Hi I'm new to the site. And I just wanted to ask a quick question if that’s all right. Were any of you overweight when you started using Cathe's videos. I mean did any of you lose sixty to seventy pounds using them. A little inspiration would be nice right about now. I started today working out with the IMAX 2. And I had to just about modify ever move there was but I did it. And even though I wanted to quit cause it felt as though it was going to kill me. I stuck with it. I am glad that it was a fun video other wise I would not have made it. So yeah again if you had a lot of weight to lose please share. maymay

Hi Maymay! I just posted to you in the Success Forum. There are MANY success stories where the gals were overweight and have triumphed! Whoaaaa~IMax2!!! You might want to consider some of Cathe's ealier tapes to gradually ease your way on up, but I know what you mean. It is sooooo fun! Modifying is a good thing. Welcome and let us know how we can help.

Welcome Maymay:

I started out overweight and still have 20 pounds to go. I've lost 10 so far, granite that's not 50 or 60, but to me it's a lot. Cathe's tapes have helped me with so much besides losing weight - I have more energy - she's so energetic that they are all so much fun.

Welcome to the world of Cathe videos and I look forward to hearing from you and your progress or journey to losing weight - GOOD LUCK. There are plenty of very educational people on this forum that can help you beyond belief, they have been wonderful for me and my situations.

I also look forward to hearing some more responses to your question here. Oh, take a look at the Success Stories Forum, too, there are some great inspirations, too. I read them over and over again whenever I need a boost.

GOOD LUCK!

Cheers, Marcia :)

Hi Bobbi, I started WW at the end of April, and I've lost almost all the weight now I intend to lose (37 pounds as of this morning!), but more importantly, because of Cathe's workouts, I've lost six sizes!!!! The last three sizes flew off me in the past few months after I started using Cathe's workouts!! I went from a 12 when I started using them (and was doing great on WW using the Firm and FitPrime), passed up size 10 in about two weeks, and just recently went from size 8 to my goal, size 6!! I have unbelievable muscle definition, and I am hooked on Cathe for life! I recently gave away all my newer Firms, some of my older ones, and all those goofy FitPrime tapes!! I will never go back. She is the BEST!! I should add I've lost 54 pounds total since last summer, when I did Atkins for a few months before deciding to start WW, so yes I believe it absolutely is possible to lose as much as you want to using Cathe, *and* a sensible weight loss program that teaches you to watch portions and make healthy choices for life. It can't just be a "diet". It has to be a way of life. Best of luck to you, and welcome to the site!!

may may,
Hi, yes I started out over weight. I was over 200#, and I'm only 5'3". It took me a good year with eating right (with the help of a nutritionist), and started out doing the Firm tapes. Then I found out about Cathe and was hooked. I also walked and become more active in everyday life). It is a lifestyle change. I have learned this summer that stress can effect you in a negetive way. I gained some back but not all. I was down to a size 9/10 and could squeeze into a 7/8 if it was stretch material. At my highest weight I was a size 18. Now, after a very stressful summer, in a 11/12. I'm back on track again, and going forward. You can't quit when you fall. You just have to pick yourself back up and think about how fun it is to be healthy! This group (at Cathe) is a great support, so come here a lot and learn from people that know more. I do, and it helps a lot. Sometimes I come here before a workout just to read what's going on, so I can get pumped up to work out. It works!! Hope that helps.

ps as I'm sure you know, weight training and cardio work great together. I love weight work, that took off the weight the quickest. (btw, don't take it off too quick, you skin will be too loose, do it in a healthy way, so your skin has time to catch up. That's what happend to a friend of mine, her skin is just hanging off her body - she lost it too fast)

Thank you all so much. I have a lot of friends but this, this is what I need. People who have been there or know some who was. Besides almost none of my friends workout so that a little frustrating you know what I mean. Ps nice pictures Glenn Hansen do you have an album out. maymay!

Boy, did I! I've lost 127 pounds, as of yesterday, and it's taken 4 years. I started out with Cathe a year or so after I started losing weight. At 289 pounds (and a former smoker), I couldn't handle it (although I know Donna did Cathe videos at an even higher weight--she's obviously superhuman AND my idol!). Until then, I just rode my bicycle. I had to build up enough strength and endurance to allow myself to exercise. And I didn't start with Cathe. It was Kathy Smith's 20 minute long "Lift Weights to Lose Weight" first. Then the Firm. Then Cathe, whom I adore. Now I use Cathe videos almost exclusively.

Yup, you can lose as much weight as you want, but in my opinion, you can't do it with exercise alone. You have to have a good eating plan, in addition to adding exercise. Then you'll be on your way!

Good luck,
Shari

You guys are awesome! Carol, I feel the same way about Cathe and I dumped all my other tapes except a few yoga tapes which are gathering dust on the shelf.

I take my hat off to all of you who have worked so hard and lost so much weight! You see so many people who don't get that it's about exercise and making good food choices and I think, making peace with food which can be an enemy in the guise of a friend. Maymay is in good hands here!

Thank you Shari and congratulations on your success. I was talking to my husband about weight watchers and he thinks it’s a good idea. But even if I don’t go that route I plan on staying as far away from sugar as I can. Thank again. maymay

yeah, we all need support. I love this forum. :)

Yeah, it just came out this past spring. If you go on the site, and hit the music link, and then the alblum cover, it will take you over to where you can hear actual clips of the music. You can click on lyrics to read them, and all sorts of stuff. My husband put together the website, so feel free to check it out and click away.
