Friday PEEPsters

LauraR

Cathlete
I'm finally joining the land of the living! We're headed out of town for the weekend, but I think Monday I'll be back en force to the workout scene.

Wendy--Your butternut squash pasta dish was delicious. Thanks!

Robin--I make pumpkin bread, banana bread, and zucchini bread all the time here. But I've never made cranberry bread. Sounds delicious.

Which makes me think . . .

Heather--Yes!! You could definitely send me something from Texas! :) One of my biggest challenges here is finding healthy snacks, and also finding good sources of high fiber. So I MISS Fiber One granola bars. Great snack. High fiber. 150 calories each. The caramel ones are yummy when eaten with a small apple because it's like eating a caramel apple (but you get 35% of your fiber!). Yum.

I'd love some peaches too, when they're in season, but don't think those would mail so well. :D Lol.

But seriously, I love every flavor of Fiber One bars, so if the mailing mood strikes you, you'd be my friend. (And you're still my friend if the mailing mood doesn't strike you.) Just a word of warning, the postage to Africa means that you'll probably spend as much or more on the shipping as you do on the bars themselves.

Dani, JJ, Vilma, Catherine, Karin, Kel, Ellie, and any others . . . waves and cheers to you.

Internet was crazy yesterday, so I didn't get to post, but I DID drink all my water. I'm way behind already for today, so I'll go grab my mug! :)

See you Monday.

Good morning Peepers.

Laura, have fun this weekend. I have a box of Fiber One bars on the shelf, but haven't tried them yet. Some folks at work were complaining that they have a bad side affect on them. One girl said her son ate two and thought he was gonna die! Guess they don't affect you the same way, huh?

We got wonderful news last night. DD's boyfriend called. He's in the Army Natl Guard and has been deployed in Afghanistan since last Thanksgiving. He arrived in Fort Bragg yesterday and should be home in five days. That is an answered prayer!

I'm headed to Hershey tomorrow for a Catheland GTG. I'm not sure who will be there. I'm nervous/excited.

Oh, and I'm planning on doing GS C&T this afternoon after work. Have a great Friday all!

Peeps- Good Morning!

Never did do Viper in lieu of a rest day yesterday :( because as soon as I logged off here and started to set up, the hubby walked in and said he couldn't sleep and so out we went.

Thats what I love about kettlebells - nothing to set up if you just want to do a round of swings to get the HR up. Oh well. lol

Had a nice day yesterday just being a couple and then he wanted Chinese food which do not agree with my stomach at all. I rarely eat that sort of food and I always end up getting the same problem which my 18 yr old DD proceeded to remind me while I was moaning & groaning - ugh.

So today on the agenda is The Kettlebell Way and continue to flush out yesterday's meal of Chinese food .

JJ have you ordered The Kettlebell Way 2? That one sounds like its going to be a good one. I have Newport and that one moves fairly quickly and I'm working on sections at a time after my regular kbell workout 1 - 4 sections at a time. Thats all I pretty much know. Are you still taking sessions w/ Andrea Ducane?

Laura - Have a great weekend . I need to go back and look at Wendy's butternut squash pasta dish - sounds really good.

Robin Your DD's boyfriend's troop is probably being replaced by my DD's boyfriend - he is also in the National Guard and getting ready for a 10 month deployment over there - Ugh not looking forward to her mood swings.

Being an Air Force wife for over 20 + yrs it was tough when my hubby was deployed but he's a grenade launcher and will be out there in the filed which makes me so nervous :( He's a really good and decent kid and I just pray he gets back home in one piece and safe.

Oh what a fun weekend you have planned a Cathe GTG ! So nice!

Have a wonderful day Peeps!

Vilma, sorry about the Chinese food debacle. My DD did pretty well while her boyfriend was gone. He came home for a 3 week leave in July. It was harder on everyone when he left the second time! He was the company sniper, which had us all nervous too.

Good Friday morning Peeps!! I have a KB session with Katie this afternoon. Tomorrow I am getting together with Kara and Rhondalyn from KY!! We will be having lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!!

Robin, so glad to hear about your DD's BF!! I hope you have a good time at the GTG!!

Laura enjoy your weekend away.

Vilma, how do you like the KB Way? I only have Lauren's dvd and will be wanting to expand my KB w/o soon :)

I am loving Friday!!!!

Robin- so happy to hear your news!!! Don't you wish we could bring them all home?? I would have loved to come to Hershey to meet everyone. But, it's a little too far with son's problems right now. I'd end up having a panic attack and having one of you drive me back to NJ. Did I mention I'm afraid of bridges??? I think Gayle (banslug) is going. She's wonderful. You'll have a great time. Give her a hug for me. She's coming down to stay for a weekend in Dec. so we can do a Cathe class.

Catherine- enjoy your get together too. And have a BIG piece of cheesecake for me!! I mean really big. You can do it, especially after your KB workout today!!!

Vilma- me and Chinese food are a No-No!!! I always end up spending more time in the bathroom than anything. I wish your DD friend didn't have to go. It's scary. How did you survive being an Air Force wife? Did you have to move all the time???

Laura- enjoy your weekend out of town!! Where are you going?? What time is it there?? I guess I could look it up. You have gotten me back on my water drinking track! Thanks

I hope all Peeps who follow have a great day

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Happy Friday! I am pressing on with the 4-Day Split plus Cardio Coach in the pool. If I am missing in action for a few days or the whole season, it is because I have tied my hands behind my back or locked myself in my room until the first week in January to keep from eating myself silly with all the tempting food. Christmas Peeps are in my freezer. I can burn off 40 calories for a fat free frozen Peepsicle! I am staying far away from the dark chocolate enrobed pecan pie!

Karin, welcome back! I missed you! How is your dad feeling? You will love the 4-Day Split. It is one of Cathe’s best and my personal favorite series. The choreography is fun, and the weight work is efficient and effective. It is the only series that gives me consistent strength gains every week. I have high hopes for STS. I am encouraged to know that the bonus exercises in STS are the ones that strengthened your knees. Hopefully, this will help me too.

Laura, it would be my delight to send you a care package. I mailed a magazine to a friend in Australia and just about fell over when the postal clerk told me how much it would cost to send it. Eek! I have never tasted those bars before, but I will look for them this weekend. Send an e-mail to me with your address.

Robin, have fun at Hershey Park! I love that place! Congratulations on the great news. What a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas for your family.

Vilma, I love the Gauntlet. If I never see the Viper again, it will be to soon. LOL! Are you sensitive to MSG? That may explain your reaction to Chinese food.

Catherine, give Rhondalyn a big hug for me. She lost her little doggie this week in a tragic accident. Give Muffie and Bisquit hugs for me too. Enjoy a piece of cheesecake for me. Yummy!

Ellie, I hope you have a peaceful weekend. I laughed at your post about driving in Philadephia. Those Philly drivers are nuts! Talk about tailgating!

Hugs and waves to Dani, Wendy, and all the other Peeps who check-in today.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Ellie, I wish you could join us tomorrow. It would be nice to meet you. I've met Gayle and am looking forward to seeing her. I'm not sure who else will be there.

Catherine, please give Kara a big hug from me and tell her I miss her. I know she was going through some "stuff" and I hope all is well with her.

Heather, isn't this time of year awful for those of us who love to eat? All those goodies. I try to remember moderation in all things. It doesn't always work that way though.

Guten Morgen, Peeps!

I had a great workout this morning--I did Drill Max cardio + leg drills 1-5. (I really hate the lunges with the ball/scissor move in #6 so I called it a day after leg drill #5, LOL.) But this workout makes me HUNGRY! I'm wolfing down a bowl of oatmeal with cranberries as I type...

Laura--I'm so glad you enjoyed the squash pasta! I'm having it for lunch today. :) Have fun this weekend!!

Robin--What great news about DD's boyfriend. A true blessing. I'm so jealous you are going to Hershey! I saw that on Samantha Brown's Great Hotel Series on the Travel Channel and I would love to go there sometime. It looks like so much fun!! And to get to go and meet some Cathe folks? Now I'm uber jealous, LOL!

Vilma--Ugh, nothing is worse that eating out and then discovering it did not agree with your stomach!! I hope you are feeling much much better today!

Catherine--Your Cheesecake Factory get together sounds awesome! What kind of cheesecake are you going to get???? I'm actually not a big cheesecake fan, but since their cheesecakes taste like other things, I do eat it there. Makes no sense, I know...

Heather--Ah, yes, resisting temptaion from now until January 2nd is a challenge!! I find the bite or two then put it away theory works for me. If the chocolate pecan pie is calling, however, a round of Drill Max should burn it off...LOL!

Off to drink my coffee with Carmel Apple Creamer!! Yea! BTW, you might think I secretly work for Coffee-Mate with all the endorsements I give them, but I promise I do not. Just a Coffee-Mate junkie, that's all! LOL

:) Wendy

Morning Peeps:

I have cardio on the schedule but I'm still feeling a little queasy so I might take today off. Maybe I'll practice some KB moves.

Laura~ Sounds like you are feeling better. I am so addicted to being on the internet, I think I'd go crazy without it:confused: Have a fun weekend.

Robin~ Great news about DD's BF! That must be difficult for them to be apart for such long periods. My nephew is a captain in the Air Force and will be headed back to Iraq right before Xmas. He's only been married a few years so I know its been hard on them. Have fun at your GTG:)

Vilma~ I'm still taking lessons from Andrea and will be starting her weekly class soon. She told me during one class, they had to do swings for 5 minutes nonstop:eek: I'll check out the KB way...thanks.

Catherine~ Have a good session with Katie. I've been wanting to try the cheesecake factory.....I hear good things about it. Have fun with the girls!

Ellie~ {{hugs}} Sorry you have to miss out on the get together tomorrow but you can look forward to Gayle's visit in Dec. How fun it must be to meet other cathietes and take in a live class. I'm envious;)

Heather~ Glad to see you! Ya know, if you tie your hands behind your back, you could put a pen in your mouth and type on the computer that way:rolleyes: I understand....this is a tough time of year when it comes to food. Hang in there!

Waves HI to Wendy, Dani, Karin and all who follow:)

JJ

Catherine, please give Kara a big hug from me and tell her I miss her. I know she was going through some "stuff" and I hope all is well with her.

Just checking to see if we are talking about the same Kara. I am talking about Kara from N KY not Kara from TN.
