I sort of feel like I am "putting myself out there," but I am betting that one of you can answer this so I decided to post anyway.

BF was deployed with the military for 16 months & returned about one year ago. We are & he is still having difficulties (w/several things) and he has recently had added pressure. I feel so badly fo rhim but I don't know what I can do to help. I feel like I need some advice but don't know where to go. I know that coming here is a place where I have similar experiences to you guys & that I get all sorts of help, advice and guidance. I thought that maybe going to a board with people that are in the same boat might help w/these issues. Does anyone know of a support board on line like this??

Hi,

I don't know of any support boards for military families but I am sure someone here will know of one.

I am married to an Active Duty military man and do understand what you may all be going through. Have you tried going to the family support center on base? They will have websites and stuff you can go to and/or counseling sessions and classes that may help.

You can also e-mail me if you would like. My husband is going back to Iraq the end of August.

I hope things get worked out for you.

I don't know of any boards but I do know that you may want to try calling mental health services for Tricare. I know. I know. Mental health and the dreaded tricare in one sentence. When I had to leave the job I loved for a move with my active duty hubby to tumbleweed, america I had what I like to call my, "tiny nervous breakdown".

Tricare was very helpful and I got me connected with a great therpatist who saved me. When my husband goes to Afghanistan in a couple of weeks and when he deals with seperating a year from now we will be using the servics again. I got the in person care but they also offer great phone services.

Hi,

My husband is Active Duty Military and I don't know of a specific forum but I did a google search for "forum military support" and several places popped up.

There's also a website that has info on different military support services available that you may want to check out:

http://www.military.com/NewContent/0,13190,Deployment_Reserve_Support,00.html

I know our base has counseling available for family members so you may also want to check that out too.

Take Care!

Cath :)
