Good Grief, I got tested for H1N1

I was sick, sick, sick, and finally went to the doctor. I had a killer sore throat and a cough that would make me puke. The doctor swabed my nose and throat and tested me for H1N1 and they made me wear a mask. The doctor wore a mask the whole time he was in the room with me.

Ok, and I'm coughing into my elbow like they have been telling everyone to do and it's cold in the doctors office so I cross my arms and tuck in my hands and I'm thinking - great I just put my hands in my elbow where I coughed. A lot of good that did.

It turned out to be bronchitis. It's been 2 weeks and I'm just starting to feel better. It was a little strange to be treated like I had H1N1 !

they just did the same thing to viola, my daughter, and a few other children that were in immediate care yesterday. its better to be safe then sorry b/c if my daughter or any other of those children did have it they would have most likely spread it to the other children(including newborns) in the waiting room at the office not to mention at school if we didn't notice that her cough wasn't sounding right.

my daughter just had upper respiratory infection but her cough was pretty bad and her fever was so high they couldn't risk getting their butts in hot water if somebody got sick b/c they didn't take precautions. the only way they know if its N1H1 is the test otherwise i would have just thought regular cold or flu.

I don't blame them for taking some precautions against someone with symptoms of a virus like the H1N1. It's standard to see people in clinics these days taking those precautions so they don't get sick themselves.

Oh and I forgot. It's also important to identify those who have the virus. So they can stay at home and not spread it to others, particularly those who are at high risk. So even though yours was negative the testing and the precautions were all in line ;)

I just went to the doctor yesterday afternoon as I thought I might have a sinus infection. I had to wear a mask while I was there, too. It's definitely an upper respiratory virus (no fever, though) but not flu. As I was checking out, the ladies at the front were talking with another patient about how the day before they had 19 confirmed cases of swine flu.
