Ponytail all the way! I can't even do ab work with my hair down - it gets in my face. I hate that. As for lifting - I can't even imagine putting the bar on my shoulders with my hair down - OUCH!!!

UpUpUP!

Nothing like geting smacked in the face with the flying hair then having it stuck there!

I don't even like the ponytail sticking down my back! (My hair is pretty long!) The last twist through the ponytail holder I double or triple up the hair to make it even shorter!

This is about the workout. Not the looks!x(

I do the same thing Terri does! My hair is really long (down to the middle of my back and THICK). When Iam bouncing around, a ponytail would whip me in the face too hard to be comfortable. Then it also flops all over my sweaty back. And when I am doing floor work on my back, it is uncomfortable to rest my head on the floor with a ponytail that is too low. I like it up high and twisted through the ponytail holder.

Mine is past the middle of my back, and it is also thick. I keep it in a very high ponytail when I do cardio.

My cat loves those too, they disappear off my night stand, lol. She also loves the milk rings off of the milk jugs. She hears me take them off and waits for me to throw it to her.

Ponytail and about six thousand bobby pins to catch loose strands. I find them all over the carpet after I workout. I literally shower bobby pins around me.

I always wear mine up 'cause it just drives me nuts otherwise. But, when I lay down to do situps I'm always irritated by the little bump at the back of my head and rip it out. It's really a nuisance when doing a circuit.

lol, that's exactly the reason why I wear pigtails... plus they're cute.:D

I've always put my hair up in a high ponytail when I work out I can't stand it getting around my face when I'm exercising esp. when I'm pouring sweat everywhere .

I guess I am the only freak here...when my hair was straight I would ponytail it...but now that it is curly I cannot handle the tangles.

Oh well, at least I am only slinging the sweat on myself at home!

I can't even do a ponytail -- it has to be a bun, so the hair isn't in my face. Have you ever had a wet ponytail slap you in the face?

I also bobby pin every fly-away piece of hair out of my face. But I'm just weird that way I guess.

I wear mine down and am serious about my workouts. I used to pull it up and finally realized that the bands and barettes were breaking my hair off in the back. Now I just deal with it and don't have the problem. I do have really fine thin hair that is fragile, colored, and breaks easily.

Yes certainly Diane Sue you do workout seriously.

This is actually a pretty silly thread - in our HS the girl who won the 2 mile - 2nd for the state - in 11 mins - wears her hair down.

There certainly are a lot of more important things in life that whether or not others wear their hair up or down <sigh>

Every last strand needs to be out of sight! My hair is just at the point where I can get it all up into a pony. If any of it falls out during the workout, it distracts me. On Saturday I was doing Imax 2 and I had my daughter take a barrette out of her hair (much to her dismay!) so that I could pin back a straggler and not have to stop my workout!

It was pretty challenging to get that barrette in and not have to stop my mambo-chacha!!!
