I don't post much so I was waiting to see if anyone else replied first. Anyway, I had a situation similar to yours. I felt something "tweaky" in my elbow while doing pushups on the stability ball. I didn't think much of it, but my elbow continued to bother me no matter if I did plenty of icing and resting or continued working out. Turns out that I had chipped off a piece of cartilage and it was floating around in my elbow joint. The surgery to remove it was minor, and I had minimal pain. The worst part was dealing with some tendonitis probably caused from the mild trauma of having a scope inserted in my elbow in 4 places.
Anyway, if you find a good brace and it doesn't help you might want to have it checked by a good ortho doc.
