try to get the MIS weight work in another day.

Debbie, I have only preordered the STS total body from Total Fitness. I will get the others soon. I love doing ab work. I will look forward to getting that one.

Roselyn, I had oatmeal this am too. I put black strap molasses, almonds, and 1/2 scoop vanilla whey in it.

Theresa, I like the sounds of the moves in Santa Monica. I don't have that one.

Debbie - Aw...hopefully you will like the other workouts:) Only reason I didn't order, I have way to many workout dvd's that I haven't open yet. I plan to start STS 2011, it's really ashame:confused: I paid all that money and haven't even completed them. Still nice workout;)

Diane - Hope you are not getting sick, even so, your workout was good.;)

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I'm sorry I have been MIA this week - my internet at home still isn't working. It should be fixed sometime today (or so they tell me!). Anyway, I also received my new DVD's yesterday, so I decided to do STS Total Body this morning. It was a good workout, although I didn't do the 65% 1RM because I haven't been doing much in terms of weight lifting over the past few weeks, and also because I wanted to get a feel for the workout. I would say I did about 50-60% for most exercises and really felt like I got a good workout.

Debbie - I guess I shouldn't crack open Intensity tomorrow then.... I was considering trying it for my planned cardio day, but all of those plyos and jumping sequences just doesn't sound like fun.....maybe I'll have a change of heart tomorrow morning. ;) BTW, I am still doing one of your rotations (think it was the fat burning intermediate rotation). Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Roselyn - I saw your post from last night, but couldn't respond because my internet kept timing out - ARGH. I was previewing the workouts last night and hope to at least try all of them over the next week or so.

Diane Sue- It sounds like you get quite the workout just chasing that child around! LOL  She does sound busy....just like grandma! :p I hope you are feeling better now and the sore throat doesn't persist.....I hate getting sick. :(

Theresa - That looks like quite the workout - WHEW!!! How is the personal training coming along? I give you all of the credit in the world....you have to have a LOT of patience to teach people. :)

Teddygirl - That sounds like you had a great time. Having friends over is so much fun! Enjoy your day off - you have been working so hard! :)

Lori - I was thinking about your dilemma - not liking the cold weather, etc., and I came up with any idea. How about hooking Skyler up to a dog sled? :D I have never seen an "Iditerod (?sp) Beagle".......just a thought. :p Seriously, I found some cheap snow shoes 2 years ago at a local thrift store and I was able to get quite a bit of use out of them last year. It was amazingly good exercise!

Ok...I should get back to work. I hope I can post at home soon and I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks about the new workouts!

Have a great day!

Cheryl

I am feeling better this evening. I plan on having grandchildren around off and on over the long weekend. My 13 year old granddaughter is going Christmas shopping with me. DD and family took me to dinner this evening. I got a Tai dish peanut dish. Hopefully tomorrow I do better on my workout.

Roselyn, I look forward to your review if you do the lower body workout.

Cheryl, I hope you get your internet working. I know it can be frustrating. I will probably have Total Body sometime next week. I never start a new workout at full strength the first time through. Especially Cathe. You may find yourself doing a ton of low ends or something:D
