Did todays heat sabotage your workout?

I had planned to do PUB and leg premix from SS and then run 30-40 mins. HA! I was outside today from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm mowing and weeding, and it felt like 100 degrees outside. Dewpoint was around 70 which is hard on your body. We have 1 1/2 acres. I love the heat, but it is really physically draining even though I felt like superwoman out there at the time, it did catch up with me later. When I got inside to cool off and eat I then started PUB. I made it thru, but felt weak and had to take pauses inbetween more than usual. I decided to finish PUB tomorrow with the bicep curls as I refuse to go down in weights just because I am tired. I would rather rest and give it my best shot then to feel like I failed. Needless to say, I think being outdoors all day using the push mower some too was my cardio. My clothes were wet with sweat. Tomorrow is a new day and I will just double up on my workouts as I have to get SS in too. Oh, well!

Charlotte... we had the same workout (pushmowing)... see my post on Daily Check in for today.... I am in NC a little over an our northwest of Charlotte, NC.... and boy was it hot and humid today. I toughed it out though and got in a workout that would rival Cathe's. That was most definitely your cardio.... I know it was mine.

Oh yeah!! I did 30 minutes of Caribbean Workout to start the day and was absolutely dying. I actually felt sick for a minute. Later I ran on the treadmill and was just drenched with sweat and panting. Had to slow down the pace a bit and stopped before I wanted to.

Well, out here in AZ its dry heat. It was very hot today. I did the BC Cardio only,HSTA cardio only, Imax2 blast only. The mish-mosh actually called for Imax3 blast only b4 Imax2. It was too hot for that. Then took a cold shower which was warm b/c the cold water is almost as hot as warm. I've been chilling with popsicles today. Which kinda defeats the purpose of working out. lol. All that sugar.
I've just sat on the couch the rest of the day.
I feel sorry for you guys who have to deal with humidity. Yucky.

Yes...I have been wanting to start running again (mainly because of all the enthusiastic runners here). Today was my short day at work (only work 'til 3 pm), but it was hazy, hot and humid and on my way home, severe thunderstorms rolled through the area.

I am hoping to make it to the track on Wednesday. Any advice for someone who hasn't jogged in 21 years?

Ugh, yes, even though I was on my treadmill and had fans on me. Actually got on here to post and whine about it afterwards. Did PLB at night, and that was better because we had the AC blasting (AND I had a fan on me again!).

I haven't jogged in years, either, Tammy, but a lot of the runners here suggest alternating running and walking when you're first starting out.
