Damage Control....Monday Monday :-)

Happy Monday, all! The weather looks gorgeous here today! Dare I say spring has finally sprung? How was everyone's holiday yesterday?

Wendy, sorry to leave you here all by yourself yesterday! I intended to check in at least five times yesterday, and each time I got distracted with something that kept me away. I do have NROL4W. That's not a bad idea for me, because I'm in definite need of a strength building routine, but I'm also thinking something endurance based might be a good place to start, just because I'm feeling flabby. The scale is being kind to me these days, but the mirror is showing fluff, know what I mean? I thought the first phase of Afterburn might help me minimize that fluff with its high reps and get me ready for muscle building with CLX. I'm afraid that if I jump right into a muscle building routine, I'm just going to feel bulky because I'll be pushing out all my fluff with my new muscles. Blech!

Hello to all who follow! I'll def be in and out today!

BBS~

Good Morning!

Just a quick checkin for me. Our vaca is going good so far....although DS could be better behaved:confused: I went for a run yesterday, about 55 mins and I am heading out soon for another run but not as long. We aren't going to the airport until 3'ish so I do have 6 hours but that won't be long coming!

I will check in again later! For some reason I am having trouble accessing the internet on my blackberry:mad:

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We went to MIL's for Easter dinner, it was delicious and nice to visit with everyone too.

I did manage SS lower body blast and KPC yesterday. Today it's back to STS with Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. This is the last week in this meso cycle and next week is an active rest week-no weights.

Wendy-thanks for the calorie link. Is every 3rd day a low cal day? Just wondering the best practice.

Jen-I'll have to check out Alwyn's Afterburn. Is that one of the programs in his NROL4W book? I'll be doing an endurance rotation for a bit after STS.

Lori-hope you have a wonderful vacation. I too had problems with my blackberry when I first got it. The instruction booklet comes in very handy-still, and I've had mine for almost a year.

Lori, great job on getting in a run during your vacation! You're much more dedicated that me ;)

Diana, Afterburn is a separate program Alwyn developed before NROL. It's 16 weeks, iirc, four phases (Wendy, correct me if I'm wrong...it's been a while since I looked at it.) I have to say, it's an excellent program. Endurance first, then strength building, then cutting, basically. I didn't make it through the whole thing...I think I made it to week 10...plus I did four weeks of Warp Speed Fat Loss (Alwyn also) before that, so I was craving some Cathe by that time, but I'm seriously considering doing it again. I definitely saw results with it.

Good Afternoon Chickadees!:D

Well DS is off this week from school and DH is still home so I beat feet to the gym early and did my work out before my shift started. I took a shower there and ate something quick and was ready for work exactly on time. I think I will do that at least one more time this week. :)

Anyway, my work out was the first 35 minutes of CC#7 on the EXT. I was going to run a little too but I didn't have enough time so I'll just use the TM on it's own another day this week. :)

Jen: Do what you think is best for you and hopefully we'll eventually cross paths on at least one of the Alwyn programs! ;) :) If you get to CLX in less then 2 months time our paths will also cross there. :D BTW, my next 2 mods for CLX are to sub in kettlebell swings for all of the cardio in Burn Intervals and then just do an endurance based kettlebell work out in place of Burn Intervals. Should be fun! I'll keep you posted! ;)

Diana: I was told to make every 4th day a maintenance calorie day. Unfortunately for me though, this hasn't been working out very well due to life getting in the way. I am averaging every 3rd day right now. I was considering changing it up though and eating maint. cals on lifting days and deficit cals on non-lifting days (rest or cardio only) just to do something different and see what happens.

Lori: Sorry your blackberry is giving you trouble. Perhaps it's just the area you are in causing a crummy connection to the internet??

Gotta feed DS lunch and then off to the park we go!:D

BBL!

Good afternoon all!

Just popping back in to report that I pulled out Power Hour today and did it with very light weights. Holy moly, I felt like I've never worked out a day in my life after doing that one! What a weakling I am

Wendy, after the way I felt today, NROL4W is looking like a necessity! I just may be joining you in it after all. CLX is in transit to its destination, by the way :D I may have it in my hands this afternoon! Tomorrow at the latest. Looking forward to previewing it!

Hello ladies !

Well my plans definitely didn't go well in the exercise dept. this past weekend. Never got around to Sat afternoon cardio nor did Sun AM happen either ! I was on my feet for 5 hours in the kitchen on Sat afternoon til dinner and again for 4 hours Sun AM. Boy, and I thought my choices weren't that time consuming ! UGH !

We enjoyed the nice sunny weather and quiet atmosphere along with all the food yesterday and didn't get back home until after 7 PM. I was tired.

This coming week will be bleak for me to as I have a couple of 10 - 12 hour work days and Sharks playoffs two days also. Want to hit DS's house one day also. My plan is to make sure I get all my weight work in and I may be improvising alot on the cardio - definitely no extra workouts this week.

Jen - Great job doing some full body light weights. Has the doc OK'd minimal workouts yet? Your idea of Afterburn, starting out with endurance and then moving up from there sounds plausible. I never did get the Alwyn workouts other than NROL4W. Those were some heavy weights in NROL4W. I lost endurance when I did the first round of those, but felt strong with the exercises I was doing.

Lori - hey there girl ! Nice getting runs in while you are away from home. Hope DS settles in with his behavior soon. Hope the BB starts cooperating too ! Enjoy yourselves !

Diana - so you did SS lower body (meaning super sets) to add your extra leg workout this week? Will be interested in knowing how STS legs on Wed goes - I wasn't too sore from last week's legs. I missed the link on staggering (if that is what Wendy posted), can you pass it forward? I need to try something different and organized. Going at this on my own with my schedule and activities is not working here. :( I am looking forward to a weightless week here. More long days next week too. Am thinking of making it a low calorie week and taking it relatively easy to see if I can drop the "fluff". I am so excited about my muscle gains but want to look leaner.

Glad you enjoyed your visits yesterday too. It was just a great day to sit back and relax. I saw you all had/are having some cold days there lately?

Wendy - Way to go in running out the door before work to do your CC ! I was definitely awake early but been feeling kinda draggy lately so just stayed in bed. No good excuse - now I'll have to try to make it up later for procrastinating.

When are you going to be done with CLX? Wondering if you'll be KBing when Diana and I are done with STS. I am definitely thinking KB's would be a great change of pace and should shock my muscles yet again after STS is finished.

Oh by the way - XTrain should have been CTX or Cross Train Express last week. I liked that DVD to use just by itself for some good workouts. Those short ones come in handy sometimes. ;)

Laura - How was Easter for you? And now a full week without PIA ! How is it going ?

Almost done with lunch - enjoy the evening ladies !

Jen: Good job giving Power Hour a shot...but couldn't you have picked a slightly easier weight work out!? Jeesh! No wonder you were exhausted! LOL That's a true Catheite for ya...doesn't wanna tone it down for ANYTHING! :p Alwyn would be proud too I'll bet. ;)

Jacque: Sorry you missed the weekend work outs you had planned. That's a bummer. I plan to swing the kb's in some sort of rotation in about 2 months. I have one more week of Push and then 2 more month long phases of CLX to go before I am done. How much more time do you and Di have for STS? I am pretty sure we'll being swingin' together for atleast part of the time if you plan on moving on to KB's after STS.

Jacque, you didn't need any workouts this weekend with all the hours you spent in the kitchen  Jeesh, girl...that was a cookathon! Sorry to hear about the nasty week you have ahead of you with the long work days and all. Hoping you'll find some down time in the midst of it, and maybe some sweat time, too ;)

Wendy, I forgot how stinkin' tough that one is...until I got to the lunge track, of course. Thought I was holding up pretty good 'til then. Boy, that one always humbles me  Oh well...it's never good to get too cocky ;)

LAURA! Geez, what a scary weekend! Glad to hear you and yours are all safe and sound! Ugh, I know all about being without power. Sending you <<<<good weather>>>> vibes. Stay safe and enjoy that cardio :)
