Elln: how are the group reformer classes going?

You don't feel like you are working out - I don't sweat but I sure feel it the next day!

I have had 4 different instructors - 3 of whom were GREAT!!!! So, look out for Bill, Rachel and Joey (female). They were great! I was not thrilled with Elizabeth. And believe me the instructor makes all the difference.

However, there is ONE exercise that has given me a problem. It's doing a split into a lunge - might have strained my knee ligament! So, I have to avoid that one!!!

But, all in all - it has been an interesting experience! Right now I only go on Sat. and Sun. because Rachel and Joey teach the classes! Be prepared for a tiny studio - they charge the prices that they do because of their overhead. In April, they are opening up a 2nd studio on East 64th Street.

let me know how you like it!

Ellen,
I don't know how I could have missed your response to my post, but thank you so much. I am hoping to take my free introductory class this week. How many people do they fit into the tiny studio? I thought the studio would have to be very large to fit all of those reformers in one room.

Are you still liking it? How is your knee doing? Did you talk to the instructor about your knee? Thank you for giving me your name, which I will mention when I make the appointment.

I'm really excited. It's such a brilliant idea. I am perpetually envious of my wealthy clients who can afford one-on-one pilates training and look like a million bucks, but the prices were just so astronomical. What a totally brilliant idea to bring real pilates to the masses like this in classes that us commoners can afford.

I am enjoying the group reformer classes, I found a class in NJ, so I am going there on Saturdays http://www.njcallanetics.com/ and to NY on one day during the week. I feel my muscles more after 1 class than I do after lifting weights. I am hoping that this strengthens my core - I can't imagine that it wouldn't. But I am still doing 3x a week on the Elliptical and 2 1-hour walks - so hopefully, in my lifetime, I will see change. I will be happy with just a "glimpse of a waistline"!!! Bought a Circle and some good videos at http://www.stottpilates.com/videos/at-home.html - you might want to try. Also sent you this message a while ago

Remember, to look for classes with BILL, Rachel and Joey. They are excellent and BILL is terrific!!!
