Glute Workout

There are alot of articles that claim that running stadium stairs is good for working the glutes. However, I do not have a stadium near my home. Can anyone recommend exercises that might be similar to running stadium stairs? Also, is there any home exercises that resembles using the butt blaster at the gym? As you can tell I need help in that area.

Thanks.

Hi Kimmy,
There was a post about this before that will be very helpful to you , Here's the link with suggestions to mimick the butt blaster, other exercises and also a neat website with lowerbody pics

I also suggest using your own stairs as an option to stadium stairs(you can use a stop watch, skip steps to increase intensity and possibly use a backback full of books for weighted resistance)
PS Leg Presses too(how could I forget them }(

I'd walk the steps instead of running them. I used to run stadium steps for years and I am here to tell you that the pounding on the knees, feet, etc. is extreme. Two steps at a time is a good suggestion too.
Also why not try something like deadlifts and step ups with dumbbells instead of the glute blaster. If you are looking to just tone up, equipment like the blaster and adductor/abductor machines are fine. But if you want to add some bulk to say, a flat ass for instance, you need to get on a smith machine or grab some dumbbells and do something more relevant like squats, deadlifts, and lunges.
Try it. Believe me it works!

My husband and I would go to a local hotel and casually walk in ~ like we were guests ~ and hit the stairs. There were 5 flights that we would run as fast as we could 20 times or more. Loads of fun.

Ha Susan! That is too funny. Did they STILL think you were guests there after seeing you start up the flight of steps your 20th. time????

Luckily we never saw anyone in the stairwell while we were there. Plus there was side door out to the parking lot that we could leave out of, so we didn’t have to pass the front registration counter again ~with beat red faces. hahaha
