First Time Posting

PHA is a type of TB workout where you alternate an UB exercise to a LB exercise. They have a definite cardio effect. There are currently 3 dvds: Step Boss' PHA3; LITE's PHA2. & the original Strong& Sweaty's PHA. There are also some in the Cathe Lives (streaming ~$10/month, but included with On- Demand, and often there are coupons/discounts).

Thank you for that information on PHA workouts!!

Regarding the on demand- I tried that with both Jessica Smith and Ellen Barrett. I just don’t like streaming. I don’t like having to navigate through everything. I don’t like all the choices on the screen. I just like popping in a dvd and being done!! Haha

Which one is PHA please? Thanks!
PHA (with no # after it) is part of the Strong and Sweaty series. Before buying individual workouts from a series, you'll want to check out all of the workouts in the series, because it's cheaper to buy the whole set (if you're going to buy them all eventually) than to buy the separate DVDs.

In response for your question regarding less lengthy workouts... Supersets (probably on your Push/Pull DVD) is 55 min, Supercuts (from X-train series) is 45, Flextrain is 50, Power Hour 55, Boss Bands 60 (includes abs if I remember right), Muscle Max's premix timesaver (removes duplicate sets) is 55, and Pyramid Pump (from LITE series- the bonuses from the rest of the set on one DVD make a nice T.B. workout) with pyramid up and pyramid down premixes (both are 3 sets, rather than the 5) being 50 minutes or 1 set of everything being 25 minutes. Some of the ones I've mentioned (ex. Flextrain) are fairly metabolic, so you'll want to look at Cathe's descriptions and video clips or check out reviews on 2 Lazy 4 the Gym to get an idea of what the workouts are all about. T.B. Barbell is around 50 min. Oh, Body Weights and Bands (from LITE series) is just under 45 min. Others have all mentioned the 3 PHA workouts, and I agree that they are excellent. Don't let the length (around 45 min. each fool you) - they are shorter, because there's not much rest time in between, because it's not needed when you go back and forth from upper body to lower body - you're working a different body part during your "rest time". lol

Cathe's workouts are well chaptered, so don't let the length of a workout keep you from trying it. Take a peek see at the menu/chapters/list of exercises and push "skip" on your DVD player to skip duplicate exercises (IF there isn't already a timesaver premix that does that for you). I have restricted time for working out and frequently have to do that. You may also find that you enjoy splits with Cathe. I was always a total body type of gal, but X-Train and the Gym Style series opened my workout style a bit. I still do T.B. most of the time, but about once a month... I'll change things up, because Cathe's workouts are so well designed that I want the benefits from all of them. lol

I have to add that I laughed at your description of Cathe with the bow and arrow "rest". lol She's ornery! I'm constantly "talking" to her and sounding like I'm crazy - my son laughs at me. lol You should have heard some of the things that came out of my mouth (and worse... my thoughts that I couldn't say outloud with my son there lol) when I did Turbo Barre! I was still muttering and mumbling 3 days later, because I had DOMs so bad I couldn't sit on the toilet properly. lol

I believe this was answered, but the workout blender is for those that pay for Cathe on Demand. I, like you, prefer DVDs. I never got into the streaming thing, so I don't have access to the blender.

Thank you, Braille! That’s really great information!! Thanks for taking the time to share all of that! I’m so glad I am not the only one that talks back to Cathe! Haha In fact, I just got Turbo Barre delivered! After reading your post, I think I’ll wait a bit before doing that one!!!:D I hope I can use a chair or my portable barre (which I put in basement because it was taking up too much space). I didn’t see the Fit Tower offered on her website. It said Out of Stock. I did go through a “barre phase” with Barre 3, Bar Method, P57, BarreAmped, Booty Barre, and other offshoots. I haven’t touched those DVDs in months (years??). But, I saw Cathe had barre DVDs and had to buy them because….of course I did. Smh My husband is now like “You got ANOTHER package from that Cathe”. I’m going to have to start intercepting them because he’s starting to get suspicious!! Hehe I’m so glad that I FINALLY tried Cathe!! I never, ever thought I would be able to do her workouts. I was just so intimidated. I still think that way for her cardio but I can, shockingly, hang with some of her strength workouts! I am sure I am not alone for being afraid to try Cathe. She was sort of marketed for the most hardcore type of exerciser- the 1%. So, I never even considered her but I’m glad I did. I was missing out!!

"YES, CATHE. I CAN FREAKING FEEL IT"!!!! She crammed so much in this workout! Although, I did have to laugh that, apparently, her version of "low impact" is the same at The Firm!! Bwahahaha Not too bad though and easy to modify. This is another keeper!!! I'm 2 for 2!!!! Woohooo!!!!!!!:D
You are hilarious:D:D
By the time you complete almost the entire collection, you will write a book full of comment on Cathe's quotes.

You may as well look at this thread talking about Cathe quotes;)
These are just few of them.
