Maybe this is part of my recurring fitness snobbery, but I just don't get how women with long hair don't wear it up when they're at the gym. Or even working out at home. At the gym I'd be afraid of getting it caught in some equipment. At the gym or at home I just can't imagine having my sweaty hair flying all over the place while I'm trying to get a serious, intense workout.

I can't help but think women at the gym who don't wear it in a ponytail aren't necessarily at the gym for serious exercise, if you know what I'm saying.

Thoughts?

I usually want mine off of my face and my neck. I don't really like the feeling of sweaty hair sticking to my skin. But, if I am doing something non-sweaty, like yoga or stretching, I might just use barrettes to get it off my face.

I hate hate hate having sweaty hanks of hair smacking me in the face when I work out. It goes in either one ponytail or two, as high off my neck as I can get it. And the bangs get clipped back off my face.

I have short hair, but sometimes wear a headband to keep it off my face. When my hair was long enough, I always wore it in a ponytail. And actually, I'm just posting here to try to catch up with Shelley's post count.

My hair's not quite long enough for a ponytail but I must have it off my face and neck so I use about a gazillion bobby pins.

My hair is currently too short for a pony tail but too long to be left "as is" so I put in back in a head band. This works well for me right now.

When I had long hair I had it in a pony tail for EVERY work out! Sometimes it would bother me during ab work but that was always at the end of a work out so I could take it out....:)

I wear hair clips and a thin head band I do not like my hair in my face while working out I also can't stand it when I drive my truck and all windows are rolled down and it is all in my face but I can not stand air conditioning I live in Michigan so I want as much fresh air as I can get.

Every time I go outside to pick up dog poo, I forget to pull my hair back and it makes me absolutely CRAZY!!! You think I'd learn my lesson. I mean it really gets me angry. And it's not like I can just run back in and pull it back b/c I'm already contaminated (well, not really, but you know).

As for working out - ponytail AND bobbypins for the shorter layers that won't quite fit.

ponytail of course! I've actually gone to the gym and found that I don't have a ponytail holder in my bag, and left the gym without working out.

6 mornings a week: I roll out of bed, put on my workout gear and pull my hair into a ponytail! Even when I lift I still put my hair into a ponytail. I don't want it caught in the barbell or sweaty on my neck. I want to be able to concentrate!!

my hair is too short for ponytail and i am glad because it does not get in my face and my complection is alot better. plus my hairstylists says it shows my face more cut short. i still buy ponytails in a variety of colors for my cat. she loves to run and jump and will play by herself. she mostly likes it when i throw the ponytail at her real high and leaps off the groud to try and catch it.

Lol! Love the cat story!
my hair is just long enough for a ponytail--barely. it doesn't get caught when I use weights, though. I get a headache the minute I put it in a ponytail though, even if it's a loose ponytail. So I only put it up for light workouts. Working out hard with a headache from my ponytail makes me nauseous.

My hair is cropped super short.... so there is no up or down! My DD wants me to grow it long (like Barbie) but I'm standing my ground on this one.

My hair is too short right now for a polytail (unless I do pigtails). I usually just wear an absorbant headband.

<<Bunbun,
I thought for sure you wore your hair...in a bun...bun:p:p:p>>

Hahahah!! It's not long enough! Bunbun is a more accurate description of the shape of my rear. }(
