Has anybody heard of this site? It has a bit of a He-Manish look to it, but it advocates true cross training and total body fitness. You should see some of the things those people do. It makes me feel like a weenie. :p

There's a free downloadable newsletter that describes their theory in detail. Very interesting. Check it out at www.crossfit.com

I have a friend who did crossfit before he tore his ACL - he said it TOTALLY kicked his butt. He was training for professional sports at the time and if he said it kicked his butt, there must be something to it. However, its an add-on - - it only takes 20-30 mins per day and is usually done by athletes training for something to take them to the next level.

Lots of the following from what I had been told and read.....
Burpees (similar to Terminators)
Pushups - clap pushups - ect - and pullups galore
Sprints - timed
Jumping (plyo) -
Stairs, ect

Tons of stuff like that. They post the WOD everyday on their websites and you can just add it to your workouts. Its hard to push yourself that hard after a workout and some of the equipment you may not have, but I heard its terrific. I tried to sign up for it at the local place that offered it but because I was not a student any longer, it would cost me $150 monthly!!! WAYYYYYY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!

My son does crossfit and he is in great shape. He is 31 and not a professional athlete. He rock climbs, plays soccer and rides a motorcycle. He loves crossfit and started doing it after being a gym rat for years. He says it has given him incredible stamina and really improved his climbing. It has also made him puke and sometimes when he comes over after the gym he looks an awful green color. I know it is not for me. Well you can see I have a 31 year old son!

Yes!!

I heard about this site after seeing some stuff on the workouts for the "300" movie several months ago.

I've started to incorporate some of their "workouts of the day" (WODs) into my routine, particularly their "Leg Day" workout. I wish there was a CrossFit affiliate nearer to me as I'd like to get deeper into it, but I'm a little shy of some of the power lifting type moves. I just don't have enough knowledge of the proper form, etc to feel comfortable.

The web site has a really nice directory of exercise and workout videos.

Friend of mine in the military starting doing it and she is rock solid. I tried it with her and then at the gym and honestly I couldn't hang and didn't think anything good for you should hurt so much. :D

The thing I like about exercise mostly is the loud music and hanging so didn't really do it for me.

Someone posted this website at VF a few months ago. It is totally addictive to watch and see what these people do. I would love to go to their gym and start as a beginner and see what I could work my way up to. It is totally INSANE but I would definitely love to give it a go, although I'm sure I would drop dead and/or puke.
