Current favorite shoes

I know this topic has been addressed many times on the forum, but I wanted to know everyone's CURRENT shoe choices. I used to use Ryka, but a couple of years ago they seemed to be less cushiony so I switched to New Balance (can't remember the number, but they're cross-trainers that come up higher on the ankle) and I really like them. Sooo...before I go and buy New Balance again, do you all have any suggestions? Has Ryka improved? Cushion, a wide base of support, high ankle, and removable liners are a must (gotta put my Spenco liners in!). Thanks everyone!

I am spoiled by Rykas and only wear them. I bought the Iseum and I never even think about my feet during a workout because these shoes are so comfortable. I also have an older pair of Ryka high-tops for step workouts. I wish they still sold high-tops as I really like the ankle support.

I haven't used Ryka's for a long time, but thats because I mainly run and use Addidas for that. For step and indoor aerobics I am currently using Reeboks, Ultra RXT Lite. ...:)...Carole

I LOVE my New Balance Cross Trainers!!! I buy a new pair about every four months, and I've never had a problem with them. You can get them at discount stores too, so you never have to pay full price from the New Balance store. Do you have a Shoe Carnival near you? The one near me always seems to have them, for which I'm grateful, and I pay a third less there than at the New Balance store in the mall across the street from Shoe Carnival!!

Thanks for all your responses! I got my New Balance at Gart Sports (no Shoe Carnival near me). I have the Ryka shoes that Cathe wears in BC, but I never wear them for cardio...I really need the ankle support. Well, I'll go check out the Ryka site and see what they've got! Thanks again.

I love New Balance WX1004. I wear orthotics and thye are perfect. I did just order the next version because the 1004's are older. In fact they are up to 1006. I hate it when munufacturers discontinue shoes you love but you can get great discounts. Brand new they are $100.00 but I got the 1004's for 60 bucks!

Well I have the Ryka's Iseums and the New Balance 609's and both are comfy and give me the support I need. I alternate them every w/o.

I took a while for the Isuems to break in and now that they are broken in, these are the best my feet have ever felt during a workout. :) I love them and recommend them highly.

Friday night I bought Aiscs Gel-1090. They are awesome! I wore them for my Saturday and Sunday workout. So far they are absolutely the best pair of shoes I have ever worn for working out and I have had a terrible time finding shoes that I would qualify as great. I am so happy! I will see how they do in the long run. I also bought a pair of New Balance 765. I have not worn them yet.

I'm in the market for a new pair of shoes myself and absolutely love the way RYKAs fit my feet. I was tempted to buy the Iseums but then saw the Rhythms that look like they give a little more ankle support. They are a lot pricier though. Has anyone bought the Rhythms? Also, I prefer a shoe that has a lot of cushioning for step aerobics. Does anyone have a review on these?

Thanks,
Liz

I use the ASICS Gel-1090s for cardio. I wear some other ASICs for running and then when my cardio shoes get old, I use them for weight training, walking around on casual days, etc. Finally, they are for lawn care and animal rescue work! I wear things out!

I generally feel that ASICs are the best fit for my feet. I try on other brands, but these end up being the ones I buy for the past 15 years.

I've never tried on Ryka's though to be fair. I wear a women's 10-10 1/2 and so I usually buy men's shoes.
