DAILY CHECK IN Tuesday 23 August

Dutchie42

Cathlete
Hi everyone,

Have been a bit busy. Logging in from work for the first time!!

Did a 5K run yesterday on my brand new tread mill. It's nicer to run outside, but I feel more comfortable running in house at 6AM instead of out in the dark (yes it is still dark at that time). So twice a week I'll run on the tread mill and twice a week I'll run outdoors later in the day. AND no more excuses about sleet and snow and lightning and stuff to not run }(

Today I did GS-Legs standing plus BM ub only including abs this morning.

Have a wonderful day and a great workout all,

Dutchie:)

Good Morning Dutchie and all who follow!

I am back and HOPEFULLY will have a good workout this morning!
I didn't workout over the busy wedding weekend, other than one walk up (and down) "Death Hill" with DH. Yesterday I did have good intentions.....and started Circuit Max, but only got 1/2 way through and the phone started ringing and too many interruptions to ignore!;( I hate when that happens!!
My workout ended abruptly and I couldn't get back to it.....never even had a stretch.:-(
Today is the first day of school and my daughters first day of High School ! I don't know if it was that or what, but I got basically NO sleep last night!!! I was planning on a nice long outside walk this morning and then a weight workout, but don't know if I'll have the energy. Any suggestions for a good workout for me this morning???
Too much food lately and no exercise has me sluggish and bloated feeling, but with no sleep I really don't feel up to the type of workout I NEED!!!
Suggestions???
I'll be back later to post whatever I do.
Have a great day everyone!! :)

Good morning Dutchie and Becky and all that follow...

Becky, I hate it when I get no sleep. I have woke up at 2 and 3:00 in the morning lots of times and felt so sluggish all day. If I push myself in the afternoon to workout, I find I can usually get through it. I've even made it through IMAX3 on one of those days. The further you get into the workout, the better you feel. Just my experience.

Yesterday I was off so I did GS biceps and HSC abs yesterday morning.

Last evening I did IMAX2. Love that workout!!!

Today is strength/endurance. I am leaning towards the PLB/PUB combo premix and the L/G section off the BB TimeSaver.

Have a wonderful day everybody. Off to get breakfast.

Good morning Dutchie, Becky and Jane,

Enjoy your new treadmill Dutchie, it certainly will be a blessing when you can't venture outdoors.

Becky, I would do a lower intensity workout today. If you are low on energy and didn't have enough sleep, a higher energy workout could be offputting and maybe drain you even more. I would do a CTX workout, a timesaver workout, or a premix from another workout or make one upypurself thta has only about 25-30 monutes of cardio plus some strength work in it.
Jane, great workouts.

Last evening: CTX cardio kickbox (warmup and cardio only), followed by the Lunges and Leg presses of PLB, then floor work of L&G, stepups with no weight and then a lower body stretch.

Tonight: S&H shoulders, pilates lower leg work, walking lunges and deadlifts and calf work from PLB.

Have a good day!

Hello Fitness Friends
Dutchie- Congratulations on the new treadmill. Is your TV/DVD player with in sight of it? **If so IMAX3 makes a challenging "coach" for a running treadmill workout.**

Becky- I checked out your DD wedding pictures. They are beautiful. Don't sweat the tired thing. If your body needed a rest, then it was OK to take it. You had so much going on in the previous days. I'm sure you will get a good nights sleep and be ready to start fresh.

Jane- I enjoy the PUB/PLB combo too!

Today I will do Circuit Max. However, for all cardio I will do hard spinning to avoid impact but still get my heart rate up. My bike has a HRM and I will wear it.

To all who read later- Have a good and sweaty workout!

ETA- Hi Cathy. Nice work out plan.
Can I ask what LB pilates work do you do?

Good Morning Fit Ladies!

Well, yesterday I did indeed crawl back into bed. So today I'll do yesterdays workout of GS: BSB and CTX: 10-10-10 cardio only.

Dutchie: Enjoy your treadmill...I'm trying to talk my husband into buying me one. The cold weather is just around the corner and the winters here are very long.

Becky: Wedding pictures are beautiful. You will get back on track in no time...

Jane: I love IM#2 also....I did it Sunday.

Cathy: Looks like a killer leg session tonite!

Judy: CM is on my wishlist. Enjoy your CM/spinning combo!

Hello to all that follow.....have a great day!

Tammy

Good Morning, Everyone!

Great workouts as usual!

Today GS B/SH/Bi, Ch/Tri, Core Max 1 and abs on Stability ball.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone!

Yesterday was Tri's/Bi's, Legs and Shoulders (shoulder only), SS Military Press and 400 crunches from all angles.

Today I still need to do Chest and Back and run 3 miles. Squats in the evening. Going to try to get up to 110 and do 24 times. We will see.

Have a great workout everyone!

Charlotte~~

Hello Again Everyone,

Cathy , I took your advice and did 10-10-10, which I'd only done once before, but really enjoy. I did the triceps too and it felt great without being too much! Great advice, Thank you!:D
Now maybe I can make it through the morning. ;-)

Dutchie, enjoy your treadmill. I LOVE mine and use it often in the winter months.

RE: Becky and Judy

Glad you are feeling a little better Becky and I am sure the workout will give you more energy.

Judy: The Pilates I have is the one by the Method. It is the only Pilates workout that I have but since I am going to be doing freestyle I may invest in another Pilates for lower body and probably core secrets as well.

Thanks!

RE: Becky and Judy

Morning all. Today on my rotation I was supposed to do MIC, but since I did it twice last week I decided to try IMAX for the first time. I really enjoyed it. It is definitely not as fun as IMAX 2, but the intesity was great on the intervals. The 4th one with the plyo jacks and the last one with the air jacks and tuck jumps just about killed me. My legs are fried!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Katie

Good morning...

Dutchie..congrats on the treadmill. Should really help on those nasty weather days!!

Becky...yes, I hate when the phone interrupts my workouts!! I am usually bad and don't answer it...:)

Jane...the music is great in Imax2! Always gets me going. Sounds like a good strength workout you have planned!

Cathy..good workout. I did PLB yesterday myself. Just the standing..

Judy...sounds like a good workout. How high do you get your HR up when you spin?

Tammy...crawling back into bed sounds good to me right now!!

Wendy...have fun with KPC.

Carla...sounds like a killer upper body workout!!

Charlotte....as usual a tough workout you are doing...

Kali...there has always been a big FUN factor for me in doing SJP...

Yesterday I got bit by a wasp!!! Yeow....didn't know the nest was there. Should have seen me chasing the other 2 that got into my house....quite a workout!! I am also having some pain in the area of a bunion. Makes running not so fun...:(...but I will see how today goes. Doing Freestyle legwork, 6 mile run, abs and Chest & Back.

Have a great day...:)...Carole

Good morning!

This morning I did High Step Circuit. 48 minutes that just fly by. I really like it.

Katie - that's amazing success with the Jan '05 rotation! Congratulations to you for sticking with it! Moving on to the Jan '04 rotation, huh? I did that one last fall, and it's a doozy, too. I lost a few pounds, and my stamina increased significantly. The first week starts off pretty intense. Enjoy!!

Wendy - I completely relate to your experience with Step Works! It was my first Cathe tape, bought 10 years ago, and I found the choreography very confusing and frustrating for quite some time. It's a terrific workout, though, so keep plugging away with it. Once you get the choreo down, it's quite fun, and a calorie burner galore!

Jane - I love it when you get that surge of energy in the middle of a workout. IMAX2 is a workout that I often don't want to do (because it requires lots of energy), but once I get into it, I realize that it's a hoot and a half, and I get that surge of energy. I'm sorry to read on a different thread about your new addiction :) Does this replace the coffee?

Dutchie - cool! A treadmill! I would love one of those some day. I would like to incorporate a bit of running into my workouts, but it's very difficult to do around here, when the winters are 9 months long.

Becky - wow, you sure are busy! And with lack of sleep, that makes things much harder to cope with. Choose a workout that you love, regardless of the type or intensity level. If you really want to workout today, then just put in whatever seems the most palatable to you. Don't try to do BCx2 today; save the penitent workout for the day you've had a decent sleep. Just my suggestion :)

Carole - ouch on the wasp sting!! Ouch ouch ouch!!!!

Have a great day, everyone,
Sandra

Hi all, I did CTX 10-10-10 cardio only today.

It is sooo nice outside this week, I hate to think that I have sooo much to do inside. Hopefully next week will be nice too since the boys will have a week off from school, we school 6wks on 1 wk off!So next week is our week OFF!!:D :7

Have a great day everybody!!

Morning Everyone,

Today is Step Fit and 20 min of Ab Hits. I haven't done step fit in a long time. It is fun to dust off those every once in a while.

Dutchie, I love my treadmill. I have found a couple of Interval workouts from magazines that are only 30 min in length, but they really work those legs. :) And I have tried Cathe's advanced treadmill work out that is in the rotation section. That one is very intense. }(

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon Ladies,

This morning I did the Viper, I was sweating the whole time, but really enjoyed it. I still think that the Gaunlet is harder and longer, do any one of you know how long the Gaulet is?
