Did my Siskiyou 15K!!

Shelly...thanks...:)...not sure I've been in many races with runners pushing strollers!

Thanks Teri...:+

Elaine...thank you too! I really do love trail running. It does take some time to get used to. Funny you mention that article..:)...yes I did read it. If you have time check out the RW Forums. Wow!! Talk about hostility from these veteran runners who think this 3 day training is alot of you know what!! Look at the "Training" topic and for FIRST training. My name there is SBGrunner and I posted about this. There are replies and also links to other threads to check out. I am trying it for my next run which is a 20 mile trail race in Sept. I love crosstraining so it'll be fun to see how it works. If you do try it, we should compare notes...:)...Carole

Thanks Jes..:+

I am not sure you want to move there, they get LOTS of rain, but cooler can really be nice for running...:)...Carole

I'm going to give FIRST a try. I took a look at the RW forum you mentioned. I think running is the same as weight training as in what works best for you might not be what's best for me. I definately run faster when I run 3X a week and cross train the other days. I really only take a day off about every month so it's not like I'm doing nothing on non-running days.

I ran a marathon in SF last year and didn't like how I did one bit. Granted, it was the marathon from hell (those mile long hills!) but I ran ALOT training for it, got momentarily sidelined with an injury and it took a good month after before I felt great again when running.

I think (hope?) the 3 day plan is for me. And, I might add, I'll be working my butt off (figuratively speaking) those three days.

Hi Carole,

Good job on the trail run. It sounds like fun.

Let me know how the 3 day a week training goes for your next race. I read that in RW this month also. Do you post over at the RW forum? I read the forum every now and then.

Beverly

Thanks Jo...:+

Hi Beverly...:)...thanks, trail runs are always fun to me...I don't post at RW much but after I read the article I did. Talk about flaming though, not my thread but another one. I thought it was too silly really. But, I will let you know how it goes. I think it makes alot of sense and for me anyway, less chance of injury...:)...Carole

Woo-Hooo Carole! You are amazing! Sorry I wasn't around to wish you luck before you ran it. (But, you didn't need it! :7) I sure miss what all you guys are up to and I plan to be back here in full force after the roadtrip. I see some posters catching up to me!! Ha! Congrats. I love reading your inspirational posts.

Wow, Carole! That's awesome and I'm sooo impressed! I've only been running once a week on the track - I can't imagine going 15K! Great job passing up those 3 girls near the end!
