So, first thing I saw was sheriff flying down my road, followed by firetruck and then ambulance. I went out my back door and saw smoke. Next, more police. The first thing that happpened - a lot of tourists use the road in front of my house as a cut through from I95 to Myrtle Beach so we have a lot of traffic during the summer season. A storm came up really fast, and the wind was blowing so hard, it blew an RV off the road, and it flipped over in landed in a farmer's field (I think it was soybeans) and caught on fire. Totally destroyed - nothing left of the RV but the frame. The two folks in the RV were taken to the hospital and are ok, thank God.
Next, a tornado touched down in the same area shortly after taking out 12 telephone poles. they looked like toothpicks. Took them 24 hours to get my power back on. The next day, it went off again, and then Wednesday it went off again for 4 hours. The power company has been out here all week working on them. Everything seems to be back to normal, fingers crossed. One of my friends down the road said her neighborhood was trashed and her son had just built a new home and it has a lot of damage. It was nasty.
Anyway, that's what I've been dealing with all week and haven't posted. I'm going to get in a good, long workout tomorrow.
Good job to all of you for your great workouts this week!
