Okay I know that there not really good for you because of all the stuff thats pumped into them but they taste sooooooooo good especially the smart ones santa fe rice and beans and the chicken and cheese quesedilla ones ummmmmmm yummy I by them when the go on sale and I try not to eat them so much about twice a week.

I don't know what to say to you. Except maybe say; PROCESSED. Those foods are intended to make you addicted to them. The more you want them the more likely it will be harder to get off them.

You can make them yourself without the chemicals and cr@p inside them.

Please stay healthy,

Janie

Some frozen entrees are better than others, but many are very high in sodium, (and highly processed). Just read the label (the ingredients label, not the front label, which is just full of hype to make you want to buy the food), and make the best choice possible. Twice a week doesn't sound that bad.

Moderation yes and your right about eating a whole a lot of worse things like a yummy double cheese burger from McDonald's. Sometimes eating clean every day gets a little boring.

Okay this may sound kinda weird and bag ladyish but I save the containers from the frozen entrees and I use them again with dinners I make at home wrap them up and freeze them. It's nice because those dishes are really small and it helps with quantity control.

Yeah, they're processed but they're better than eating a Big Mac and fries and at least I get some vegetables and portion control. I don't eat them every day but they're better than skipping a meal and they're certainly better than a ton of alternatives out there.

Don't knock the Lean Cuisines. ;) :p

I second that. Kashi makes them too they dont have too much variety but they are also pretty good. They also have oatmeal which is great it has flaxseed in it already and has 9 grams of protein and 150 calories I think 6 grams of fiber

I'm all for recycling, but with the safety of heating foods in plastic in a microwave being questionable in the first place, I would worry about the plastic breaking down from reheating, and being more apt to get into the food.

the only one i like is South Beach diet chicken wraps and have it with my homemade Tart and Tangy bake beans which have no ketchup and a salad with homemade balsimic and red wine dressing

"Frozen entree" what a fancy way to say TV Dinner. I used to love those nasty swanson dinners that came in the foil trays back in the day.

I hear ya! When I was little, my parents would let us have those maybe once or twice a year, when they were going out or something. Let me tell you, those were big nights for us kids! It's crazy how we considered Banquet tv dinners a treat. I was jealous of my friends who got them far more often. How dare my mom make us eat REAL food all those other days of the year!

Yes...and I feel bad I was such a picky eater because my mom was a cook by trade, and a very good one I have come to realize!

We'd have them once in a while also. Ah, the peas, the corn, the apple crisp...

What I (and several of my BFL checkin buddies) have been doing is making big batches of healthy entrees and freezing or refrigerating them on the weekends.

It's convenient during the week and probably cheaper. I took the Spring issue of Clean Eating Magazine and made all 5 of the recipes in the "5 Meals for under $60" section and froze or refrigerated them. Each recipe makes 4-8 servings so I had lots of meals for cheaper than the $60 because alot of the items were on sale. (I think my total grocery bill was about $48).

Just some thoughts....it's easier to control portions and ingredients that way. Plus they're very good! :9
