You're not even close to being overweight. Your picture looks beautiful. I would kill to be as slim as you. Okay, okay, I wouldn't kill but you know what I mean. You are looking good girl.
Don't let them get your spirits down.

You're a doll! It's great that you, I, we, always want to improve our fitness and keep working on it, but I have to say again...your NOT obese or anywhere close to obese.

You all make me smile! I appreciate your kind words and decided that I can't focus on the negative. I would really like to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 135 lbs. If having this DEXA scan gave me the motivation to do it, well, then, it was worth it.
Again, thank you for all your support. I guess now I have a "before" picture...when I get to my goal weight, I'll post an "after."
This is a fascinating post. I had no idea DEXA scans could be used to measure body fat. You mean when I go for my bone density scan they can tell me my body fat percentage at the same time? And it's very accurate? Very interesting.
I just have to say you are absolutely beautiful and no doubt the envy of many. With a face like that, you could weigh 200 lbs. and still be gorgeous. But you happen to have a cute figure. So, maybe there's some room for a little improvement. We ALL have room for improvement. I think it's important psychologically to remember that you look great and you are healthy and to feel good about that. Know that you are just fine the way you are. Then you can go ahead and work on improving what you can to the extent possible with the rest of us.

ETA: It's so easy to concentrate on your flaws. I was feeling bad about my tummy one day, and I was talking to a woman at the dentist's office. She had weighed 300 lbs. and had a gastric by-pass. She said her body was covered with hanging skin, but her weight was down and she was just glad to be able to buy clothes in a "normal" store. Her blood pressure was down, she was in better health and could lead a normal life. It put everything into perspective and suddenly I felt silly for worrying about my little tummy.
Thank you for the post! I'm due for a DEXA scan soon. Yikes.
Nancy, not all DEXA scans will measure body composition. It is supposed to be the most accurate way to do it. Even more accurate than hydrostatic according to some sources. Of course that could change tomorrow lol!! I am due a DEXA in March and I hope that it measures body fat. My last one did not. But that was 2 years ago and a differernt facility.
