Damage Control

I've been getting 4 or so weight workouts in each week. I'm feeling good about that. Today I did STS D4-CSB, my own abs and the extended stretch. I'm enjoying the db work. My left arm is so much weaker. Hopefully it will catch up soon. There was a break in the rain so I went walking as well.

Not too much going on here for the long weekend. It's been cold, cloudy and rainy. We did have my MIL over yesterday for brunch. It was really nice. The girls helped out and we all played a couple games of Farkle afterward.

It's a short 3 day week for me. I have this Friday off and am so looking foward to it.

What are you up to?

Just a week until we see Aaron! I'm hoping we have decent weather. It's been raining here most of the week and it looks like it will this weekend and into next week. The flowers and the grass like it anyway.

We're still waiting to get our car back from the body work that had to be done on it. We walked down Thursday and they said probably next week. We'll see. They've been saying that for 3 weeks. I was hoping to use it to drive to Scranton on Friday since we can use the GPS system in it.

What are you up to this weekend? We have zero plans. The grand finale of one of the annual soccer tournaments is on today so we're hoping we get that on one of our streaming platforms. I'll probably get some cleaning done and want to go through photos to give some to Aaron. He's always asking for photos of when he was little. I think his girlfriends like to see how cute he was when he was little!

Whatever you're up to I hope you enjoy and can relax too!

So happy it's the weekend and I don't have any plans!

I did CSB on Tuesday and walked on Wednesday and did glute work yesterday. Today will be Back & Triceps and tomorrow will be legs. It supposed to be in the 80's today and tomorrow. Not sure if I will walk or not..

Tomorrow I'll tackle laundry, grocery shopping and mowing the lawn.

My sister in law is a low budget traveler. We are trying to plan a trip to Greece in November. Hopefully we can find something we both agree on. Otherwise we can just go to Mexico, which I'm fine with since I've never been there. She usually goes 2 or 3 times each year.

Sounds like we are both enjoying relaxing weekends!

I'm sure you are in the city this weekend. Enjoy time with your son!

I was able to get in 5 weight workouts and walk around the lakes twice. Keeping on with STS for a while longer. I'm starting to be able to increase my 15's to 17's, so my strength is improving. I feel pretty good about that.

I just finished a 3 day juice cleanse. The juices are so good. It's very easy to do and I wasn't hungry at all. I've been dealing with some stomach pain, RUQ in the same area as before. That is why I decided to do the 3 day cleanse. I'm not sure what is causing it. If I can't get it under control, then I'll schedule an appt with surgeons office. They will be able to run all the necessary tests.

I just finished walking around the lakes. It's supposed to rain so I wanted to get outside while I had the chance. If my stomach feels better, then it's the next STS legs workout.

Hello!

We had a great time last weekend. The travel was not too bad. We drove about 100 miles, stayed overnight, then caught the bus the next morning. We met up with Aaron and his girlfriend around 1:30 PM and were off-tons of walking and sightseeing all over NYC. She had a semester in high school on the Columbus University campus so knew the area pretty well. We did the subway, saw Chelsea Pier, and went to one of her old, favorite eating spots, Little Ruby's, on Saturday before the show. We saw Sunset Blvd. that night. It was a little difficult catching all the words in the songs, but the story was easy and the staging/production was very good. It won for best revival musical this year, which we found out on Sunday night during the Tony Awards.

Sunday we slept in a bit, went to brunch, then saw the show, Gypsy, at the matinee. It was super special seeing that one since Aaron was in Gypsy when he was nine years old! We both knew all the songs and it was great. After the show we walked a few miles around Central Park then had dinner at a little spot that served Japanese food-I can't remember what anything was called there but it was really good!

My foot/leg was ok the whole time! I did have some muscle spasms, but they've subsided. I have not formally worked out since last Friday morning when I got up to do my leg moves before we travelled after work Friday. Today I am getting back to it and am planning a bike ride and doing my leg moves-so about 1.5 hours of working out. Otherwise, I need to get my wash done and would like to make some granola.

It sounds like your weight work is going great! I hope your abdomen feels better. My abdomen soreness is from the psoas muscle. It's part of my endless stretching routine now to open it up daily.

Well, better get the day going! I feel like I have a lot to do/want to do today.

Enjoy the warmer weather-finally!

Hi! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty rainy and humid. I did get two weight workouts and one 45 minute walk around town in. Besides that I cleaned, read, cooked, and just puttered around the house. Seems pretty mundane after how busy we were last weekend! Dan and I have been playing an online game of bridge which has been fun. We were able to do it on our phones on the bus last weekend when we were traveling and it really made the time fly.

Otherwise, not much new. Today I want to do lower body again-been mixing it up with ankle weights, the band, and heavier weights. I got a loaf of sourdough fermenting and am making homemade pizza for dinner for Father's Day-didn't get it going until yesterday, so we had to wait a day to eat it! I work this week and then am off next week. We're thinking of going to the beach if the weather is decent.

I hope you have a good week!

I'm on that awful project. It just doesn't leave me much time for working out. We have daily meetings, daily deadlines, it's a lot and leaves me exhausted. I did workout Sat, Sun, Wed, Thursday. I guess that is better than nothing. I'm trying to decide if I want to pick back up with STS or do something else today.

DS2 flew home from VA to surprise David for Father's Day. It was a complete surprise, none of knew he was coming. It was so nice to see him. He grilled steaks for us for dinner. It was just a lovely weekend. I did ask him if I could come out over labor day. He said that is a long way off and he would let me know. UGH. It will be my birthday weekend and I want to go somewhere. I'm looking into a few other options though.

It was also David's birthday on Wednesday. We had another nice steak dinner and I made homemade chocolate cake for dessert. It was a great day.

We were at 104, yesterday and have a couple more days at or near 100 before we cool down a bit for Tuesday and Wednesday. It's hard being stuck in the house all day. I may wander down to the pool this evening when all the kids clear out.

Hope you are able to find somewhere to go while you are off work.

Well we both must have had busy weeks. Hope all is well with you. What have you been up to?

My workouts have been hit or miss recently. I requested to be assigned to other work instead of that stressful project. My boss reassigned me to other efforts for July. I'm so happy. I should ee able to get my workouts in for the month of July! It's been very hot here so I've only walked a few times. Today I did STS Disc 10, CSB. This is week 4 for STS Meso 1. I'm looking forward to starting Meso 2, it's my favorite. I'm following the long rotation where each week is repeated before moving to the next week. The second leg workout is from the other platform where we lift much heavier and they have dedicated glute programs too. I don't want to lose my strength. My upper body strength is improving.

The girls passed their drivers' tests on Thursday! I'm so happy for them. DS1 is still looking for a car for them. In the mean time, I'm going to see how much it is to cover them on the Rogue. They are enjoying summer and spending a lot of time paddling boarding with their friends at the lakes.

I booked long weekend trip over Labor Day in Hilton Head NC. Have you ever been there? DS1, the girls and me are going. I'm really looking forward to it. I used all my travel points. Now I'm researching the best way to earn more. I'm learning a lot. I just got my first travel/points credit card last year. Doing a lot of research this weekend.

Hello!

I ended up working Tuesday and Wednesday and then just had a long weekend. We did not go to the beach-Dan was just not up for it after the NYC trip. Hilton Head is a great resort! I'v never been there, but my physical therapist has a time share there and I've known people who go there. They all love it. I'm sure you will all have a great time. My goodness, it seems like the girls were just starting kindergarten. Driving is a big step and will free you up a bit. I'm happy to hear you got off that nightmare project. It's good you asked. I find myself asking for what I want more often lately. I'm also saying no to stuff I really don't want to do-like last month"s book club meeting. The group met the Tuesday night after our NYC trip and had the meeting pretty far out of town at a camp one of the girls owns. I could have gone, but did not because I really didn't want to sit outside, get home late and work the next day.

I've been doing my leg/ab routine (feel like I'm back with The Firm with all the ankle weight moves)! I feel like I'm managing the leg/hip/foot pretty good. I'm able to take some longer walks and am happy about that. I did try some weighted squats and feel like I'm not ready for them yet. We have a sauna at the pool which I've started using on a regular basis. My upper body is lacking. It's just so hard to find time to work it twice a week. I need to just do it Tuesday or Wednesday before work. I just never feel like it!

Enjoy,

Beth
