CTX upper bod, is it a strength or endurance vid?

Hi everyone! I just bought the upper bod ctx and have the lower bod on my b-day list along with S&H, (2 more weeks), Are these, ctx, considered strength or endurance, and with that question in mind, what should I use for my leg day until I receive the ctx lower bod vid? I have the PS series, MIS, and PowerHour and I also own the Firms lean legs, ouch! Any suggestions would be appreciated! By the way I absolutely love the ctx upper body workout! I'm back from the summer, only ran for 2-3 months, lost alot of muscle and gained alot of fat! It feels good to be back, if anyone has any suggestions on rotations to get me back in shape, I'm reading! More cardio or more strengh, endurance?
Thanks- Sandy in Maine

I have the same question. It feels like more of a strength video but yet the reps are fast enough (kind of like PS) to be more strength / endurance (especially coming off of S&H).

Cathe? Maribeth? Marlene? Any input is appreciated!

CTX upper is designed as more endurance. If I want more of a strength workout, I go heavier on the weights and slow down the reps. When I do this, I find it much more challenging than PS.
Cathe posted once that if CTX upper is used as is, you will retain your current strength for two weeks. (I think.:))
Hope this helps.

Pure strength vs local muscular endurance is more a matter of how long you are doing a particular exercise vs how fast you are doing it. A typical set of 10 repetitions was designed to be based on a 2 second concentric (lift) and a 4 second eccentric (lowering), for a total of 6 seconds per rep and 60 seconds per set.

Based on the 6 second rep concept, a set using up to 6 reps is considered a pure strength set, sets of 8-12 reps are considered strength/hypertrophy sets, and sets of 15 or more are considered local muscular endurance sets.

Also, it is generally considered necessary to use at least 60-65% of a one-rep max in order for there to be any significant strength gains achieved--but it is more a matter of doing more than the muscle is used to doing and for longer than it is used to doing it that will cause the improvements.

Mainemom, I asked this same question over at videofitness, and was advised that the PS legs would not be the right pairing with CTX upper body, and that Leaner legs would be the best bet - and that in the meantime, the Firm's Standing legs would be an ok stand in till I got LL!

Hope that helps!
