RE: Debbie . . .
Yes Julie, she is onto us....this was all just a planned Debbie trap. he he. I am so glad you are back in the land of the living Julie....I was getting worried!!! Sounds like you had a fun party!!
Julie and Sherry, I had a midhusband for my first birth, but they worked in conjunction with a huge Harrisburg,PA hospital. I get braxton hicks contractions from three months on to the end of the pregnancy for some weird reason. I had them for weeks before I told him and when I did he "spazzed out" and brought in every uterine specialist on the east coast, literally. Everybody studied my uterus and they hooked me up to the "contraction machine" and told me I was in preterm labor. I told them I'd been doing this for weeks, but they said "oh no this isn't normal". (I've never been normal, they should have listened to me - you all could have told them that!!). Being my first baby....I did what they told me and they put me on turbutaline and all kinds of drugs to make these stop, which they never really did. I had a miserable pregnancy and delivery and was very irritated to say the least with doctor's in general and I saw at least 20 different specialists at that time. So next baby, instead of bedrest and taking drugs....I did aerobics. Wonder of all wonders, I went 8 days past my due date with all the same contractions through the whole preg. Baby number 3 same thing but I went 3 weeks past the due date. By this time my DH said....I can do this (referring to delivery). If you knew my DH, you'd realize that he can do anything, it's amazing. So baby number 4, he did all the weekly prenatals and delivered our little boy. Baby number 5 we did an underwater birth (sounded fun!!) and he delivered our baby girl underwater, and it was fun!! I in no way want to imply that everyone should do this.....he has a STRONG belief in the power of God and is quick to say that he delivered these babies with the help of the Lord. And we did so very responsibly, we showed our records to the doctor right before we delivered because we wanted some bloodwork done to be sure of my iron levels, which we closely monitored, and she even commented that we had better records and more thorough weekly checkups than they do at the office. Amazingly, the doctor's couldn't solve my anemia through the first 3 pregnancies with normal methods, we did our own research with baby number 4 and found that raspberry, nettles, alfalfa, and comfrey will help. We had an iron test done around 8 months of pregnancy and the doctor wrote back telling me to discontinue my iron supplements as my blood was off the charts rich and very high iron levels. I told her I hadn't taken ANY vitamins this pregnancy and she wrote down what I was doing to hopefully help others. We have learned so much by taking charge of our own health that is invaluable. So there is the story...everyone is different....some of us are even a little weird (I of course fall into that catagory). Actually....I heard that unassisted childbirth will give you bigger bicep veins ha ha. I know many are pleased with the doctor route and I'm happy for them, this is just our method and we have learned SO very much through dealing with our own pregnancies and deliveries and we've REALLY seen the power or the Lord at work and that's another story. Don't know why I rambled off on this subject....pregnant women LOVE to talk about birth stories, maybe that's it :7 :7 :7 (should have posted on the fitmom forum, oh well, I'm not typing this again!!) .
I will be awaiting your email address Julie, I can't even remember what I wrote you now...I'll have to look back and forward it.
