I know it's recommended to be eating every 2-3 hours. I don't plan my meals but I think it would be a good idea if I would. Too often I grab something here and there. I'd probably eat a little better if I'd plan them out.

What about you? Do you plan your meals?

RE: Do you plan your meals for the whole day?

Oh yes, I plan meals (and a few other things)! I eat about 6 times per day (5 of those meals I eat while at work). It's crucial for me. If I didn't plan, it would be harder for me to make good food choices. It's a burden for me (and my family)when traveling, though, because I can't plan my meals and I get a little freaked out.

There was a thread here a few days ago about personality traits we wish we could change - this would be it for me....sometimes, I wish I didn't need so much structure. I plan everything - my meals, my workouts, how long I'm going to be at the grocery store etc!

I try to eat as cleanly as possible and the only way I'm able to do that is to prepare my own meals. Yes, it involves some planning and extra time in the supermarket but after doing it for a while it's not so hard. Before I leave the house every morning I have my protein drink and take my little lunch cooler with my breakfast, lunch, and two snacks.

If I had any advice it would be to make a list of the foods you really like and make sure you keep your kitchen stocked. That makes it a lot easier to be able to whip something up without really having to adhere so strictly to a plan. The second piece of advice is produce - lots and lots of it! Fruit and veggies are perfect on-the-go snacks. It's so easy to toss some in your bag as you're running out the door in morning.

Oh god no! Spare me the boredom and time wastage!

Sorry, but food just is not that important to me, it is a necessary somponent of life and that's about it. Plus it's everywhere. I mean where can you go in US society and not see and get food and see other people stuffing themselves with it? Honestly, sometimes even going to the supermarket or mall is such a turn off....people chewing everywhere I look!

I have to prepare 3 lunchboxes every days for family members and so, no, I do not plan my own meals. Spare me. I like to walk on the wild side where the contents of my fridge and potential dinner are concerned. You know, the element of surprise?!!!

And it must work because I am in super shape and have not been ill for years!

I do plan as I try to limit my time spent shopping. Mornings are always the same. Its after lunch where my food choices differ for the day.

On work days, so long as I have the time to do so, yes. I will plan and pack my food for the day. When I am home, or for dinner every night, no, I do not plan ahead because I just don't feel the need to.

I should have planned mine yesterday. LOL. My mood has been off and I sabotaged my eating with some hershey's almond kisses. Lots of Cardio for me today.
Seriously, I usually eat the same things during the day so I don't really have to plan. I like to plan out what dinner will be, but not always.

I agree w/ Clare, it's just not that big of a deal where I have to plan every meal, etc. I eat quite healthy but don't always know what I'm going to grab, or want to grab. There is enough for me to do with my one year old son. Maybe it will be different down the road but for now this is it.
