Does anyone do weights 1st thing in AM?

Yes, on weekends I do. I leave my house at 5:00 a.m. on weekdays so I don't workout before that, but on weekends, since I'm used to getting up early I just go ahead and workout. I can't workout on a full stomach, and usually I have enough energy to do my workout, but sometimes if I feel a bit empty I'll have a small amount of plain yogurt.
 
I do during the week. I get up a 4:45, and workout until 5:30, no breakfast... no coffee!! just water.
 
Yes, I do weights first thing in the morning. That's basically my only workout time, so all workouts are first thing, before breakfast or anything. Lynda
 
Yes...I get up about 5AM and I normally do weights before any cardio and after my coffee and half of a balance bar. Breakfast is after cardio and a shower...:)...Carole
 
I prefer to do weights first thing in the morning. If I feel really hungry, I'll eat a banana or small muffin half an hour before.

Yep, I lift weights about an hr after I get up in the morning, I get up about 7:30 am, I weigh myself, then I drink my cappuccino and orange juice and at 8:30 am I start my weight training...... Rhonda:7
 
I do. Most days I wake up at 4:30, have a cup or two of coffee and workout at 5 am. The last couple of months I would have to do an extended warmup due to the cold weather and I can lift heavier when I'm warm. As soon as the workout is over, I'll have a bowl of cereal and protein shake and about 2 hrs. later I'll have a bowl of oatmeal. Susan C.M.
 
I'm up at 5:15 (usually), drinking coffee by 5:20, and lifting weights by 5:30 or 5:45. I have my oatmeal and a scoop of protein powder by 8:30, when I get to work.
 
We're all early risers! I'm up at 5am to work out! I have half a bananna to give me some energy or - sometimes nothing at all - just water. Then I have my breakfast ( egg whites or oatmeal and protein shake and, of course coffee)
 
I find that doing weight work in the morning is a lot easier than cardio or circuit type training. Cardio makes me sick in the morning. If I am hungry, I will grab somthing but typically I do it on an empty stomach and brew the coffee during my stretch. With weights, I don't find that eating upsets my stomach like it woudl with cardio.
 
I'm usually up at 5:00 but all I lift is my coffee cup and I do work out my right hand on the mouse. LOL! Right now the weather is gorgeous so I workout when my son goes to school at 8:00 but once the mercury rises, I will (endeavor) to kick into high gear and do it before it's too hot. I love the idea of getting it done first thing. I may need your help and inspiration when that day comes! I should give that a trial run this week. Imagine all I could get done if I could get home from dropping Sam and get straight to work! I think I've been inspired! :)

I CAN lift weights in the morning.

I CANNOT do cardio in the morning. I don't know why, I just NEVER have had the endurance that I have later in the day. My stamina is about 200% more later in the day, so I get more out of my cardio workouts at that time.

But, with my job and two kids, there is just more time for me in the evenings. On the weekends, I will do my weights first thing if it is in my rotation for that day.
