I have last year's model - the GX 3.0. I think it is a great spin bike for the home. At times, I will reach the max tension on it, but it is fine, and I get an excellent workout. One thing I will say is that it is HEAVY!! When we discussed bikes last year on the forum, one Cathlete mentioned bringing the bike into her home and putting it together herself! I am not at all mechanically inclined and I am a wimp, lol. The UPS driver left the box in my driveway, and I could not even move that package one inch! Thank goodness for my DH. He brought the bike inside and put it together for me. HTH!
Thanks, Carol!!! Do you have any problems with the toe cages, handlebars, resistance knob (is it easy to turn), or height adjustments (how tall are you)? I have never spinned/spun before so I don't really know what to look for. TIA!
Betty
No problems with any of those things you mentioned. I am short - 5'3". The bike is comfortable enough for someone my size, yet everything can be adjusted easily to accommodate anyone's needs. Please know that I did buy spin shoes. Cathe recommended them, and I am glad she did. I don't like spinning with soft sole shoes. There is definitely a difference. I don't have cleats in my shoes, but may get them at some point. I'm still on the fence there. As I mentioned previously, you may reach the max tension limit on this bike during your workout, but you still get a good workout. Just do some standing hill climbs, or hover jumps, and you will feel it!
