Did not want to work out today...

So I threw in Gym Style Legs. When I don't have the motivation, it is easier for me to do a weight workout instead of cardio. Does that happen to anyone else?

Absolutely. When I REALLY, really, don't want to workout, I strength train. I can alwasy make it through that. Even a tough one. Weird.

I am the same way....I find myself doing too much some days....I love doing PUB and look forward to it. I always dread the cardio, but it is a lot easier to make myself do it since I discovered Cathe.

I thought it was just me!! I always swap out - or sometimes, if I'm particularly low energy I'll do yoga or pilates. Of course, regardless of what I decide, I always end up with more energy afterwards.

P.s. Joanna - You've "stolen" my favorite saying. I saw that in an ad and loved it - cut it out and hung in my cube at work. My other fav is from another ad: "stress collapsed under the weight of her strong body"

That saying is on the wall at my son's karate dojo...I used to do it with him, but it got to expensive once my other son started too.

Hi everyone, What is wrong with me? I'm am the exact opposite. I would rather do two hours of cardio (almost any kind) then even twenty minutes of weights. I have been trying for the past year and a half (since i discovered Cathe) to stick to a weight routine. I know how vital it is, but I don't make more then two weeks.... It's the pain, how do you guys work through that?? Cathe says you should be feeling toasty, I yell at the t.v (I won't say what I yell, but it's not nice) I would much rather be in your shoes, loving the weights and dreading the cardio.

I used to be the same way! I do anything other than strength training! Now, I'm addicted to it. What did I do? I forced myself to strength train.

Someone once told me at the gym I went to, "When you've got a body part that you hate to work, force yourself to work it, and before long it becomes your favorite body part to work." It took me years and years, but I think I'm finally finding my love of strength-training my shoulders! I find myself wanted to work them more and more. Before shoulders it was triceps, and before that it was legs, and before that it was biceps. Now, my least favorite is back...so, I guess it's time to start doing the back work! :)

I am the exact same way. No matter how tired I am, I can always get through a strength workout. Truthfully, I actually have to FORCE myself to do cardio!

Thanks Catwomen, I'm going to concentrate on that thought tom. when doing squats and lunges, maybe that will do the trick, stop whining to myself and just do it. Good luck with the back!
Carolyn

Most definitely. I like weights better than cardio to begin with, but when I'm not in the mood, weights seem much easier. Good for you for working out anyway!!!

Exactly the same here! I did not want to w/o today either, so instead I did GS chest, back, tris and bis!!!! And 15 minutes of core work.

Weights are always easier when I am less motivated!!!!!

Clare

Yes. I find a weight workout to be much more enjoyable. Depending on what it is. If it's not chest, I'm happy.

Chest and tri's are some of my favorites when I'm tired and all I want to do is lay down and take a nap! What other time do you actually get to lay down and work out at the same time!?!?!?! :D :D
