Good morning ladies...

Getting us started for today.....I plan to do something with weights today. I was thinking of one of the new circuit workouts. Yesterday I did Step Max. I had a busy day with LOTS of errands to do and Lauren had drawing lessons. So, I has gone all afternoon. Today the kids have PE class..

Hope everyone is doing well...

Good Morning, Kathy! (and all to follow)

Which new Circuit workout? From

Good news, I got to sleep in until 7:30!!!

Bad news, NO SCHOOL! My poor Alex. He wanted school today (even though it was only half day anyways). And he's sick of winter too. Last night he was making plans for his summer lemonade stand. Making flyers and writing down the things he needs.

But you know, I now have an opened bottle of wine and I'm not afraid to use it!

Today is CCC, so not too much time for my boys to get into trouble. Good thing its not my double shot day!

It's snowing out now and it did all night. Actually, accumulations are "only" 4-6 inches. But the snow is wet and heavy. The power went out twice over night. Greg said the power lines are hanging down into the road at some spots on his drive home from work this morning.

Okay, better go get the kiddies some breakfast (and me!)

BBL!

Good morning! I think Kathy means Circuit Max or whatever it is from shock cardio, right? Hope you enjoyed!! After supersets yesterday, right?

Chris, sorry about no school! It's been raining here again and it's made me think of you -- snow and rain mix -- no fun!! I guess it's snow today? Eh?

I did manage to get in 40/20 yesterday -- my first time. Hard getting there because the boys were having a huge fight, but I did it eventually. Good thing it was a crock pot day! I sort of liked that workout but I hated that she changed the step height!!! And, for goodness sakes, no offense, but she didn't plan it very well -- why didn't she do the change during one of the minute breakes?! I didn't change the height and I had to modify a fair bit.

This morning it was so hard to get up, but I did, and I did NMTZ. I am always amazed at how hard that workout seems with such little weights. But, the very cool thing for me this morning is that I had a noticeable strength gain in my core. Don't know how it happened, but I'll take it!!

I was off line all yesterday afternoon so I'll have to find the thread from yesterday and catch up. Have a great day everyone -- good luck with the snow day, Chris!!

HI ladies..

Chris: Yes, Beth is right I meant one of the new ones from the Shock Cardio. I looked it up and I think I will do Circuit Blast. More snow!! Yuck. They are calling for some here too maybe tonight and tomorrow. I hope it tracks northeast of us like they say it might. Hope the boys take it easy on you today...Sending hugs to you!!

Beth: Yes, that is the workout I am doing. No, I did Step Max yesterday. Gotta give those muscles a day to breathe and relax! HAHA I have to find that thread too. I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday after I posted the thread. Busy day!! I am using the crock pot today too. I am making chicken cordon bleu. I found the recipe online Sunday. I was making pot roast on Sunday using the crock pot and thought I would try other meals with it to save some time at dinner....Love it!! Great workout...40/20 is the toughest on that DVD!

Talk to you all later..Gotta go grade Lauren's math test!!

Kathy, that makes sense..... I didn't think you usually did weights two days in a row (unless maybe for a split).

Went back and read the thread..... I like the cute medic idea! I feel like I'm getting a cold in my nose again! I felt better by yesterday afternoon, obviously. I'm headed to the dr. tomorrow -- mostly cause I haven't been in so long and they didn't want to renew my synthroid script (they did), but I'm going to talk to her about my chest -- ok, my lungs!! -- when I'm there.

The boys were absolutely fantastic on vacation! No fighting at all! Honestly, it was one of the best trips we've had.

Hottie, yeah, I'm really trying to diminish my cardio capacity for you.... I do it all for you! ;) And, I'm sure you didn't lose all your strength from STS -- just get back into the groove and you will feel it, you strong woman, you!

As for stress and eating.... when I'm in the kind of relationship stress you are, I tend to not be able to eat. That and a death in the family. But, other kinds of stress, definitely..... maybe just try to make yourself fix the healthier stuff -- eat it first -- and maybe the stress won't take its toll so much? I know -- it's very hard.

Travis' finger is still messed up, but hopefully he can do his piano lesson tomorrow!!

gotta run...

Oh, Joanne, do tell, which toniques? All? Oh, and Chris, I saw your kickbox thread..... I'm not sure what to tell you other than I find Bento's kickbox workouts impossible to follow (just me?) and I have heard good things about Tracey Stahle's newest. I do like powerstrike, but it may be too slow paced for your taste -- it's nothing like Chalene, that's for sure!

Hi ladies!!

(((Hottie))), that therapy has got to be tough. I hope which ever way everything works out is the best for you, cause you deserve to be happy! I've always been a bit skeptical (maybe not the right word) about couple's therapy. I mean, there's so much history in every relationship - how can a therapist begin to even scratch the surface of the problems, just be what you tell them? I'm not saying it's not good to do, I just wonder how they did through it all. And, of course, everyone is on their best behavior at therapy, I'm sure, so how do they see the "real" people? Yea, sometimes I do stress eat, but not really when there are major things going on. It's more every day stresses that cause me to eat bad. Like, I had a really busy, stressful, no me-time day, I'm going to sit down now and do something for myself - like eat something yummy. Not good. You know, most people, probably 99.9% have great results with Lasik. I always seem to have the weird stuff happen to me. Would I do it again? No, probably not. But, would I tell someone else to do it? Yea, probably, cause if it works, it's great. I just have quirky luck!

Beth, yes, I ordered all three! You know I did! ;) I want to finish out this rotation, but maybe I can sneak one in somewhere before then. I have another week and a half. I'd like to try the mat one - the other ones scare me! Good - get those lungs checked out! You've been sick too long! Maybe they can prescribe something to knock it out of you once and for all. Oh, I know, I was thinking the same thing about 40/20 - bad timing on the step change! It's good to get it over and done with quickly, though, isn't it? Great job on NMTZ!

Chris, I love Amy's Kickbox Surge. The music is awesome. Her step is definitely complicated, but her kickbox is learnable. Especially the newer ones, like Kickbox Surge. Tracey's is good, but doesn't have the same fun factor. Wow, another snow day??? Do they have to make up these days at the end of the year? Mmmm, Alex has the right idea - planning for summer!! At this point it doesn't seem like it'll ever be here. It's snowing again here, too, but they rarely close the schools here. That's got to be hard on parents who work during the day. Oh, so CCC is on the rotation next week? I don't think that's one of my favorites! ;)

Kathy, you always do those fun older Cathe's!! :) I have to pop one in sometime. Circuit Blast was fun, I think you'll like it. How do you make chicken cordon bleu in the crockpot? Sounds good - I need to use ours more.

Well, today was MMA Fusion and GS Legs standing. Oh my - I really liked MMA Fusion, but was hopeless during that second combo where she's rolling up on one leg, kicking, OK - who can do that?? I was a mess, somehow muddled through that, but loved the rest. Different, but fun. GS Legs was tough, but glad it's done! Have to go see what's on tap for tomorrow.

Well, I had more to say, but I've babbled enough and have lots of work to do...so I'll BBL...

Joanne

Read all your posts!

But will come back later, because I'm off to do CCC!

The freakin power went out after doing the warm up this morning!!! I was so pissed, becuase i was so ready to do it!!! (And it's not one of my favorites either, Joanne, so being ready to do it was big for me! LOL!)

The power remained off for 3 hours... *sigh*

Off i go!!!

BBL!!!

Hi everyone...

Finished up with Circuit Blast..That one is a good one. I had forgotten it. So, it felt like a new workout...Now, I need to get ready to take the kids to PE...

Chris: Hope you were able to get your workout in!!

Joanne: It is so easy using the crock pot. The recipe calls for a can of cream of chicken soup (I used the healthy request with lower fat and sodium) and a cup of milk. I mixed those 2 together and put some on the bottom of the crock pot. Then you put a piece of chicken in it and layer it with ham and swiss. Then repeat with another chicken piece and more ham and swiss. The recipe said to use 6 chicken breasts. Then you pour the rest of the soup/milk mixture in the pot top with an 8 ounce box of stuffing and some melted butter. Turn on and it says to cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. I will probably have it on longer. Hope it doesn't dry it out or anything. I will let you know. I found a few other recipes I want to try too...I have a hard time with that Fusion move too..

Beth: Glad your kids were good on vacation. Lauren and chris tend to bicker alot and they did they in Florida too. We had a LONGGGG talk with them on that subject.

Ok, time to get ready to head out..Talk to you later..

Joanne, don't be afraid of the toniques -- you can do them, I'm sure -- and pause if necessary! ;) Let me know what you think.

Yes, I did like getting an intense workout in in 30 minutes. Half of my butt is so sore today -- I wonder if it was from that??

On crock pot cooking..... I read, just this week!, that you need to have the crock pot half full or it will either dry out or just not work. I cooked pork tenderloin in the crock pot yesterday for pulled pork and added some extra liquid to make it up to the halfway mark. It was sooooo goood!

Chris, that's awful about the power!! Did you get CCC done?

Oops, the boys were playing wonderfully and now the fight has started... better go see what happened.....

Hey Girls...

Ah! Electricity! My big VS fluffy white bathrobe and a mug of tea. I'm one happy girl!

I did do my CCC this afternoon! I think I actually had more energy for it when I did it than this morning. But it was still hard! I actually didn't do too bad of a job with the core work though. It was more the cardio moves I was sucking wind on!

Kathy: Circuit Blast is I think the only STS Cardio I haven't done yet. I think maybe I'll try the cardio premix for a cardio one of these times.

Beth: Cool you're getting to the doctors (today or tomorrow?) You've really been sick, like , what? 3 weeks now?

Joanne: Oh that MMA Fusion move where she kicks between her hands, not sure I'll ever get that one either!! ... Oh I'm stuck on what Kickbox workout to get. I decide and then change my mind. And Zach is getting pissed at me, because he wants a PC game and I'm delaying ordering it..

Hottie: Sounds so tough what you're going through. I truly TRULY admire you for trying and going to counseling. So many people would just say "F it". You are so strong , probably stronger than you think. ... I'm a huge stress eater. God, the moment I get all anxious , i find myself craving "crap food". It's really bad. I do try to eat "non crap food" first, if I'm not too bad. Or I'll make a big bowl of oatmeal and put chocolate/pb chips on it to get all melty, and eat it all! That helps, instead of eating a bag of hershey bars. .... COOL that you did Step Moves!!! See, didn't you love it??? How about a good IM2 to cheer you up??

I've been typing here and playing on iTunes. I just re found the song, "To Sir With Love" by Lulu. It's one of those songs that brings your soul back to an innocent time. I remember watching this movie with my mom and dad YEARS ago. I need to find that movie.

Super late check in guys -- I did the P57 30 minute express workout. I had no reason to be pushed for time other than that I really, REALLY like watching the pretty boy from White Collar act badly. I'm just a sucker for a certain type of look. Damn you DVR! Still pretty hard for me though (the workout)! So, I got something. I also just walked a mile around campus so something, right?

Kathy -- i really want to do Circuit blast again. I had hurt my back all last week so I barely could do much but all I kept on thinking about was that workout! Maybe this weekend. I like slow cookers a lot too but I think I'm home so little nowadays that I just can't use it. I don't really like having something like that on if I'm out of the house for 11+ hrs, you know? (also the heating element on my thing is a little funky too)...but I really love food out of a slow cooker. But in the meantime, I still give my pressure cooker all the love it needs...

Beth -- you know, I eat if its around me. At work I barely eat anything when I'm stressed but it's really not around me (because I have to pay out the nose for it). But at home, we have all this junk and it lands up in my mouth. It was funny because my mom was talking to me on the phone to check up on me and we got on the subject of how my skin has improved dramatically in the last couple years and while I was attributing it to using the right products she turned to my diet. And then she said, have you eaten? yes, I have. What did you eat? Ice cream, ramen, and cold pizza...in that order. What kind of breakfast is that? A crappy one? Then she took back everything she said about my diet being better. :)

Joanne -- so I was really insistent on (and this may have been the biggest mistake I've made unfortunately), waiting until Joe was used to going to therapy/counseling on his own so we wouldn't just go together and he would just...you know...be so nice that it made me look like a crazy person? The last guy we went to (and it was my urging that we choose a man over a woman for this) was pretty good. But I think a big part of it was that he was really good at asking questions and the both of us were good about answering and directing the session. I really try hard to just be me in the sessions and I try to just talk the way I would normally but I've been going off and on for a couple years now. (ok, does this make me sound crazy then?) Actually, it was sort of weird...the first person we went to as a couple would wince whenever I would drop a four letter word (but not when joe did) and the second person was just so la-la that she thought my making some offhand comment about nothing really at all was me letting it loose (she also managed to be racist within the first five minutes so...yeah....we weren't going back to her). but this last guy was pretty quick and on it fast. Joe made a comment about, I think he's jumping to conclusions but he's jumping to the right ones. So, I guess you have to shop around for a while...but I'm not sure how well it works either. My mother did tell me that in India -- such a conservative country -- that everyone there has therapists...it's possibly more "chic" in some circles than in this country. I thought THAT was pretty interesting. That's good to know about the LASIK -- it's good to hear your story because I have quirky luck too!

Chris -- I think I saw on FB that you got CCC done? Awesome then! I still dont' think i'm going to try it for a while though...I have to figure out that whole egtting on the hard ground thing...

Ok, I think I'm going to buy myself a burger since I'm stuck at lab until 7p tonight...
